When preparing to have our first child I bought one of each kind of swaddle, not knowing what we would like the best. We’ve also tried the standard ‘receiving’ blanket and some nice stretchy ones. This one we liked the least. My baby wiggles a lot when settling for sleep and every time she moved she would hear the velcro coming apart a little and it would bother her. She had a very hard time falling asleep in it. The Miracle blanket works best for her because it does a better job at keeping her arms down than others and doesn’t have noisy velcro on it. I’ve also tried the sleep sacks. As she’s getting more and more arm control I’m finding that she is slowly liking the “Halo Sleep Sack” better, but at night she still needs her arms confined. I also like the sleep sack idea because it is only one layer of blanket (where this SwaddleMe is two in the front when closed. The other thing I didn’t like about the SwaddleMe or the Miracle Blanket is that with my baby’s wiggling she invariably ends up with a gap between the feet sack and the top part and since we tend to use t-shirts rather than onsies her belly gets exposed and cold. So, I wouldn’t recommend this for an active, noise sensitive baby.
Sue Pembroke, VA
This was one baby gift I wish we would’ve returned before using – a recieving blanket works much better. I recommend waiting to see if your little one wiggles out of the blanket and needs this before buying.
Bertie Ledger, MT
This, and products like it, are nice, but simply not necessary. All you need is the right blanket and a lesson from your nurses at the hospital. In my opinion, if you register for this item and get it, great, but if you don’t, don’t fret!

My little man first received “the duck” as a baby shower gift. He fell in love with the duck at about 6 months old and it really needed a bath. Friends had a problem with their little one’s lovey needing bathing and belatedly purchased (at great expense over ebay as the item was no longer retailed). Unfortunately, the difference between the original lovey and the new lovey was discernible to their little one, so quickly both loveys were required! Didn’t want to fall into that trap… so we purchased a new “the duck.” It went through a couple of wash cycles and now they tag-team the little man.As a parent, I love that he’s latched onto a cute, organic product. Watching him toddle around the house with the duck in mouth (either by beak or foot) is precious. We try not to let him toddle with toys in mouth, but don’t have to worry about this one. Am also thrilled we were able to get a back-up in the house and into the rotation so that this lovey will have a bit more life to it.
Kara Frisco City, AL
Well made, cute, and organic! Washes well. My baby loves to chew on this bear and it is perfect size.
Phyllis Winchester, ID
I bought this in the hopes that my son will associate this bunny with nap time. It hasn’t worked but he loves to play with the ears and chew on them instead of napping, haha. I thought the entire bunny would be made of cotton but the label indicates that it’s made with corn and other items, all completely non toxic. It’s definitely smaller than I thought but it’s big enough for my 6 month old to hold and cuddle (covers his body but not the legs). It’s also a bit thicker than I thought.

Not the soft muslin blanket I was after. I’ve washed it probably 6-8 times in hopes it would relax a bit, but unfortunately it has that screen-printed crunch to it. I’ll stick with Aden & Anais for sure!
Jeri Climax, MI
Not what I thought it would be. Pattern is lovely, size is good but it feels more like a dish cloth then something I’d want to wrap my little on in. Good maybe for a sunshade in the car.
Allene Merryville, LA
This is a great swaddling blanket. It’s extra large size is perfect for older babies. My son is 4 months old and still needs to be swaddled on difficult tummy nights. It is light weight so it doesn’t overheat him when I put it over his Pj’s. Get’s softer as you wash it so don’t let the feel of it right out of the package fool you!

Love this lovie. We got two (this one and the robot) for our son who adores them. They have to be present at naptime, and I like how easy they are to wash.

I bought a $60 pottery barn (on sale!) sleeping bag, as well as this, so he has his options in daycare. My 22 mo old doesn’t really use this as much, but the ground is hard and so I wanted something padded. It’s not that large, and the pottery barn is much nicer, but not as padded. So I did both. It works well enough although the actual cloth isn’t the softest (the pottery barn is very very soft). The “blankie” on this thing is felt, not cotton. I’d say for half the price of the pottery barn, it is worth it.
Josefa Ceredo, WV
The blanket could be better but overall, we really like this mat. It’s warm and cushy and very cute. Perfect to use for naps at school, which is what we bought it for. We have had it for a while now and it has stood up to naptime accidents, regular washing, and multiple moves and both looks and feels brand new. I would definitely recommend for a daycare nap mat or something comfy for young kiddos at grammas house.
Pamala Hamilton, WA
This is probably the highest-quality nap mat ever. It’s padding is thicker than most other nap mats and the colors haven’t faded even a tiny bit after many washes. You have to remember though, these things are called nap mats for a reason. While they’re perfect for a 1 or 2 hour nap at daycare, this is no replacement for a toddler bed and I don’t think any toddler can possibly sleep comfortably on a nap mat for a whole night. That said, if you’re looking for a nap mat and not a travel bed for the whole night, John Deere’s nap mat is in my opinion the best. I love that the blanket is think and stiched to the napmat — Keeps little ones really warm and never falls off.

