This is a nice basic changing table, and looks good in our nursery. We also have the matching crib. This was easy to assemble and we didn’t have any problems with missing parts. I agree with other reviews that said that the changing pad that comes with it is flimsy. We bought an extra contoured one to put on top of it instead and have been happier with that. It is true, also, that this is not particularly sturdy, but I wasn’t looking for a family heirloom. Generally speaking, I expect any furniture that you have to put together yourself with an allen wrench is just not going to be super high quality. It’s sturdy enough to hold a baby and all kinds of stuff, though, and we’re happy with it. Good value for the money.
Leg and Arm Trap for Baby
This is a sturdy enough changing table and only took about an hour to assemble alone, the last part being the hardest. This is also a nice looking table. However, I am only giving it a 3 star rating because of the danger the open slots pose for the baby’s limbs. At three and a half months, my son wiggles quite a bit even while strapped down on the table. As such his legs and arms are constantly getting stuck within the gaps! If you are not super careful and aware of this issue you risk banging your child’s feet and hands against the wood when you go to raise them to wipe their hiney or remove them from the surface. I find it very aggravating to have to remove his arms and legs from within these gaps each and every time I change his diaper. Also, the included changing mat is quite thin and I’ve had to supplement it by laying some foam underneath it. In retrospect I wish I’d paid a little more $ for a table with an enclosed changing area.
Exactly what we wanted
A sturdy, attractive, functional changing table at a reasonable price. (We also bought the matching crib but haven’t set it up yet, as baby is still in a bassinet.) I love the classic style–simple yet elegant. The only drawback is that the changing pad it comes with is flimsy–but this is the case with most changing tables. Just buy a separate changing pad and you’re all set.
Easy construction, great buy.
Took 15 minutes to assemble as directions were clear. The product has a beautiful finish and the woodwork seems durable for its task! The product is lightweight and the size is also modest.
Sturdy for my big baby! Comes with a thin changing pad that I think works great (little one is only on the pad for 20 seconds). Have used it daily for 8 months and still holds up very well even with a 22lb baby trying to climb, chew, and jump off of it.
Matches my crib
Love the classic style of the Jenny Lind Changing Table. Looks great with my crib. This changing table really saved my back as it’s the perfect height to change diapers. I would walk upstairs to use this instead of my pack and play changer, which hurt my back as I had to bend over at an awkward angle to change diapers.
Perfect for my nursey
I wanted something unique and vintage like for my daughters nursery. I also got the Jenny Lind Crib. I love that they are made of real wood and feel really sturdy. I bought the Summer Infant contoured changing pad to go in it table and it fits nicely.
cute. The platforms of the shelves are a little cheap. Particle board maybe. Because of the quality of the crib, I didn’t expect this. But it does come with an unexpected bonus – a changing pad that you can just put a changing pad cover on and not buy an extra changing pad. With that down and things on the shelf, it’s adorable like the crib. The wood is very pretty and spotlessly finished in white.
An Excellent Value.
When we were outfitting a new baby’s room for our house prior to the October birth (2008), we selected a Jenny Lind crib. We liked it because the traditional style and relatively small size fit the room and our decor. Also, it seemed like an excellent value. We chose the cherry wood finish. That having been done, we then selected a matching Jenny Lind changing table. The Jenny Lind table is a fine piece of temporary furniture. We don’t expect it to become an heirloom and the sooner we’re done with it, the better. We’ll be happy to sell it or give it away to a couple expecting a new baby. The changing table was simple and easy to put together and seems sturdy enough and we appreciate the safety strap. The shelving provides adequate storage. The table was inexpensive and well worth the money. It’s been in constant use for the past four months and we have no complaints. We regard it as an excellent value.Gary Peterson
Good for the price
Good table for the price. Strap and pad are very cheap (we use a different pad with its own strap instead) but the rest of the table works very well.
Nice and simple
This changing table was easy to put together. It is nice and sturdy. I have the matching crib, it is a beautiful traditional set. The baskets I intended to put on the bottom shelf were to tall I’m not sure of the exact height but it is less than 13".
simple and i love it. i decorated it with colored baskets. i do recommend getting a contoured changing pad to put on top.
perfect for a girl or a boy
I really like this table. It is light and easy to move, easy to put together as well. The jenny lind design has that old style quality that still up to date and looks great. The wood pattern is fantastic and gives the room an understated look while really pulling everything together. Everyone who has seen it with the crib exclamim how pretty it is and how much it reminds them ofnwhen they were little or, from the grandmothers and older moms, how much it reminds them of when their kids were little. This desing brings back great memories at the same time as looking nicely and subtley chic.
not like the photo
this item is good looking, and go perfectly with the crib, however the color on the photo is absolutely diferentthe color of the honey oak look alamost like natural color.
Love it. A cloth diaper must.
A great unit. I love the vintage character of it but I wish that these manufacturers used a solid wood panel for the shelves. It makes no sense why they use some sort of cheap particle board instead. My husband is going to build a replacement shelving system down the road…like when we are not spending every second changing diapers. :)One “con” if you consider it to be one, is that the shelves have a lip on the edge that prevents one from just pulling out a basket on it.
Nice Changing Table! Good Value.
Really nice changing table! I accidently cracked a piece of it while assembling, and the manufacturer sent me a new piece in a week or so. Really easy to assemble.
Great–I love it.
I purchased this item to go along with the DaVinci Jenny Lind crib I had bought for my grandchild. It’s beautiful. It’s sturdy. It was easy to assemble. It has the right height and width and adequate storage (no amount of storage is EVER enough with a baby!)I have to admit that the previous 2-star review gave me pause but, after seeing and inspecting the other brand’s “Jenny Lind” changer on the market at Babies R Us, I decided to take a chance on this one and am so glad I did. Mine came perfectly well packaged, included all the hardware and simple assembly instructions, and had no odors, chips, or any type of damage. Amazon delivered it promptly. (Ditto for the crib).I think I will get many years of use out of it (and hopefully many grandchildren).
