Dr. Brown’s BPA Natural Flow Bottle Newborn Feeding Set

Dr. Brown’s BPA Natural Flow Bottle Newborn Feeding Set

The Dr. Brown’s Natural Flow Standard Baby Bottles offer a wonderful feeding experience with innovative vent technology. Dr Brown’s bottles use a patented 2-piece internal vent system for your baby’s comfort. This system creates positive-pressure flow for vacuum-free feeding that is similar to breastfeeding. The breast milk or formula flows freely without nipple collapse. As the baby feeds, air is channeled from the nipple collar through the vent system to the back of the bottle. Air never mixes with the breast milk or formula so oxidation is prevented, thereby maintaining essential vitamins such as C, A and E. The vent system eliminates air bubbles in the formula or milk, which helps to reduce feeding problems like colic, spit-up, burping and gas. Dr. Brown’s bottles are completely BPA, PVC, lead and phthalate free for your baby’s safety. The Newborn Feeding Set comes with 3 8oz/240ml Standard bottles, 2 4oz/120ml Standard bottle, 2 extra Level-Two silicone nipples, 2 Storage/Travel caps and 3 “cleaning” brushes are small nipple brushes and they are INSIDE the bottles. .

they are a horrible company horrible product

I used dr browns.bottles for two weeks after my lo was born. However although they claim dishwasher safe after 4 washings ( top rack) and there were 4 other types of bottles in the dishwasher, they came oyt with the awful smell of burning plastic. No other bottle kept that smell, it permeated my home for days!!! I contacted the company as i had over 30 bottles and was told i did something wrong, they even sent me a copy of their instructions and told me to send all thebottles back. I asked what they were goimg to do and they offered me a 3 pack of their bottles in exchange for my 30. It was offensive and disgraceful. Their rep was condescending and rude and after we hung up she emailed me the same offensive info. Disgraceful company. Thank god my child didnt drink from these as he could have gotten sick. The smell in the air was awful enough!!

Great bottles for preemies!

My son was born 5 weeks early, and weighed in at a whopping 4 lbs, 6 oz. Because his digestive system was still immature, he was extremely difficult to burp, which caused MAJOR gas issues. After going through 2 bottles of Mylicon in the first 2 weeks after he was born, I decided to give these bottles a try. Wow! I saw a difference after the first feeding. I went to burp my son, expecting to spend my usual 15-20 minutes trying to get him to burp, and imagine my surprise after two minutes this HUGE burp came out of this tiny baby! And an hour later, he was happy as a clam, where in the past, he would have his legs pulled up to his chest, in pain from gas.I don’t understand what the problem is that people have with cleaning the bottles. So they come with two extra parts…big deal. I hand-wash my bottles, and sterilize them in the dishwasher about once a week, and after the first few washes, the extra parts were a non-issue. I also can’t figure out how people can’t seem to get the beige vent or the tube clean. Unless you let your bottles sit for days until the forumla gets caked on, a simple soaking in hot water and dish detergent before using the special brush should be all that is needed to keep the vent and the tube clean. If that doesn’t work, then you can always boil the pieces for about a minute to sterilize them, without the pieces becoming distorted. I also shake the vents and tubes out after washing to dislodge any water that might be remaining inside the holes. Also, if necessary, I have seen in the Babies R Us store that they sell a 2-pack of vents, as well as a 2-pack of tubes in case the need for new ones arises. My only complaint is that the bottles do leak if they fall on their side for a period of time, so that can be a little tricky when traveling in the diaper bag. I solved that problem by pre-measuring water and putting it into one of my Medela breast pump bottles (which come with lids). Then, while I’m out, I just add formula to the breast pump bottle and shake, then I pour the formula into the empty Dr. Brown’s bottle. Problem solved!I would definitely recommend these bottles to anyone who has a newborn that has serious burping and gas issues!

well Worth The Price

These were by far my sons favorite bottles. He had very little gas, he adapted to the nipple VERY easily, and they are easy for him to hold now that he’s older. Very simply, Put these on your registry, you won’t be sorry.

