The best

I’ve tried many bottle brushes and this is my favorite. The nipple brush is probably the best part. Like all bottle brushes that are 2 in 1 the handle does come loose while cleaning bottles. But they all do and this one not as bad like the dr. Browns. Wish they would fix that design problem but I can deal with it.

Compromise

With this brush you have to keep the attachment part connected, otherwise you won’t be able to reach the bottom of your 8 ounce bottles. Then you have to undo it to scrub your nipples. It’s annoying, but worth it for the level of cleaning that these bristles do. The bristles do wear out quickly, though.

Best Bottle Brush!

My husband and I both prefer this brush to our previous option (Philips AVENT BPA Free Bottle Brush, Blue), which we had gotten based on stellar reviews. This Playtex brush was a lark during an Amazon sale, but is so much better! While the bigger brush may seem unwieldy, the bristles are extremely flexible. We use the bigger brush for washing: Playtex bottles (Drop-Ins); for Medela Breastshields; Lids & Connectors (from thePlaytex Drop-Ins System Breast Milk Storage Kit); & the colored connectors from the Drop-Ins bottles (that attach the nipple to the bottle itself). We use the nipple brush for not only the nipples for the Playtex bottles, but also: Medela Breastshield Connectors; Medela Valves; and Medela Membranes. I hope that helps give some perspective on the sizes/flexibility of the brushes.

I can see why the kids like this…

We just got this for our infant, and I couldn’t help but give it a bit of a test chew, myself. Now, I obviously don’t have a huge deal of experience (or, memory, rather) with teething toys, but this is good stuff. Very satisfying to bite on. I’m thinking of getting a second one for myself to use in the office to deal with stress. Much better than my kid’s silicone pacifier, which I’ve also tried. My only complaint is that the giraffe appears to have fluorescent lip stick, which is a bit disconcerting to see in a giraffe, even a French one.

Legs are choking hazard

Initially, we fell in the camp of enthusiastic adorers of this toy. Baby learned to pass it from hand to hand, retrieve it when lost and gaze intently into the friendly face. Then he managed to stuff one of the long legs deep into his mouth and started to gag. The legs are exactly the size that can block airways. Since he was supervised, nothing bad happened, but babes at this age (4 months) don’t have enough control to pull back the toy from their mouths when already scared by the gagging. I don’t think I’ll try again at a later date — even older babes are still too young to be trusted to react correctly when a leg goes too far in.This toy has many thoughtful features — no-slip texture, right-size for hands, light weight, soft (no banging on heads), friendly face and an engaging presence. But the legs can choke, which is why we’ve replaced it with a friendly velvet rocketship…

Don’t let the price deter you!

My 5 month old daughter LOVES her Sophie the Giraffe toy! This toy is absolutely wonderful in every way. Sophie is made of soft rubber and makes a pleasant-sounding squeak whenever any part of her body is squeezed, so even a young baby can elicit a reaction from the toy with minimal effort.I don’t know what it is about Sophie, but whenever my daughter plays with her, she gets very vocal and talkative.I saw another review which referred to this toy as “a glorified dog toy”. That reviewer is mistaken, and simply doesn’t realize the value of this toy.- Sophie’s body, while soft, has several areas of thicker rubber (the nubs on her head, her ears, and her feet) which are perfect for teething babies to gnaw on for relief.- Sophie’s contrasting colors (spots) are visually stimulating to a baby.- She is easy to grip given her long, thin neck.- This toy is made of 100% natural rubber and uses food-grade paint (SAFE!).- This is a quality baby toy which will last for many years.I would much rather pay $20 for a safe, engaging toy for my baby, than pay $5 for some piece of junk with lead paint.

Not enough recline

We ended up having to get another bouncer cause this one doesn’t have enough recline or head support and our daughter always end up in a funny position.

So cozy without a huge footprint.

