Sorta Pointless…
My daughter hated having her teeth brushed. I saw this in a catalog for baby safety items and found it cheaper on Amazon. I ordered it, thinking it would be a great choice for my teething baby. This thing is TINY, like as long as my finger. The entire thing is made out of soft sillicone so the handle is a bit pointless – you can’t really maneuver it at all. Once the baby bites down on the bristles, you can’t move the thing anyway. It would make more sense if this item had a larger handle so baby could hold it and it wouldn’t be as easily a choking hazard.I found it pointless – if this was to clean her teeth, well she was cleaning her teeth just as well by sucking on her washcloth in her bath, or chewing on the edge of her blanket. Also, do know you can’t pick color. We received pink – I didn’t care as that we have a daughter but another may not be happy with lack of color choice.
good idea
I thought is was made in the USA or I would not have purchased it. It is a very good idea and is cute.
Not really sure it is working
We aren’t really sure that this is working or not. I think this is more for the concept of brushing teeth more than anything. I have been disappointed.
get it as a teether, first.
the best way to approach this “toothbrush” is as a teether. let your child walk around [supervised] chewing on it…or even use it in the bath for those babies who hate bathtime, but love chewing and putting objects in their mouths. my daughter will walk around knawing on all parts of this thing [the entire product is silicone] and shes as happy as a clam! once a day ill put infant and toddler teeth gel [the flouride-free “toothpaste” for infants and toddlers] on both sides–about a pea-sized on each side–and tell her to brush her teeth. she still just walks around chewing it, but the teeth gel does help clean and it entices chewing on it to help the little silicone nubs clean the teeth. its held up well over the 6m weve had it. she loved it when it came, and she still loves it 6 teeth and 6 months later! 🙂 very satisfied.also, the shape and size helps prevent choking and shoving it too far back in the mouth, so lil babies can really do this one themselves. but still watch your child and everyday when you clean up the toys, inspect the little nubs and other areas chewed to make sure its not falling apart [my daughter has yet to do so, but your child may be different.]
My son wanted nothing to do with it…
I bought this product because of the glowing reviews, but my son had zero interest in it. It’s a shame, too, because he’s had 8 teeth since he was 8 months old and at 11 months I still haven’t figured out a way to get them brushed.
Neither one of my kids took to this
It was a novelty for about a day and a half. Then it spent most of it’s time on the floor or in the toy box. Wasn’t worth it for me.
英语中文(简体)日语 I have not used it
Looks very good, I have not used it, may help. Looks very easy to use, it should be easy to use it, now is not yet clear.
Too big for baby’s mouth
who was this thing designed for? I was surprised when I received this item and took note of the actual size of the brush. Its way too big for my baby to get into her mouth and so its become a general chew toy that she bites the end of. I really don’t see this helping her in any way unless I cut the thing down to half its size. I was fortunate that I bought several different types for her to chews from (pun intended)!
It’s fine, but do you really need it?
After I read all the reviews on amazon, I decided to buy this training toothbrush for my then 7 month old, who was just getting a few teeth. He didn’t like it much as a teether. It was too floppy for me to use to brush his teeth.A few months later, I bought a regular toothbrush at a grocery store- “My first toothbrush” made by Colgate, that was $2.49. Basically a small, short-handled, soft toothbrush, that was aged 0-2 years. We started brushing his teeth at bedtime, and he loved that he got to use a brush just like ours. I think “training” toothbrushes are basically an unnecessary product, as even a young child can tolerate having a real toothbrush as long as they have supervision, and may like using that as a teether as well. And you can probably find it in your local grocery, so why pay more for shipping?
Great for teething babies
My teething baby LOVES to chew on this. I am not sure how much she is "brushing" but this is one of her favorite things to chew on. It must feel good on her gums. The handle is also just the right size for her to hold onto.
Great for itchy gums!
Our daughter loves this!!!! Planning on buying more!!!!!
Great addition to bath, but not sure if its a good toothbrush
Not sure how good of a toothbrush it is but my daughter loves to put it in her mouth and chew on it (she is 11 months). We have been "using" (chewing" on it for a couple of months now with no damage.
Great for teething baby
My son loves his toothbrush. When he gets fussy from teething pains, I will give him this and he bites and chews on it and it seems to soothe him.
