I was looking for a long-sleeved waterproof bib for my toddler-to-be, and I first purchasedBumkins Waterproof Sleeved Bib – Blue Fizz. They both have their pros and cons, but here’s the list for Kushies:PROS1. BPA-free, PVC-free, phthalates-free,
• (Bumkins is NOT lead-free, but only lead-
• )2. Easy to clean, especially on the lining (vs Bumkins’ lining stains and is regular cloth/cotton material and hard to clean)CONS1. Thinner material (almost feels disposable but it’s not)2. Velcro neck strap (doesn’t adjust to neck size of baby, not as resilient as a tie strap in terms of older babies pulling it off)Both have nice designs and work well as bibs. Like any other cloth/fabric-type bibs, the flimsy “catcher” at the bottom of these bibs doesn’t catch as nicely as hard plastic-type bibs but those stiffer bibs are also less comfortable. My baby seems comfortable in both Bumkins and Kushies sleeved bibs, although he tends to chew on the Bumkins one more whereas the thinner material (maybe the thinner material is actually a pro instead of con in this case?) allows the bib to fall against his body more and is less tempting than the thicker material of the Bumkins bib that sort of stays closer to his face/mouth.Overall though, Kushies gets my vote for lead-free, esp since my baby likes chewing on the Bumkins one. And the easier to clean is a big bonus for busy parents as well.

I couldn’t believe how much time I had to spend each day trying to get stains out of clothes. And with winter coming up, I wanted to get long sleeve bibs, which for some reason I haven’t seen in Babies R Us or any other store. Every bib I got seemed to have some issue, but I thought it might be helpful for others to see a comparison of the details:SIZEKushies – the smallest of the three bibs (sleeve – 11 inches from neck, width – 10 inches, length – 13 inches from neck).Ikea – sleeve (14 inches from neck, including a 1 inch fabric cuff), width (12 inches from one seam to another but another 8 inches that wrap around – yea!!), length (14 inches from neck)Bumpkins – sleeve (14.5 inches from neck), width (13.5 inches), length (12.5 from neck)Tidy Turtle – the largest (sleeve – 16 inches from neck, width – 14 inches, legth – 15 inches from neck)MATERIALKushies and Ikea are very thin, like umbrella material. Kusies folds down to nothing – great for a full diaper bag. Ikea folds a little thicker due to cloth cuffs and extra fabric.Tidy Turtle and Bumpkins are thicker and stiffer. Tidy Turtle has a visibly larger weave.CUFFSAll the sleeves have a 3-inch opening (in diameter).Kushies – no elastic cuff. Food may fall in and drip onto the baby’s arms/clothes.Ikea – 1 inch of soft spandex fabric. The cuff opening is just a little bit smaller than the other bibs.Bumpkins and Tidy Turtle – elastic sewn inside the bib material.NECK CLOSUREMy 20lb baby has a skinny neck. Unfortunately, all of the bibs are about the same size around the neck, regardless of what type of closure. Bumpkins ties together at the neck, and the others have velcro. Even they are supposed to be “adjustable” velcro, they are all about the same size opening on the smallest setting. With velcro, you also have to make sure you stick it together before washing. Otherwise, it will stick to and ruin your other clothes. Unfortunately, the Ikea bib has an extra long grippy part that cannot be covered, so you are sure to ruin some delicate clothes if you throw it in the wash without putting it in a separate lingerie bag or something. In general, all the long sleeve bibs seem too big for my my 1 year old and were too big around the neck area. Sometimes I use a clothes pin to make the neck opening smaller. Aside from that, I feel that Bumpkins and Ikea provide the best coverage without being too big. They are wide and long enough on the bottom and have an elastic cuff to keep Baby’s clothes clean. I like Ikea’s thinner material and spandex cuffs, but Bumpkins looks cuter (we love Cat in the Hat).

These work well, they protect my baby’s clothes. They are not perfect, some food does make its way through the arms and neck, but honestly, a bib should not be too tight to prevent that. One thing you should be aware of is that the dark colors leach like there is no tomorrow. I got a blue one and hand washed it in cold water before using it. The water was deep blue in no time. I returned it, baby will spill water and bring the bib to his mouth, I don’t need a lot of blue on him and his clothes!I do like them enough as to buy more and have them rotate through the day, though.

green sprouts Stay-dry construction keeps moisture from leaking through Bibs and Burp Pads to protect clothes from getting soiled.
- Cotton Terry
- Ultimate protection from drools & spit ups
- Waterproof protection for baby’s clothes
- Soft, absorbent terry
- Adjustable hook-&-loop closure for easy on & off
I was shocked when I read all of the 5 star reviews. These are horrible bibs. They are listed as waterproof, and is very far from the truth. Never have these kept moisture off of his clothing. We would have to double bib him, and even then, both would be drenched in a half hour or so. We will stick with our generic Target brand ones that absorb and wash great.

