Did not stick!

We unfortunately bought this before reading the reviews. We followed the directions perfectly and it fell off within 10 hours. So we are going to try what another reviewer said, double sided sticky tape and see if that works. If not we will be returning it which is really a shame because it’s really cute and a big space saver for our small bathroom. They should really work on a design to make it stick better!Update: We tried the sticky tape and it stayed for about a week and fell again. So we took it back.

Where’s the love?! Krazy Glue Holds It To Wall!

We love our frog pod! It is actually so big we were rolling laughing when it arrived. The drainage feature is great too, and it holds a lot of bath-sized toys (not huge ones). Ours fell off after a few weeks, which we knew from other reviews might happen, but we just Krazy Glued it back to the wall and it has been up for months now with no problems. Very easy fix, and no screw holes in the wall for a permanent mount!

Advice for those having trouble with it falling

First, we’ve had ours up for several months now without issue, and LOVE it. It drains well, since it’s hard plastic it doesn’t mildew, stores the shampoo bottles, and his toes are great for hanging things (poofs, toys, etc).BUT, you cannot allow the double stick tape to cross a grout line (or similar indentation, if you have a molded tub/shower surround). Doing so allows water/air behind the tape and it will lose grip! This could be an issue if you have small tile. It is possible to cut the tape so that it only attaches to complete tiles. Thankfully, my shower has 4″ x 4″ tiles so this was not an issue.Hopefully that’ll help someone!Edit: Almost one year later – still holding strong! We’ve had no issues with it falling at all (and it’s LOADED!). LOVE it!And another edit (10/13/08): So, a year and a half later, our luck ran out. Last night our frog fell and scared the bejeezers out of me. Again, it was very fully loaded (the entire tub is now full of toys/scrubbies/shampoo bottles). Honestly, I’ll be looking into options to re-adhere it. We love it too much to let having to re-hang it every couple years deter us from continuing to use it!Edit 10/27/08: So, 2 weeks after it finally fell off the wall (2.5 years after we’d first hung it) – it’s back up and thus far doing fine. I found a 3M Command product made specifically for “high humidity areas” (showers, etc) and decided to give 4 of those strips a try. So far, so good.Edit 11/11/09: A year later it’s still doing great with the 3M Command strips, and still keeping the tub toys organized!Edit 10/19/10: 2 years w/ the 3M Command strips and it’s still like new!

Yes, the hit-or-miss sticky tape… But so dang cute!

Like many other reviewers, I had problems with the FrogPod tumbling off the shower wall — and it’s a smooth surface, no grout issues to blame. But after really muscling it onto there, the stick-or-not-to-stick issue disappeared…And it’s PRECIOUS! And USEFUL! (And how many failed baby products can you say both about?)Handiness: Pluck off the basket, dump toys in bath, then scoop them up, rinse the works under the faucet and rehang for mildew-less drying. (Frankly, a tumble or two after I first hung it was far less hassling than the suction-cupped toy nets that never seem to consistently suck, just consistently SUCK.)Styling: Adorable! Insanely precious! The FrogPod is for kids, sure, but the design is clean, modern, and simply fun; just try stepping into the shower without smiling at the thing! Having children means having some clutter and some items that fall outside your aesthetic, but the FrogPod both reduces the clutter and does so with a playful design. Would that ALL products for kids could…

CRASH in the night!

We bought this frog pod and put it in our little girl’s bathroom. About 4 months later at 2 in the morning, my husband and I were jolted by a loud crash. We looked all over the house looking for the source of the noise. It wasn’t until the next morning that I realized that it was the frog pod that fell off the wall (the sticky tape stopped working I guess). This product is a piece of junk. Don’t waste your money.

I really wanted to love this…

I really wanted to love this, however, it keeps falling off. We do use the suction cups, because we rent our place and cannot drill holes in the walls for the other plate. I’m sure it may stay up if you do so, but we can’t. Besides, why offer suction cup if it doesnt work. Defeats the purpose. It does hold alot of toys though, and they always dry just fine. SCOOOOP them up after your bath, hang up, and thats it! I found that even though the bracket stuck to the wall, the scooper itself was easily knocked off.