We picked up this bouncer because it was about the smallest bouncer we could find – we wanted something four our infant to hang out in after eating so he didn’t have issues with reflux that we could keep by our bed without stumbling over it. We had another bouncer by Fisher Price that worked OK, but the feet on that bouncer stuck out so far that we were constantly tripping over it. This did the trick and is so much nicer and cozier than our other bouncer. There’s a ton of cushy padding and the fabric is just so soft! The toy bar at the top is removable so when you’re setting baby down and you want him or her to relax instead of being stimulated, you can take that off and just turn on the vibration or music tones for them to calm down a bit. The colors are lovely neutrals and all of the fabric can be removed and thrown into the washing machine. Sometimes the vibrating feature isn’t very strong, but it seems to work ok for our kid.

Love

My daughter loves this and it keeps her calm. I will say that the activity bar is rather close to her face and causes her to cross her eyes a lot so we removed it. Otherwise though, cute.

Pricey but worth it

Love this product for my skinny tall boy. Sure it’s on the pricey side, but unlike a traditional belt we’ll be able to use this product through several years of growing. I’ve bought 2 so far and will definitely buy more as needed. I could probably make it myself and it would be very inexpensive, but I don’t own the tool for grommets/snaps. Much more convenient to just buy it. I’ve turned some friends onto it and they love it as well.

works well, but I did think I was getting something else

My child was fascinated with belts, and after looking around, I could not find one to fit him. I was disappointed when it arrived; a little strip with some snaps. It definitely did not fit the idea of a child sized belt. My child saw it and was uninterested. It was a failure at giving him an accessory to play with, but it works very well as actually keeping his pants up, provided the pants have loops.

Great quality, but caution that it’s rather heavy.

I just went to look at this stroller today and just had to put in my 2 cents. Overall, this stroller is very solid and maneuvers like a charm. It can comfortably fit two babies, or two toddlers. The material is awesome! However, if you are a mom of a single child now and ‘plan’ to extend your family, you might want to consider something LIGHTER for the mean time. Perhaps, the City Mini. This stroller is pretty darn heavy to lift with one seat. It’s smaller than many tandem or double strollers but still somewhat bulky. I don’t like that it can stand after it folds either. So, for myself, I will have number 2 one day and I thought about eliminating the hassle of buying and then selling a single stroller. But, after seeing this in person, or lifting it…I’ll definitely consider this when I have two kids. In the mean time, I’ll stick to the much lighter single strollers and deal with the hassle of having to sell it later. Then, I got to thinking…is the City Mini Double that bad? Will it not fit through most doorways? It’s so much lighter and toteable…you can actually travel with it, I feel like. And it’s cheaper without having to buy that extra seat.

Do not buy this in Diamond color

First of all, the color Diamond should not be sold to any parent. It shows dirt too easily. I’ve had this stroller for about 8 months now, and I think it’s been through normal wear and tear, I don’t use it every day, really probably less than normal, and it looks horrible now. Even though this is a nice, expensive stroller, you wouldn’t think so because of the dirt on the canopy. I’ve tried to wash it by hand, you can’t put the canopy in the washing machine, according to Baby Jogger. but it definitely does not get off all the dirt this way. I did not realize this when we purchased the stroller, that the parts cannot be machine-washed. Who wants to hand wash, anyway? This is a great stroller for what it is, though, as a possible double stroller. It has a lot of basket room, which I didn’t think I’d need initially, but comes in handy so often. I’ve only used it as a single stoller, though. It maneuvers well, and is able to handle somewhat gravel paths, sand and snow. It folds close nicely, which was important to us, since we noticed with cheaper strollers this became an issue after a while. This seems like it will last for multiple children no problem. Very sturdy stroller. It folds up compactly if you take off the wheels, that is nice for when we travel to Europe, where people drive smaller cars generally.I just don’t understand why Baby Jogger sells this color. As a first-timer, I didn’t think about things like dirt showing on the stroller. I thought also since it is a light-gray, it wouldn’t be so bad, but it is. Baby Jogger would not exchange my seat for a different color when asked. It’s very disappointing, because when you purchase all of the extras, like the bassinet and the car seat adaptor, etc., this stroller is expensive. You still have this stroller that looks terrible because of the color. I wrote Baby Jogger and told them that they should not sell this color, they did not address this issue. Even though I think the product is worth the money, in this color it is not.A note: you need to get the Gate Check bag if you plan on flying. We did not, and on the way back from a flight, our stroller was dropped. The airline stated they normally don’t reimburse for strollers, but they were really negligent this time, and we are getting a reimbursement. The front wheels broke, but luckily we were able to order new ones for not too much money. At least it was for on the way back from a vacation. Imagine a vacation without a stroller. Just buy the Gate Check bag.I would have given a much higher rating if it were not for the color!

