I dont know

Seem absorbent i used on in a pocket trainer b4 washing it and she still leaked through it…it didn’t fit well in the pocket trainer I think for a larger child a contoured on will work best. Initial impression im just not sure about it….will re-review when i get to use them after washed and on the baby as well as the older child who deep sleeps and wets at night.

Some of my favorite doublers

I use these as nighttime doublers in my pocket diapers, and I really like them. I still prefer bamboo/charcoal doublers, but these are very absorbent and trim. A very good doubler for the price.

Add absorbancy to all your diapers!

When my son hit about 9 months, he began to leak out of his diapers daily. These doublers were a lifesaver! In case you weren’t sure what to do with it– you “double” it up with your current insert. It is not meant to be used alone (although I think it would work fine with newborns)– it is meant to go with another insert to add absorbency– thus the name, “doubler.”This product solved a huge problem for me that started after my son became mobile. No more cloth-oops when someone would pick him up and say, “Oops, he’s wet– that’s why I don’t like cloth diapers.” So annoying! I just needed to add a little absorbency so they were less likely to leak as he moved around more. Like some of the other reviewers noted, they do shrink– but that does not mean the absorbency goes away or decreases! That simply means you have an even smaller insert with the same absorbency! Less bulk is something I always look for in a diaper (as do most!), and a reason I really love Babykicks products in general. So many diapers make jeans and pants uncomfortable on my son (especially as he got bigger, more mobile, and started to wear “real” clothes). This insert allows you to add absorbancy where you need it without adding a ton of bulk. For my son, I put most of it up front and between his legs. My friend puts it mostly towards the back for her daughter. If we go somewhere and I know my son will be sitting for a while (church, restaurants, etc.), I put the insert more between his legs where compression leaks occur. You will love this product!

absorbent, but shrink

after using these for 6 months on my little boy, i can say they are very absorbent (have to use 2 of these inside a pocket diaper at night time, and only one during the daytime). however, after many washings and dryings, they shrink to about 4.5″ X 11.25″. that is a little too small for me, wish they made them larger to compensate for the major shrinkage.

Good addition for extra absorbency.

Hemp inserts are absolutely essential for any cloth diaper collection. We started with a handful ofBabyKicks 3 Pack Joey-Bunz, Medium, and they are what made night time cloth diapering possible for us. (I pack my daughter in a diaper with one regular insert and two hemp inserts at bedtime and don’t need to change her for the rest of the night. More sleep for me, more sleep for her. Awesome.) But a handful of hemp inserts weren’t enough, and on nights when we hadn’t gotten the last load of laundry dried in time where a nightmare. I can’t even fathom nighttime diapering without hemp inserts. So I decided we needed to add a few more hemp inserts to our collection, and this time I decided to try out BabyKicks Double Liner. They are a combination of hemp jersey and cotton (score!) and are super soft and fuzzy. They seem to be slightly less absorbent than the Joey Bunz (though I haven’t conducted any really scientific experiments to prove it), but do the job I need them to do. And they are handmade in the United States. Double score. Oh! And they are also a bit shorter than the other hemp inserts in our collection, which means that they fit better in some of our pocket diapers. With a handful of these and a handful ofBabyKicks 3 Pack Joey-Bunz, Mediumyou’ll be set. If I had more cash I would order another 10-20 so that we could use them during the day as well. We’d be able to cut our diaper changes in half that way I bet. A girl can dream can’t she… 🙂

Good nighttime doubler

I started using these doublers at night in an attempt to help my newborn daughter go longer before waking up. I don’t think it helps her sleep any longer because she wakes up hungry instead of wet, BUT if she wasn’t hungry I think she would sleep much longer with the doubler than without. The doubler allows her diapers to absorb more moisture. Plus, if she has a BM shortly after changing her, I can remove the dirty doubler and reuse the diaper as long as it isn’t dirty/wet.