The large summer infant ComfortMe Wearable Blanket is a pretty solid product. Not only did I get to try the smallest size at the hospital recently (9lb 5oz baby boy), but I also get to try out this large size. The small size makes for a simple swaddle, especially for a uncoordinated Daddy. The large size is soft, roommy, and comfy with perfect armholes that aren’t too small or huge. The two-way zipper makes it easy so there are no "where is it?" moments. I also like that the zippers can be secured towards the bottom is the baby can’t get to them. Or get scratched. It also makes it easy to keep the baby warm while changing a diaper. Even for the big kids. It’s a hair too small for my tall daughter – fits the weight – but she uses it like a burlap potato sack racer. Win-win.

We’ve been using the Halo wearable blankets, so we wanted to give this a try.[Good]There’s blanket coverage for the arms. For some odd reason I never understood why the Halo product line never had this except for their swaddle blankets. It looks better than the Halo blankets, which look like weird dresses. You can unzip the bottom of the blanket to free up the feet if it’s too hot.[Ok]The Summer Infant version of ‘small’ is shorter than Halo’s. Without opening the bottom zipper, it’s already too small for our baby.Just like the Halo line, the arm holes aren’t very stretchable. Unlike the Halo sleep sack, it’s a little more stretchable so it’s less annoying to change the baby into compared to a Halo.If you unzip the bottom zipper, it’s possible for the blanket to ride up if your baby moves a lot in their sleep. The zipper placement to the side isn’t great so it makes changing a just a little harder. This is a minor complaint and I understand that there wouldn’t be a bottom zipper if the main zipper was placed down the middle.[Verdict]It’s different and worth a try.

Works great as an alternative to a blanket (which we really aren’t supposed to be using with the babies anyway under a certain age). It isn’t really a swaddler though cause babies hands can still move out and up onto their head during those sleeping "startle" moments. The point of a swaddler is to keep them all wrapped up so they don’t disturb themselves. Also, the ability to unzip the bottom for a diaper change is nice but I find that kind of goofy too because if you are changing your baby’s diaper while it is sleeping then…the baby woke up and started crying to tell you she/he needed a diaper change. So, it isn’t like you are disturbing the child for a change. Bottom line: It is a blanket alternative and a good one if your kid kicks blankets off in their swing, etc….It just isn’t a "swaddler".

Munchkin’s Swaddle Angel blanket takes swaddling to a new level. Beautiful patterns fresh from the runway meet functional features for a blanket that does more than your average swaddle.
- Double layer center panel provides extra warmth, but doesn’t overheat
- Loops attach to stroller for sun protection
- Multi use – baby tummy time, nursing cover, sarong
- Machine wash with cold water, air dry, do not iron, Lightweight, soft 100% Rayon made from bamboo
- Each blanket: 40″ x 40″ (101cm x 101cm)
These blankets are very soft and the patterns are beautiful. The extra padding in the middle is nice since the fabric itself is a bit gauzy. The size is perfect for swaddling, which can be hard to find. There are loops in the corner to help keep the blankets in place if you are using them to nurse or cover/shield your baby in a stroller. With my son, the blankets I had didn’t have loops and never stayed in place when using them with the stroller. My only concerns with these blankets are how well they will hold up to regular washings and how to avoid snags. My engagement ring has gotten caught on the fabric a few times. Luckily, no damage has been done to them, but I’m worried that they could snag on other things and get ruined.
Ina Mishicot, WI
First of all, these swaddling blankets are beautiful! The picture in the upper left corner of the page really does not show the nice print. One blanket is white with pink & burgundy flowers and the other is white with dark & light purple flowers and birds. Most baby blankets are not big enough to use for swaddling. These are a perfect size! There is a double layer of material in the center to provide more warmth for baby. These blankets are lightweight and very breathable – you never want them to go over baby’s face, but if they ever accidentally do, there is less suffocation risk with blankets like these. They can be used as swaddling blankets, regular blankets, and the loops on all 4 corners make this also good for a nursing cover or a stroller or infant carrier cover.Because they are made out of bamboo they are also eco friendly since bamboo is a fast growing resource. My only complaint is there was a slight odor when I opened the package. Maybe it is the dye on the material, I’m not sure, but I had to wash the blankets right away to get rid of most of the odor.I love items that do “double duty” and these blankets are very versatile, I would definitely recommend them!
Bridget Canones, NM
The Swaddle Angel blanket are so beautiful. They are so very soft and light. I love the added double layer center panel which adds extra warmth and privacy when nursing. The blankets are made from bamboo so they are eco friendly. The blankets have a loop on each corner to attach to the stroller, infant carrier cover, or for use as a nursing cover. The blankets cost more than regular swaddle blankets, but they are worth the difference. I recommend these blankets to any family with a new baby.