Ahhh…perfect.

I needed a stroller that would hold my Chicco Keyfit 30 infant seat as well as contain my 2.5 year old son. We tried the Chicco together, the Kolcraft Contours, the Sit n Stand, and the Joovy ultralight. (Whew, that’s a lot of strollers!) We ended up spending a lot more money to get this stroller, but it was SO worth it. It’s wonderfully made, great quality. I love that you can rearrange the seats several ways, and that it still doesn’t seem huge with an infant seat and a toddler in it. I read reviews that said the seats are too small for a toddler, but I haven’t had that problem. I also read reviews saying the Chicco infant seat doesn’t click into the adapter (sold separately) but it in fact does. I couldn’t be happier with this stroller. It’s not as heavy as the Chicco, or the Kolcraft. Not too tall for me like several strollers I tried (I’m 5′ 1″), and still does everything I need it to. Even my skeptical husband was very impressed with this stroller. I have to say the price tag was a bit hard to swallow once I had purchased everything I needed (the extra seat kit and the Chicco adapter), but I don’t think I’ll regret this purchase.

Better than Twilight Turtle – I had both

I was so torn between Tranquil Turtle and Twilight Turtle that I bought both to use for a week to see which one my baby preferred. I was hoping he’d like the starry Twilight Turtle because it’s considerably cheaper, but in the end when put side by side, my baby invariably chose the watery Tranquil Turtle. He loves it and it is quite beautiful. It plays a new-agey music loop that isn’t annoying. It is now a permanent staple of our bedtime routine.ProsUnlike the Twilight Turtle which is stationary, there is gentle movement displayed on your child’s ceiling. It is mesmerizing to my baby. Also, there is a dial on the bottom of the turtle to adjust the brightness, and the ability to change the volume of the music. The Twilight Turtle does not have music which is another reason we ultimately went with the Tranquil Turtle despite price difference. My 10 month old quickly learned to press the small buttons to turn the turtle on and sooth himself back to sleep.ConsThey lose a star because it only plays for 23 minutes. At the very least it should play for 30 minutes. Also, the when the battery is running low the light flashes on and off. Not the best when you have a sleepy babe in your arms and realize you can’t readily change the battery (which requires a screwdriver). I would rather it just not turn on at all than suddenly turn the nursery into a strobe-light disco.Overall we love this turtle and it matches our coral reef themed nursery perfectly. It would make a great gift but does come with a rather hefty price tag. It’s worth it though.

Adorable

We love tranquil turtle, the pattern on the ceiling is so soothing, the sound could be louder but we use a different sound machine that stays on all night, so for us thats no big deal. If you want the sound to be loud than this probably isn’t the product for you, we were more interested in the waves on the ceiling, which my son loves.

Great replacements

My husband, in all his infinite wisdom, decided that the straps on the highchair were unnecessary when my kid was only 8 months old. He didn’t realize how dangerous it was to NOT have her in the harness and he had no idea that she’d try and STAND while in her chair with nothing holding her down. Yes, I was really mad and yes, he saw the error of his ways. Anyway I though I was going to have to completely replace my expensive highchair, but I was pleasantly surprised when I hoped on Amazon that there were actual replacement straps! I ordered these, paid the extra few bucks for overnight shipping, and my daughter was safely strapped down the very next day.

Not deep enough

We tried to utilize this bath support to bathe my infant twin grandchildren, 8 lbs and 12 lbs. My daughter-in-law will not use it after discovering it is not deep enough for her to feel that the babies are securely held, and it holds very little water. She ended up buying another mfr’s brand that cradles the baby much better. This is advertised up to 30 lbs, but I am skeptical that a baby that size would even fit.

Great Bath Support!