Very cute, functional when it stays up

We followed the directions. It stayed up for about a month or two. Then it fell and we haven’t had luck since. However I’m not giving up just waiting before trying again. We used the suction cup because we aren’t planning on being here forever and don’t want to ruin the shower. I love the look and function. It’s great. VERY big. I hadn’t seen it in person and didn’t think about the amount of space I would need for it. However it’s cute and gets the job done when its up. I bought the lady bug for my mother in law. She’s had our luck too.

A Functional Toy!

Finally, a bathroom organizer that works! The bucket on the frog has ample space to hold all the toys that my son has plus room for more (and we have LOTS of toys). I also like that I can rinse all of his toys off and none of them rest on the sides or bottom of the tub making it easy to clean. We get lots of compliments on the frog because of his functionality and good looks. I was a bit hesitant to purchase because of reviews about the frog not staying mounted but I have had none. I also used extra caution and rubbed my shower down an extra time with rubbing alcohol and allowed the base to remain adhered for 48 hours before attaching the frog and toy laden scoop. I have purchased more as both baby and birthday gifts…..go ahead, order & enjoy!

Great toy holder!

This has been a terrific buy. It allows for a central place for bath toys, and also allows for them to drain easily. I also very much like the little shelf — it’s perfect for storing a bottle or two of bath wash.It mounted easily and firmly; that thing is not going anywhere! The only reason I didn’t rate it 5 stars is beause I wish it was bigger!

Perfect for bathroom and kids toys

I love having this. It it quite large and holds a lot of toys in it. It comes with a sticky pad or screws to screw it into the wall. We have a tile wall and I didn;t want to make it premanent. You are able to buy a separate suction cup holder that is perfect. The sticky pad that comes with it does not hold well at all. I recommend the suction cup. I think it’s only $10 at most, but worth it if you don’t want anything permanent. We also use the webbed arms to hold toys and dry washcloths.

Cute, but SO BIG!

If you haven’t seen this in person before you plan to purchase, review the dimensions! It’s so cute, but on man is it big! I realize it must be big in order to hold multiple bath toys, but I had to return because it would take up more bathtub space than I was willing to part with.

Great product

I love boon products and this is no exception, a great bath organizer and holds a lot of stuff. The frog is huge but it looks great in the bath and holds a lot of toys plus soaps and washcloths.

Worked well with the suction cups

I received this as a shower gift. When it was first hung with the sticky pad, it fell down almost immediately. I purchased the suction cup mount and it’s been hanging ever since. It’s easy to just scoop up the toys at the end of bath time and it easily drains out the water.

Sad, sad little froggy

I desperately wanted the boon frog to work! I’ve given the boon frog as a shower gift and was convinced it was the best thing ever…until I received one as a gift and tried over and over to make it stick to the tile in my bathroom, to no avail. I bought the suction cup adapter and that stayed up for a few days but it fell down too. Now the sad frog sits next to our toilet unable to find work. While the boon frog is adorable (I gave it 2 stars because it’s so cute!), it just didn’t work for us. We ended up with a skip hop tubby that is awesome, although it gets mildewy and moldy if you don’t wash it regularly.

Big!

Once I started bathing my son in the tub and had a tub full of his water toys the OCD kicked in, didn’t know what to get and ran accross this frog. Reviews are mixed, but decided to try it out. Figured it was better than the bucket I was currently using. I ordered the sold separatly suction bracket. Has pleanty of room for all of the toys he likes in the shower and hasn’t fallen off of the wall. Overall I am very happy with the product. If something changes will be sure to update my review. (Medium tile where frog is mounted, didn’t place suction on grout lines…just in case)

Perfect for our bathroom

This has worked great in our bathroom. We put all the toys in the frog and then were able to hang things from it’s “toes”.My daughter and son both think it is funny and like to clean up after themselves (the only place they like so far).Recommend it for even small bathrooms as it fits in our tiny one just fine.

SO CUTE!

So cute! It’s exactly what I had hoped for. It even has a little spot to store a bottle of body wash and shampoo. I do wish that it had come with more than 1 set of sticky tape for the wall.

Cute, clever product!

Easy to mount, has stayed very clean, and the kids love scooping up all their toys with the bath frog! It’s rather big, but I don’t mind much as it definitely serves its purpose. It’s made of good quality plastic and has hung well on the shower wall with no slipping even when weighed down with lots of bath toys. I love Boon products, and this one did not disappoint either. Definitely recommend!