Dr. Brown is my hero

In an effort to stop my son’s painful gas, I have been through countless bottles. I did not want to try the Dr. Browns because of all the parts and they seemed too complicated. Once I gave in, I was glad I did. The bottles are not at all hard to wash or assemble. These bottles have greatly reduced my son’s discomfort.Someone wrote that they had problems with the bottles leaking. If the tube assembly is crooked and not on straight, the bottle will leak. So put it on straight and there’s no problem!I only wish they came with more than 2 storage caps. The caps are very handy unlike the little discs other bottles have for you to put in the bottle rings.

MIRACLE BOTTLES!!!!

I admit, I was extremly skeptical… my mother actually bought these for me b/c my preemie son was in pain all of the time from gas and the only thing that slightly helped was the Playtex Nursers, and he was still in pain a lot of times. We tried everything to help him. Then she brought me these.. and he has not had a problem since… My son is a happy baby again!!!! I am so happy with these. I read on here that cleaning them is a pain.. but that is just not so. I hand clean bottles anyways and it is so simple to clean these bottles, I can’t believe that ppl are so lazy as to complain about a couple extra seconds to run a brush in 3 holes. Gimmie a break. I also clean a bunch of parts for my pump, so I just do it all at once. OH!!! And these bottles fit on my Medela pump, so I can just pump right in the bottle!!!! And we havent had any leaks, btw… these things are GREAT. Oh, and they also make a widemouth version that you can get at Babies R Us… I wish I had gotten these earlier.. my son is 7 weeks (he was born at 32 weeks, btw) and he is a different baby with these bottles.

The only bottle my daughters would take!

I am a breastfeeding mom and I had a hard time to get either one of my daughters to take a bottle. I tried EVERY bottle out there, and Dr. Brown’s bottles seem to be the ONLY bottles my daughters would accept. This may be due to the fact that Dr. Brown’s nipples do not collapse when the babies suck, the nipple is perfect shape and size, the flow is consistent and the unique design eliminates the air bubbles, so there’s definitely less gas than we experienced while trying other bottles.I took away one of the stars because of the minor problems we had with this set: these bottles require more time and effort to clean, they leak occasionally [no, I didn’t fill them above the line and no, I did not overtighten them – have no idea why they leaked], the larger bottles do not fit in most of the insulated bottle totes that come with diaper bags or sold exclusively for baby bottles [and that was a little bit of a problem for us, because we only use bottles when going places, but we solved it by using a larger/taller insulated lunch bag from Ikea store] and the 4-oz bottles that come in this set will be outgrown pretty quickly. My younger daughter is 7 weeks old and she eats 4 oz per feeding and looks like she could eat more if only the bottle would hold more…I would recommend getting a set of 3 9-oz Dr. Brown’s bottles as it looks like a better value and will serve you longer (you can pour as little milk or formula in a 9 oz bottle as you need, while 4 oz bottles will only hold 4 oz max, and will be useless in a couple of months at the latest).

Good butt…

I loved the results this bottle brought we have had no gassiness or colick like behavior from my son. My only complaint is that there are so many pieces to wash and keep track of… it becomes a bit of a hassle for a new mother who is exhausted and would rather sleep than wash dirty bottles. The bottle contains five pieces two of which are rather difficult to wash and will cause you to spend more time with your sleeves rolled up at the kitchen sink. However the desired result is noticeable my son is not a gassy baby!

Dr Brown, It worked for us!!

This bottle solved these problems for us:GasSpit UpMilk leaking out of baby’s mouthlow birth weight(she just wouldn’t eat much)My baby started out life as a breastfeeder and at 2 weeks was diagnosed with a milk allergy. She was not gaining weight. She was switched to soy. I didn’t want to try these bottles. I tried Gerber, Evenflo, Playtex, Avent. My mom read that they helped with colic and so she brought me one. I used that one bottle for two days until I could get to the store. Since then, I have retried all of those other bottles. She started eating less and losing more of it out the side of her mouth and spiting up again. This is her favorite. So it is worth it to me.

Love That Dr. Brown!

These bottles are wonderful and really work to reduce gas. However, at the risk of sounding like a lazy (or exhausted) mom, there are a lot of parts that have to be taken apart and then put back together just right for cleaning and sterilizing. If colic is an issue, it is definitely worth it, but my daughter does just fine with drop-ins bottles.