The Angelcare Bath Support is really a nice support for baby. It has a very lightweight, yet sturdy design that doesn’t feel flimsy. The base has a non-slip ring around it to keep it from sliding around, even in tubs with no mat or strips. The way it holds baby is fantastic, the mesh is firm, yet soft, so you won’t have to worry about pressure points making the baby uncomfortable, and the mesh makes sure that baby doesn’t sit in any pools of water. There isn’t else to say abouts it, it’s a great design and there’s nothing not to love about it.

Perfect Fit

Over the last 4 months I have been looking for the perfect bath support or tub in preparation for our little girl. I came across this product in a magazine and after reading positive reviews decided it was worth a shot. Although she’s only had 4 baths and we are new to being parents, I couldn’t imagine a better product for bath time. The mesh is great for quickly rinsing all of the soap off of her, and she seems very happy and comfortable with the feel of it on her back.I did see one review where someone was concerned with their baby falling off of the support, and I have to say I could never see that happening. There is quite a nice pocket in the mesh for baby and it is soft and flexible, also the lip at the bottom holds baby in even better. Very nice product!

Good idea, bad quality

I was really excited when our local stores started to carry these bags. They are more rigid than other bags I’ve used, which I love, and the easy pour spout is ingenious. However, in the first 10 bags I used, I had 3 that leaked – immediately. Was very disappointed with the quality and will not be purchasing them again.

leaked milk

I love my Ameda purely yours pump and I have been pumping into bottles, then transferring the milk to Lansinoh bags and storing them in the freezer and fridge. Grandma then transfers the milk into bottles or drop in liners when she feeds my son. It just seems like too much transferring. I wonder about lost nutrients, and also having to wash/throw away things. So I thought these sounded like an awesome answer to my problem. First time I used them I was on my way home from work and noticed drips from my cooler. Never did I think a bag could leak like this. It looked like it was from the seal, although when I checked it, it seemed tightly sealed to me. But all 4 ounces formed a trail from my small office fridge, down the hall and steps, outside on the sidewalk, an in my car. It was maddening! I threw the rest of the bags out because I wasn’t going to risk that happening again. And up until that time I had never had a leak from a Lansinoh bag. I know I was careful to close the bag, but if you have to triple check, then it isn’t worth it to me. I was out at a store and bought the Medela pump and store bags like these. Then I read those reviews, and they are even worse! So I will return those and just use bottles and wash them and transfer to my bags like I have been doing. And by the way, I did just get my first leak from a Lansinoh bag too! This was a tiny little pin point hole in the bottom and was leaking very, very slowly into my fridge. I don’t know if I caused it from my cooler or moving them around in the fridge. They have that good double seal mechanism so I know the seals are good. But I’ll be keeping my eye on the them for a while to make sure this isn’t a re-occurrence.

ziplock seal isn’t great

This is the only breast milk storage bags I’ve used so I don’t really have anything to compare it too. But my biggest complaint is that the zipper seal doesn’t seal tight very well and leaks often. Because of that, I will probably buy a different kind next time.As other users have commented, the volume measurements are totally off because of the way the bag sits, but that wasn’t really a problem for me because I pumped into bottles, saw the measurements, then poured it into the bags.

Good Kit but more expensive than Walmart

This kit was two dollars less at another store. These safety items are a must have for curious toddlers. The drawer and cabinet latches are mainly the reason I got this kit. The latches are decently easy to install but do not work on every style of drawer. It makes it easier if you have a drawer or cabinet that has a thick piece of wood that comes down and meets with the door/drawer. Older style cabinets can present a problem, we found out. But, we overcame issues with making it work by not installing the plate and just letting the latch catch on the top edge of the frame of the cabinet or drawer. It’s hard to explain, but you’ll have to look at how things are set up in your home and see if there is an actual box style cabinet or if the cabinet is open inside at the top. If it is open, it will be more of a challenge to get these to work but not impossible. So, there is a drawback to these latches. The latches allow you to open the drawer just enough to get your finger in there to press down on the latch releasing it from the plate. The gap is wide enough for babies to get their hands into the front part of the drawer. We have had to push all of the junk in the drawers to the very back so the babies can’t reach anything. Sometimes they get their hands in there and lean forward closing their hands in the drawer which is obviously not good. We haven’t had any injuries so far, but they’re not completely safe and still require supervision, speaking of which – supervision is always required anyway and is stated clearly on the package.