When i ordered this i was hoping it would save me from always using a blanket over my daughters car seat and keep the sun off her face. The print was nice and it fit on the car seat fine (i have chicco car seat) But i thought it opened all the way down so i could get my daughter in and out with out having to take it off but its a very small opening and its just to hard to try to get her out without taking it off, my daughter is 3months old and 10pounds 23in long shes a small baby and i cant imagine how it would be for a bigger baby,, My advice order the jj cole car seat canopy instead.
Bonita Southside, WV
Warning: It is completely black. I recalibrated my monitor to make sure my screen wasn’t off in color, but it is fine. The image is misleading with the blue. It is black and white with no exceptions. I was really disappointed that there wasn’t blue in it, but overall really like it. I wanted something manly for my baby boy and husband and it is def. manly.
Cynthia Penfield, NY
I use this at the doctors office and out shopping. Just think of all the people passing your baby carrying God knows what germs as they cough or sneeze. Or all those people who have the ridiculous need to touch a newborn with their dirty hands. Ugh. It’s great for when its too bright either in or out. Love it!

The HALO SleepSack Early Walker replaces loose blankets in the crib that can cover your baby’s face and interfere with breathing. With its unique foot openings, the SleepSack Early Walker wearable blanket allows for greater mobility while babies are awake, but also keeps little feet covered and warm while sleeping. In addition to helping your baby sleep safer, the HALO SleepSack wearable blanket helps your baby or toddler sleep better, too. It’s a warm cuddly blanket they can’t kick off; ensuring little ones sleep soundly throughout the night. The HALO SleepSack wearable blanket becomes the trusted bedtime routine, providing the secure feeling he needs to fall asleep fast and sleep soundly throughout the night. Used in over 1,000 hospitals nationwide, the Halo SleepSack wearable blanket is the No.1 choice of hospitals and recommended by safety organizations. A portion of every purchase goes to First Candle/SIDS Alliance and The Canadian Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths. Use over regular sleepwear to take the place of loose blankets. 100% polyester micro-fleece. Meets federal regulations for children’s sleepwear. Size large fits 22-28 pounds; size extra large fits 26-26 pounds.
- 100% polyester
- Generous sack design allows room for kicking, but can’t be kicked off so baby stays warm all night; Foot openings for mobility when awake.
- Unzips from the bottom for easy diaper changes
- Breathable fabric keeps baby warm and comfortable
If you read the product description it clearly states that the sleepsack is designed so that when the child is sleeping the feet can be pulled into the blanket. Although the sleepsack looks big at first glance, when the feet are pulled through the feetholes, it does NOT interfere with the baby’s ability to walk/run. I think that it is much more convenient this way because when my baby is ready to sleep, I can just pull her feet back into the sleepsack and not have to worry about her feet getting cold. I made the mistake of ordering up the first time around because my baby is big for her age but have since bought it in the proper size (12-18 months) and it is perfect for my 31 inch tall baby girl.
Deanna Bon Wier, TX
I have used sleep sacks with my son since he stopped being swaddled, and he’s almost 2 now. I love the fact that the blanket stays on him and doesn’t get kicked off. When he started walking I was concerned that he would stand up in his crib and trip on the sleep sack, so I was thrilled when I found the walker version. It has kept my son comfy and cozy all winter. This is a great product!
Beatriz La Pointe, WI
I was so excited to see these- my dd has been standing for a month now and her regular sacks drive her crazy, not to mention the bruises she has from falling while trying to stand in them. Unfortunately they are HUGE. I bought the 12-18 month thinking that since she was wearing 12 month clothing this would work fine. WRONG- its enourmous. I’m not sure when, if ever, she’ll wear it.

I bought a bunch of these just before the baby was born. As I was getting ready to be discharged from the hospital after giving birth, the pediatrician told us to only swaddle the baby for two weeks. When we got home, my baby let us know that she didn’t like being swaddled by squirming her way out of it and making noises that she was unhappy in it. So we never used these after the day we left the hospital. If you buy these… only buy one or two. Just in case your baby hates swaddling plus the useful life of this product is short. An alternate product to this one is the Halo SleepSack. I wish I would have bought these instead of the SwaddleMe blanket (straight jacket). The SleepSack has a much better design and the useful life is longer. My baby stays warm but not overly so. It is well designed.

I already have a Kiddopotamus brand swaddler and love it and need a 2nd one for daycare. When the swaddler arrived I realized it was NOT the same brand but instead is SwaddleMe brand. Liars.
Trisha Chazy, NY
Great item with room for improvement. I bought one of these in the newborn size, and i immediately got addicted. Even hubby learned fast how to use it!!! (see happiest baby on the block…swaddle, swaddle, swaddle….and it works!!!) However, since the newborn phase, my LO learned how to "break free" at least her little arms in the middle of the night. Ergo, she hits herself in her dreams when she falls back asleep then wakes up crying….so goodbye uninterrupted sleep for mommy as well. The neck area has only a couple of small darts to follow the contour of the shoulder, which are inadequate, unless I made the wrapping so tight that it leaves a mark on her side, she can break free. I think i will saw the shoulder together a bit more (sort of like on a t-shirt neck) so hopefully that will stop her "Houdini moves". Otherwise great product, not to mention organic and reasonably priced!!!