Beware of Chipping Paint

I absolutely love these Dr. Brown’s bottles but was extremely flabbergasted to find that the paint was starting to chip off the bottles! I would have given 5 stars if it weren’t for the paint. This is the first time this has happened to me. It never happened when my baby was using Avent bottles. Just be careful and throw any bottle away if the paint starts chipping. It happened to 2 of the 6 bottles I own which is a bummer because these bottles are not cheap! As for Dr. Brown’s bottles — they are FANTASTIC! My now three month old was suffering from horrible gas pains using Avent bottles. Just after ONE DAY of using Dr. Brown’s bottles, there was a significant difference! Though babiesrus.com does not sell the wide neck bottles, they are available in-store at Babies R Us. I prefer those over the traditional tall bottles. The nipples on the traditional bottles are a bit small – which is great for newborns but once your baby gets a little older, the nipple becomes too small. The drawback is that if you do decide to get the wideneck Dr. Brown’s bottles, you cannot interchange the parts from the traditional sized ones you already own.At first glance, the parts are a bit overwhelming and if you do you not have a dishwasher (like me), it does add cleaning time but having a happier baby (less fussy/gassy) is definitely worth the extra few minutes!

Sanity saver for us

At 2 months old our little guy was so fussy and we had tried 3 different formulas and almost every bottle. Finally we tried Dr. Brown’s and literally overnight our cranky little man turned into a sweet baby who slept normally and cried only when hungry or tired or poopy. Before he cried all the time and we never knew why…and I thought we just had to wait it out until he was four months and they say fussy babies mellow. These bottles are not that hard to clean and worth the extra little effort it does take since it obviously helps with gas. The liquid flows so easily and the baby does not have to suck so hard- I highly recommend even if you don’t have a fussy baby because they seem to work the way a bottle should.

Great Bottles

I love these bottles. Yes they have 2 extra pieces (big deal), but I don’t care I didn’t want to chance it with my baby. She is 8 weeks today and I have not had a problem with gas or anything of the sort yet – knock on wood. They we recommended to me from a male colleague of mine who was having terrible trouble with his newborn before he decided to switch over. Since than no reported problems – baby is happy. I have never had a problem with leaking either. They are a bit more pricey – but I’ll take that over a screaming baby. I suggest getting more of the 8 oz bottles & not spending the money on the smaller ones, they’ll grown out of them quickly. I’m also thinking that as she gets older I can omit putting in the 2 extra pieces and save some time. Hope this helps – I based alot of my decision on these reviews and my colleague/friend.

Only bottles I ever want to use!!

These bottles are the best. I read reviews on all the bottles and picked these as the bottles to use on my son after all the good reviews. And they work great. Only pain is they take more time to clean. So I tried Avent because of less parts to clean but they leaked and my son has a had time getting formula from the nipple. So I realized I need to just clean those extra parts and stick with Dr.Browns bottles.

I Like Going With This Flow

When our first child was born (she’s six now), we had no idea as to what type of bottle to use. Many friends and relatives suggested the highly popular Avent bottles. Based on a few of the reviews here, it looks as if Avent is still pretty popular. However, we had numerous problems with our daughter while she used the Avent brand. She had terrible gas, was difficult to burp, and spit up fairly regularly. When our new son came along, we were given a set of Dr. Brown’s Natural Flow bottles as a gift. I was skeptical at first, especially since there were so many parts to clean. However, our son has had absolutely no problems with these bottles. He burps easily, and we’ve had no flow problems or collapsing nipple problems as others have mentioned. The bottles are excellent. I don’t recommend using a dishwasher to clean these bottles. I’ve found that handwashing, though a bit tedious, is better. Let’s be honest, it’s tough to clean EVERY bit of these bottles without using the handy brush that comes with them. As for folks who claim it takes too long to clean them when the baby is hungry, I’d suggest washing the bottles before you run out. I usually wait until my son is down to one bottle and then I wash all of the rest of them. That way I am not always rushing to clean a bottle. As far as the leaking problem that some have mentioned, I only noticed leaks whenever I or my wife didn’t have the top firmly on the bottle.I highly recommend these bottles. In a “rush hour” world they might seem tedious when it comes to cleaning, but it’s worth it if it makes my child’s life a little easier.