My son has had bad reflux since birth. These bibs have been a great saver! They are a nice soft cotton, but still have enough waterproofing to them that the spit-up doesn’t soak through to his clothes. I also appreciate that they don’t have any design/embroidery on them, as it helps catch and absorb, where as the ones we received as gifts or with clothing sets haven’t worked. He is now drooling a lot and these have worked great for catching that, as well. They have stayed in great shape through 6 months of washing.
Faye Ohiopyle, PA
I bought this product based on the rave reviews and they were terrible! My 3-month old twins are not drooling yet, just using them for regular bottle feed and it soaks thru so quickly. Unless I got a batch of defected bibs, they really are no better than paper napkins…

This product is so cute, I’m giving it as a baby shower present. Not really sure how well they work but they definitely are cute.
Joyce Ponce, PR
cheap and poor quality. I received the bibs and the stitching is already coming off (without even using/washing it). The backs are also made out of a cheap plastic, which i do not like. The sayings are cute but do not buy these bibs.

I didn’t realize just how many bibs I’d need for newborn twins. Especially if you want to keep from staining all those lovely baby clothes you collected. These worked out great.

These burp cloths are the perfect size, not too big and not too small. They are a great material- nice and soft and really cute!
Lesa Memphis, TN
Our baby can spit up with the best of them. These cloths provide great coverage and absorption – the only other product that comes close are the thick ply old fashioned cloth diapers. They are soft and cute and have held up after many washings. I highly highly recommend getting many of these if you have a champion spit-upper on your hands.
Shelia Koloa, HI
These are a nice size, good looking, and absorbent! We loved them so much we bought a second pack. We found other cloths too small.

Wish I had found these sooner! My 6 month old is a big drooler and we have lots of spit-up. He sometimes soaks through 6+ regular bibs a day. With these bibs I’m often down to no more than 2 bibs a day, and I only change the bib b/c it smells like spit-up, it never leaks through to the back side. It has a waterproof lining INSIDE between the front and back cloth linings, so there is no vinyl/plastic exposed. I’ve also had trouble with some bibs having neck holes that are too large – these are perfect. When I purchased them my son was 5 months old and they were a great fit. Probably would’ve fit fine even younger as well. The washing instructions say not to put them in the dryer, but I do and so far so good (I’ve had them for several weeks). Great product!

Until you have had more than 1 child you don’t tend to notice that bibs need to have more function than fashion. Strangely I never noticed this much until I ran across one of these bibs from my daycare. My daughter came home with one of these and I immediately noticed how great they were. They’re absorbent it don’t soak through, they soft but have the liner in the middle, they’re reversible which is a must for me. When I had my third baby I knew I had to find more of these and amazon never disappoints 🙂 I keep a stack of about 10 bibs at the ready but these are my go to…the Velcro is strong and stands up to the constant washings. Let’s face it, if it doesn’t stay on it’s not worth keeping. The one from my daycare is still in my rotation, 2 years later.

Nice colours, good size, but waterproof and absorbent??? Not really. I was disappointed in the actual quality. I guess I should have known it was too good to be true.

Soft and quilted fabric means no itching or scratching for baby. A pocket at the bottom helps to catch crumbs, while the Velcro tabs in the back allow for quick and easy on and off. Perfect to take when traveling or for in the car as there is minimum cleaning and no laundry!
- Leak proof
- Crumb Catcher
- Self Adhensive tabs
- Perfect when traveling
Life saver for the trips! They are pretty soft (soft enough to wipe her mouth after she is done eating), very easy to put in/take off. Take literally no space in the diaper bag. Waterproof. Perfect disposable bib! I got more directly thru the seller site and price was lower than at amazon, as well as shipping was less.

We used the heck out of these on a trip to France. It’s a great deal, and all these disposables are the same – certainly made by the same manufacturer. Only way I can imagine improving them is by making the area that the adhesive sticks to bigger than the adhesive, so they came off more easily (often have to tear – but it’s easy and normal to do so), and can be reused after any neat meals.
Fanny Thousand Oaks, CA
These bibs are fantastic. I ordered them for a vacation – the first we’ve taken with our 11 month old. We’ve always used reusable, cloth bibs, and I didn’t want to deal with rinsing and washing those while we were away. Here’s what I love about these bibs:- They’re bigger than you think. They’re actually bigger than several of my daughter’s cloth bibs, and as a result, she almost never gets food on her shirt while wearing one of these (a common occurrence with the cloth).- They fold up and take up virtually no space. Perfect for throwing in a diaper bag when you’re out or travelling.- The little pouch. They’re packed flat, so you pop the little pouch out when you put it on. The pouch works surprisingly well. I’ve always been leery of the hard bibs with the pouch (like the Bjorn bibs), so I can’t compare, but these catch a lot of food.- They stay on. The adhesive they use is pretty strong, and my daughter can’t pull her bib off on her own (unlike the cloth bibs that use velcro).- They’re cheap. $5 for 24 is an awesome deal for something that works as good as these do.- They’re disposable. Obvious, I know, but babies are messy, and bibs are gross after a meal. This shortens clean up time, which is great when you’re trying to get the tired baby into a bath and ready for bed before a meltdown. My only regret is that I didn’t try these sooner.

