Pillowcase is almost impossible to get back on after washing. Pillow is hard, scratchy and too tightly coiled to be comfy.
This pillow must be designed for women with very short torsos. I find that if I try to curl it around me, it feels like it is attacking me. The pregnant woman shown in the photo fits neatly into the inner curve but I wonder if she is holding the top in place, because when I tried to use it that manner it would curl under my neck. The cover is scratchy, you really cannot put your face on it. So you will need to add the cost of a cover to this if you are going to use it for sleeping.I breastfed two kids, and used a U shaped pillow at times. I can see that this might be better for breastfeeding, since you can get a double “height” by wrapping it around yourself. However, it is a fight to get it into that position, and you cannot just get up easily with it wrapped around you.It is much harder than a regular pillow and also thinner than it looks in the photo. I also washed the slip cover to see if that would soften it up, but it did not. And getting the slipcover back on was a monumental struggle, like wrestling a reluctant snake into a tight jacket. It actually reminded me of a topology problem and took almost 20 minutes to accomplish. This means if you use it to prop up your baby and he/she spits up on it you will have to face trying to get the clean cover back on.Back to my full length body pillow, this one is just physically too hard, too scratchy and fights me too much.
A Qualiy Body Pillow Made For Pregnant Women.
This body pillow is as it appears on the Amazon web page. It is almost circular at one end and curved at the other. While it can be stretched a little it retains that form.As a result it would work well as a feeding pillow and toddler pillow. It also works as a body pillow knowing that, as the picture on the web page shows, the pillow will wrap around a person’s body. There are may different types of body pillows. This is made for women who are pregnant and just looking at it, and the pictures on this page, explains why.It is made of quality material that is made to last. I felt comfortable resting my head on the pillow and my legs on the pillow as well.It has a cover on it that is washable. Other covers can be purchased as well but you can use the one that comes with this body pillow.
Cover rips after just a week of use
I use to use a full body pregnancy pillow when I was pregnant and it was much thicker than this. The downfalls of this is that it needs 50% more padding and 50% wider and this is pretty tiny, I’m only 5’0. You have to flip it from side to side if you’re a flipper, that’ s a huge annoyance. No woman is going to want to get up to readjust her pillow back and forth. When you put it between your knees, there isn’t much cushion so your knees end up touching some what. This is fine to sleep with if you aren’t pregnant and can deal with how small it is.I had hoped this would replace my regular pillow and body pillow but it can’t.*** I wasn’t going to rewrite this at first, the cover started to rip and it got to the point where it’s ripped so badly, there’s no point it being on there. I’ve never had a cover rip from just sleeping on it. DON’T BUY THIS!
Being 5 months pregnant I am starting to need a little bit support while sleeping and this Body pillow really helps. I wish I had it when I was pregnant with my first. The pillow wraps around my neck so I can use it as a pillow for my head and then it curls around my belly and wraps around my legs for support between my legs as well. I only wish it was a little thicker in the area by my belly but other than that I really like this pillow. And when I am not using it, I can coil it up into a ball shape and put it away.My son, who is about to turn 2, really likes this body pillow as well. He likes to have it wrapped around his body and sitting in the middle of it. Or wrap it around him and bump into things. He uses it more for play, sometimes he likes to wrangle it like a snake. So it has many uses, and when my baby is born I can use this as a nursing pillow as well.
Born Free is an excellent brand of high quality baby products. This body pillow will be heaven for sleeping during pregnancy, oh so helpful during feelings and fun for toddlers. It is stuffed and stiff. You can use this many times without it loosing shape. The covering is a heavy canvas material (but I still recommend the cover, it’s cute and will save this pillow from stains). You can twist and turn the pillow into interesting shapes for maximum comfort. It is slim enough to be maneuverable with one hand, without sacrificing comfort. I also have the Boppy body pillow: it is heavy, wide and difficult to maneuver with one hand. Born Free is the better body pillow. Easy to store, easy to use and oh so comfortable, I highly recommend this body pillow.
Couldn’t survive pregnancy without this!
During my 2nd pregnancy, I needed the body pillow before the end of my 1st trimester, whew, it was rough! Simply put, this pillow is a lifesaver and I would not have been able to sleep without it! Only thing you need to know is that with this one you need to buy the cover separately.
Good for mommy, baby, and big sister!
I am a side sleeper, so this pillow is a great shape for me. It’s a very heavy pillow and also works great as a support for nursing. My 3 year old really enjoys sitting in it and wrapping it around her body while she’s snuggling or reading. So, it’s very useful. It has a zipper that goes down the back seam so you can easily remove the cover for washing. I do have a few complaints (not major, but should be noted) It is a bit stiff hard (even after a while of use), which is great for support while nursing, but not super comfy while sleeping. and the cover is not soft fabric (which could be remedied by buying another one for like $12). Overall, it’s a great investment and very useful for mommy, baby, and toddler in our house!
A good pillow for side sleepers….
I am a side sleeper, and I think that is going to give me a natural tendency toward liking this style of pillow. I’ve owned this pillow and the Snoogle by Leachco and this pillow. I like Born Free’s pillow, but I think that the Snoogle is just a little bit better in the end. This is a close second for me. It is a great shape and has more support if you intend to use it for nursing. I’ve tried it nursing but find it a little big and will problem stick with the My brest friend pillow for that. It is fun for a toddler to lounge on though. As far as sleeping go, it’s a little stiff to be completely comfortable which is the main reason I prefer the snoogle. If you like firm pillows, this one is for you! Overall, it is a great pillow!