Great for Gas and Spitting Up

this would be the perfect bottle if it had the Natural Latch Nipple. the wide neck come close…really worked for my daughter who had a lot of gas and colic periods.i just can’t understand why they would make such a great bottle and notuse a natural latch nipple??

What a pity!!!

What a wasted opportunity with this bottle. It’ s true…our baby fed better on this bottle than any other: it reduced his spitting and he was no longer gassy after weeks of distress on various bottles (Avent, NUK, Chicco). Also, cleaning was really not a big deal and if you clean it right after usage it’s really no significant extrawork. HOWEVER, amidst the joy of finding a good bottle for my son’s gassy tummy, I have noticed it’s leaking and it’ s leaking badly. I’ve had lots of patience in trying to screw it tighter, better, etc…because I really thought the rest was excellent; I even bought a new one…still the same. So, once the baby turned 3 months old the bottles were gone. I’m glad I only bought 2. I guess if you have a baby with colics 1 bottle is worth the money, but i would not spend more. And I am back to all the other bottles I mentioned.

Take if from someone who knows…

I don’t know why but i felt compelled to write another review about these bottles. I cannot say enough… except what are you people complaining about ??? These bottles are not expensive when compared to buying stupid refill liners and trying a bunch of different bottles, and can you really put a price on a happy baby ? They are not hard to clean unless possibly you are letting the used bottles sit around to dry up and get yucky. They do not leak if you use them right and follow the instructions included. I rotate 6 bottles, keeping them washed and filled with formula (in the fridge of course), when baby is hungry i simply take one out and remove all parts and warm it up, which is not hard to do, then replace parts, feed baby, and rinse the bottle out and fill sink with hot soapy water, drop all parts in.. let soak, then rinse and put to dry on drying rack. What is so hard about that ? (do boil the parts prior to first use and then about every 2 weeks or so) I don’t even know where the little brush is that came with my bottles, don’t need it. And I have “inspected” them afterwards, they are clean. and I should say that i usually use the ready to feed formula, I hate having to mix the powder. But the times that I do use the powder i just mix in separate container and pour into the Dr. Brown’s. So what you can’t shake the bottle, you can “swish” it, you really shouldn’t shake any bottle anyway, that’s where the bubbles come from. I have used these bottles for 4 months, Katie is 4 1/2 mos. old. She had terrible colic for the first 2 weeks of her life, she would scream and ball up in pain from 11 pm to 5 am every nite until I tried Dr. Browns. (I had used Avent and VentAire first, what junk.. also everyone kept telling me to try Soy or one of those special colic formulas, which are expensive, but I still use Similac Advance b/c the Dr. Browns bottles work) The FIRST day I used Dr. Brown’s she slept all nite, I still didn’t sleep though but that is just because I stared at her all nite in amazement ! I have NEVER had one of these bottles leak at all. I just don’t get what all the complaining is about, I would do whatever it took to make my baby happy. If your baby doesn’t have colic or get gas then maybe you don’t need these. However, I am such a fan that with my next baby I will use these, I will not wait to see if the baby has colic or not. Another plus is that these bottles are designed to help with ear problems too. I really cannot say enough good about them, i have used both the standard, and the wide-neck, both are great in doing what they are designed to do but i (and baby) prefer the wide neck ones. I suggest skipping the purchase of the 4 oz bottle and go straight to the 8 oz, baby grows out of 4 oz size quickly, you can put 4 oz in an 8 oz bottle but cannot put 8oz in a 4 oz bottle, you know what i mean ? PLEASE take it from someone who knows.. try these bottles, you won’t be sorry.. baby’s tummy will thank you.

Great bottles to reduce air!

My daughter has allergic colitis and as a result her tummy gets very gassy. I found these bottles and fell in love! The only downfall is the nipple flow. The slow flow is still way too fast, so I switched the nipple to use my Playtex Airvent slow flow nipples with these bottles and it was the perfect match! Also, you cannot mix formula in these bottles or it will get EVERYWHERE! So beware!

Best Bottles Hands Down!!

These are the best bottles ever. The unique design cuts down on the amount of gas your baby swallows. This leads to less spit up and gas fussiness. Just a good healthy burp! The bottles are easy to clean and assemble and clean up well in the dishwasher. I’d suggest the Dr Brown’s bottle drying rack as well. It will make the job much easier.