Works great and SO cute!

I have owned one of these since 2006. I absolutely love it. It does what its supposed to do, stays where you put it, and makes picking up toys so easy. We recently had to put it up though, our shower in our apartment has curved walls and this does not work if your walls are slightly curved. We’re on the hunt for something that will work for us until we move and hopefully have flat shower walls again.

So FUN and FUN-ctional!

I adore this boon product! I love that is provides convenient storage for all of the bath-time essentials and it is cute and sturdy! It stays put and my son loves looking at it during bath-time. I even hang wash clothes on the "hands" to dry out before throwing them in the dirty clothes. The little soap bottle shelf is perfect too! I love that it isnt a little mesh-net and that it doesnt have suction-cups to stay in place (bc those NEVER work). One piece of advice though…if you bathe your child in a garden tub or something other than a typical bath tub, make sure you have enough wall-space to hang this guy. He is pretty long and wide and he needs a decent sized wall to hang to. Just keep this in-mind!

2 different reviews you need to see.

Okay, I would have given 5 stars IF THERE WAS A WAY TO MOUNT W/O THOSE WORTHLESS TAPE STRIPS. Sorry, its frustrating. Unless you have a bare WALL in the bath (not tile) I wouldnt recommend. We tried the command strips and it didnt hold on the tile-too heavy with toys (plus this is heavy w/o toys). We are still trying to figure something out, so if anyone figures out what to do to mount it through tile, let me know!If you do have a wall you can mount it to, this thing is great! LOVE it

Works Great, with different sticky tabs

As prior reviews have stated, the sticky tabs that come with this toy scoop are not the best. We purchased Waterproof Command Strips, installed the product on a completely dry surface, and did not use the tub for a couple of days. I love the shelf in the frog’s mouth that holds two bottles of baby shampoo!!

Cute and functional

2/07: We put this up a couple weeks ago and it has stayed up. Yah! It’s so cute I am glad it worked for us.We put the mounting plate up using the 3M strips that come with it. I actually got in the tub and pushed on the plate hard for about a minute on all four edges. We let the strips cure for 72 hrs. before hanging the frog up, and then another 24 hrs. before putting anything in him. He currently is holding a bottle of soap, bottle of shampoo, various bath toys, and a bath scrunchy, and he isn’t moving. While the plate was curing our daughter carried the frog around and played with him. Some of the green coloring came off on my husband’s shirt when she had the frog was “jumping” on him. I didn’t notice it on any other clothes or the tub walls, but it’s why I gave this product 4 stars not 5.6/07: Stuck so well the fiberglass bathtub cracked when removed. E-mailed company and 4 weeks later the only reponse was that they would send us new 3M extra strong adhesive strips or suction cups. Amazon edit page won’t let me change my rating, but would definately lower it since my Frog stuck too well.10/07: I’ve use the regular strength 3M at our new house. I cut the strips to the lenth indicated on the hanging plate. I let the strips cure 3 days before hanging the frog and three more before adding toys to him. It’s stayed up 2 months. Hope he comes off ok the next time.

Good for a year, then unrecoverable

I received this scoop as a shower gift. I really liked it! I stuck it to the wall of my tub using the very strong, double-sided, sticky tape provided (I was not, and AM NOT in favor of screwing it into my shower wall.) It held tight with a reasonable amount of tub toys (the basket is not that large, so you can’t fit any large boats or anything like that in there) for about a year. One night it fell (scaring the heck out of my husband and I who were fast asleep and thought someone was trying to break in.) I should note here, we only use this bathroom for bathing the kids. No one showers in here, and there’s never any steam because we leave the door open when we bathe him. I came to Amazon and purchased the Boon suction holder. There are about 8 suction cups on the back, and since Boon was otherwise a quality product, I decided to try it. No dice. I cleaned both the shower wall and the suction cups with rubbing alcohol, as per the instructions, and they simply won’t hold up. The basket really isn’t overwhelmed with heavy toys, but the entire unit is not light. Even though the suction piece looks sturdy and well-made, it simply doesn’t work. I’m in the market for a new tub toy holder.