Helena Essex, VT
The perfect bib! Quality, thick material. A snap at the neck makes sure my 13m old cannot pull it off, and the snap pocket at the bottom, which is so important to catch the bites that miss his mouth, makes cleaning a breeze–when done eating, just unsnap the pocket to clean the bib as one flat surface…no more cleaning inside a pocket and hoping you get into each little crevice! When my other brand bibs wear out, I will only buy more of these.
Gwen Edna, TX
This can be washed in the washer, but I hang dry it. I usually just wipe it down with a sponge and hang dry it.It has a deep pocket and catches a lot of food that is spilled. My 10 mo son sits in a high chair with a tray, I just tuck the lip of the bib under his tray and it catches almost all the food that misses his mouth.

I bought these as a baby gift for a friend of mine – almost as a lark as they looked so outrageous, but I must say they are just so bright & colorful I’m sure the new baby will love them! They are a welcome break from the ‘usual’ pastel colored bibs, although I’m not quite sure on the actual ‘absorbancy’ of the pink ‘furry’ one. They are fun & different for when the little princess goes ‘out on the town’ with Mommy :).

I was looking for a long-sleeved waterproof bib for my toddler-to-be, and I first purchased this Bumkins bib. However, when it came in the mail, I noticed that it was advertised as lead-safe. Why safe but not free? I e-mailed customer support at Bumkins. They said:”In the past, the government limits on lead content have allowed us to claim lead free. Because of an increased awareness of the chemicals in commercial products, we now conform to the requirements established by the CPSIA and label our products lead safe. The composition of our product has not changed and does not exceed the established limits. All our products pass stringent testing and are labeled according to the required standards.”BUT Kushies is lead-free. So I bought a Kushies long-sleeved bib for our 2nd bib (we like to have 2 to alternate between using/washing). Both have their pros and cons. Here are Bumkins’:PROS1. Neck-tie strap, makes it easier to adjust to my baby’s narrow neck and prevent food from falling between his neck and the bib. Also prevents him from pulling the bib off.2. Thicker material (feels studier, but maybe that’s why it’s not lead-free?)CONS1. Not lead-free (but BPA/PVC/phthalates-free)2. The lining stains easily and is VERY hard to clean (I scrubbed it a lot and it’s still stained). Kushies’ lining is made from the same taffeta waterproof fabric as the rest of the bib, whereas the Bumkins lining is not, so the Kushies one is way easier to clean.I really wanted to like the Bumkins one (and I do love the neck tie) but Kushies gets my vote for lead-free. And the easier to clean is a big bonus for busy parents as well.

These bibs used to be the greatest, thin silky completely waterproof and fast-drying material. But the company moved production from the US to China and it is just not the same now. I wanted an extra for the diaper bag but the one made in China is much thicker and quite stiff. I thought it might soften up with time, but it hasn’t after a few months of daily washings. It is waterproof, but the stiffness causes it to get in the baby’s way and because it doesn’t flow over baby’s lap, more food ends up on the clothes. It also is much harder to wash due to the stiffness, and takes a long time to dry because of the thickness. But if you can find one of the old ones made in the USA, those are great! I had one Superbib for a couple years and then when this sleeved one was so disappointing, I went to a baby store nearby and looked through their rack and they had one sleeved one left that had been made in the US of the better material, and that one is fabulous. The old style is so soft and supple, super-comfy for baby, and a breeze to wash (I just dunk it in dishwater and rinse) and dries amazingly fast.

I really wanted to like these, because I like the style of the bandana for wear throughout the day instead of a traditional bib. However, the best way to explain the material is cut-out sweatpants (like Hane’s) with iron on pictures. There are two snaps in the back that allow for a little adjustment, but not as much as velcro. For the price, I was expecting better quality.

My 4 month old has a bib on at all times and these bibs are so much cuter than having your baby in a regular bib! The material is really soft and washes well.

I bought these to feed my 4 mo baby rice cereal. I thought they would cover a larger amount of his chest and stomach. The are still very absorbent, very soft material, and very stylish–you could almost use them as an accessory.