Lovely but more of a chew toy than a brush
My younger son loves to chew on this brush. However, it is not a true baby toothbrush in a sense that you won’t be able to move it in his mouth. But with that adjustment to expectations it is a great "chewie".
My baby loves toothbrush/ teether!
My eleven month old loves to use this, both as a tooth brush and as a teether. I don’t think it poses any choking risk.
Pink, Blue, perfect…. clear not so much
My baby used her pink one so much from ~5-12 months that I purchased two more in clear. These things are IMPOSSIBLE to find when they are not colored. DO NOT buy them in clear… spend the extra 2 bucks for pink or blue. That said, these are the best teethers. I would dab a little baby toothpaste on it, and my little one would go to town. I could even substitute it for her binky and know that her teeth were getting cleaned at the same time. It is soft enough where I never worried about her hurting herself walking with it, and the shape makes it impossible to choke on. The little loop at the end is perfect for babies little fingers to hold on to.
Wonderful product
This is designed to feel like a teether, so the baby grabs it and brushes his teeth, a wonderful trick! My son loves it!
11 month old loves it
gave this to my daughter cause she was teething like crazy (3 teeth at once poor girl.) she started using it right away.
Best thing ever
My son absolutely HATED brushing his teeth before we got this. he loves this tooth brush and it really gets his teeth very clean. I think every pediatrician should be promoting this!
Perfect Teether
My baby uses this as a teether. it is the right size for her little hands and she seems to like the bristles.
son didn’t care for this
my son prefers the banana looking toothbrush – but all babies are different of course. we still have it in case he outgrows the banana one
We LOVE it!!!
My son and I LOVE this product!!! Braydon lets me brush his teeth with it and then he’ll take it and just chew and chew for it seems like hours!!!! LOVE IT!!!
A fine toothbrush – baby pleased, mama releived
I really wasn’t sure about this when I bought it, but my 9 month old has six teeth so dental hygiene needs to be incorporated. Other items I’ve offered him to chew have been touch and go, which is why I was hesitant about this product: just because it is designed for a baby to chew doesn’t mean he’s going to chew it. In fact, while I was opening the package he was already chewing on something else he seemed to find wildly satisfying. Yet when I handed him this toothbrush he became immediately intrigued, set down the other object and went to town on the toothbrush! I could hear his little teeth squeaking against the nubby bristles, and it seemed that the shape was able to get good coverage on both front and back.Rad item. Totally glad I bought it.
Love it!
My 8 month old chews on this everytime we go into the bathroom! She sits on the counter and looks in the mirror and chews on this so excitedly while I brush my teeth or do my morning routine. I bought a fingerbrush, but haven’t even used it since she loves this so much. I am sure she would carry it around all day if I let her (I think Daddy does sometimes lol).
Great for Teething Babies
When my doctor told me that brushing my daughter’s teeth would help them break through the gums, I purchased this tooth brush. The first few times we used it, my daughter would let me rub it back and forth over her gums. Now she doesn’t want my help and even though she chews more than brushes, she loves it. She will “brush” in 5-10 minute intervals (she doesn’t give this much attention to any other toy or teether). If anything, I think it is a great tool to begin teaching dental care at a young age.
Not Effective
I used this in combination with a toddler toothbrush. This brush doesn’t really do anything above a gum stimulator. Plaque is not removed, though it does remove some food particles. If the plaque isn’t removed, this can lead to tooth issues later on the line. I wouldn’t use it again.
teether
This is the best "teether"gets in the tough areas and he doesn’t realize he is brushing his teeth.I have a million teethers and toothbrushes. This is the ONE to buy
Best baby toothbrush I’ve found
I’d previously used one of those finger toothbrushes, but my daughter really hated it. So I thought I’d give this a try. To be honest, I didn’t have high hopes, despite the good reviews. Figured she’d hate this just as much as the finger style brush. To my total surprise not only does she not mind me using this to brush her gums, she actually seems to enjoy it.
baby looooooves this
We give him this after the iron supplement to prevent teeth coloring. He won’t let us brush his teeth with the silicon “brush”, but he will immediately start chewing this on his own. He loves it.
I think we’ll be using it for a while
We didn’t start using this until my daughter was around 14 mos and now I wish we’d used it sooner. I like the fact that it’s soft and flexible (and less of a hazard with a running escapee), my daughter likes it, and it appears to do a good job of reaching the teeth. We could probably graduate to a kids’ toothbrush, but I think I like this even better!
