Don’t waste time and money on this stroller!

I bought this stroller when our son was 1 month old and used it not even for 5 months and also occasionally. I found this stroller to be a piece of junk!! The back bends like a letter C and our son who is not even 6 months yet was so uncomfortable that I had to buy another stroller “Peg Perego Aria” and am so glad I did because it is much lighter than chicco and much sturdier. Peg Perego also has a bigger basket. In the end, I returned the Chicco, the customer service at BabiesRUs was so great that they gave us a store credit. Beware!!! The chicco stroller at the beginning seems to be great but after a while as the child gets older and heavier, the flimsy back bends!!! Don’t waste your time and money on this stroller!!!

Used to really like this stroller

My husband and I bought this stroller because as our son got older we found that our travel system was to heavy and bulky to carry around. We wanted a nice umbrella stroller for everyday use. At first we were happy with this stroller. It is compact, lightweight, and easy to maneuver. My problem was with the straps. I made them as tight as possible and my son could wiggle around quite a bit. This didn’t bother me at first (when my son was younger and not as mobile) but then I realized that he was sticking his arms through the straps and trying to get himself out of the stroller. The straps could not be tightened any more than they already were and I was worried that he was going to try and get out of the stroller it flip it over. This is an okay stroller but from a safety standpoint I was concerned. In the end, we retuned it and bought the Peg Perego Aria.

PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU BUY…

First let me say that I love the online reviews on this site. I use them all the time before making any major purchases and they have saved me a lot of money, time, and hassle. I have written several of my own reviews on other products as well. That being said, I have to say that I’m really very baffled by the reviews on this stroller. We bought it after much consideration and test driving at our local BRU store the other night. I have to wonder if the stoller we bought is the same one that so many others have complained about! The main issue seems to be the “flimsy cardboard back”. Well, on the one we bought, the back is made up of what feels like 3 sturdy plastic panels that I tried to purposely bend and couldn’t. Perhaps the design was very recently changed, but in any event, ours is definately not cardbord or flimsy. We have used it for 3 different outings and my 13 month old is happy as a clam in it. He’s fallen right to sleep in it 2 out of those 3 times. As for storage, yes, storage space is limited, but we’re not dealing with a travel system here. This is an umbrella stroller, folks, and I’ve yet to come across any umbrella stroller regardless of brand or price that has a large storage space. Same with the cupholder issue. We simply bought one at BRU for 5.99 and it fits great. Problem solved. Bottom line, I went with my gut on this one and I’m so glad that I did. This is a great umbrella stroller for those of you who are tired of lugging that bulky travel system everywhere and want something samller and easier to deal with. Plus, this one comes with a raincover so you don’t have to spend onother $20 to get one. Don’t be mislead by reviews saying that this is a bad sroller because it’s not. It’s sturdy, easy to use, and does everything a high-end umbrella stroller should. We love it.UPDATE 03/31/2006Ok, we’ve been using this stroller frequently for nearly 2 months now and I thought I would go ahead and update my review. It disheartens me to see that so many have had a problem with this stroller. I think what’s happening is that there are still a few of the older ones floating around out there that have the flimsy backs on them. Chicco fixed that problem and the newer ones are great. The back on ours is very sturdy and we haven’t had any problems with it at all. My son is almost 15 months and weighs just over 20 lbs and is still very comfortable in the stroller. He’ll sit in it for long periods of time and never fusses. In fact, he usually falls asleep in it. My point is, many of these reviews are not based on the stroller as it is now. Check it out for yourself and you’ll see. It’s a great buy for $90.00! We’ve thrown away the box and receipt, since I have no reason or intention to return it!

MY DAUGHTER LOVES IT!!

My daughter, who is 15 months old, loves this stroller. She loved it in the store and then when I got it home and put it together she was crawling all over it. The next morning I still had the stroller in the living room. She was in there with it watching some show on the disney channel. I came into the room and she was sitting in the stroller with her sippy cup watching tv. I have researched the heck out of the lightweight umbrellaish strollers–even buying and returning the mosaic and the pink jeep stroller. I hated the mosaic because it was so incredibly black and it was larger when folded then i wanted (and my daughter did not like it) the jeep stroller did not have any storage space and the seat was so small. This stroller is small when folded, but it fairly large when opened. I like how the seat is so large—she can actually sit in it with room to spare. With the other umbrella strollers it always seemed so uncomfortable because the seat part is so small. The basket is the perfect size and you can pick up a cup holder for like $5. You are definetly paying for the quality. Go and get it—you won’t be sorry.

Better than I hoped for!!! We love it!!!

After debating over a few brands and reading many reviews we decides to go to babies’r’us and give our top picks a test drive through the store. This stroller won me over even after reading the complaints people had about it. We found that it’s easy to push, the handles are nice and comfy, not to mention high enough so that you don’t have to hunch over to push the stroller, even my husband is comfy pushing it. It comes with an awesome rain/weather cover(that we have already used and love! My son is very comfy in it and I love that it reclines!!! Someone said the reclining feature is bad and it’s hard to recline a sleeping baby..this is so far from true, it is so easy to recline and you can do it as slow and smooth as you like. I have no problem reclining it with out waking my son.In comparing it to the Maclaren Triumph… the handles were higher, the seat reclines more and much easier, the umbrella has a pocket on the back (it’s were I stick all my things, like my phone and keys), it has a foot rest that can be put up for sleeping babies(the Maclaren dosn’t) and it was easier to fold up.I’ve had no problem’s with the back like other people, the basket is small but it’s an umbrella stroller! If your looking for something that holds a diaper bag, a purse and your groceries you should be looking for a full size stroller or a small SUV. It’s nice and small and doesn’t take up the entire trunk like our travel system stroller did. I put a diaper, wipes,a bottle, the rain cover and a burp rag in the basket and we’re good to go!I bought a cup holder to attach to the handle or I sometimes just put my drink in the hood pocket or the basket. My husband wasn’t happy with the $80 price tag, but after checking it out at the store he gave in! =) It’s the pefect umbrella stroller, we love love love it!!!
