I never need to keep food warm. Does not suction to textured surfaces

I actually bought this plate thinking that it was a simple suction cup plate. I was looking for something with multiple sections that would suction to my daughter’s highchair. I didn’t realize until I got it that it was a "warming plate." (this might made me sound very silly)This product is big! Because there is a well to fill with warm water, the size of this bowl is quite large. The serving part of the bowl is much higher than the highchair because of the warming reservoir. The suction will *not* stick to anything that has texture. 1 tray on our highchair has been nicked up from cutting my daughter’s food with knives. This bowl will not stay adhered to that tray. The suction cup is very large (the whole bottom of the bowl).I wasn’t sure why anyone needs to keep their baby’s food hot. We never worried about my daughter’s food staying at a certain temperature. We don’t worry about that for ourselves! We didn’t teach her to care about the temperature of her food, so she never cared. This aspect of this bowl confuses me.After buying some cheap bowls with a removable suction cup, this bowl went into storage. It wound up being a waste of money for us.

Awesome!

I have used this plate every single day since my daughter started solids at 6 months. She is now a year old, and I am purchasing my second warming plate for her (I’m getting tired of having to wash a dish between meals and snacks – I’d rather have a second one handy). I have a hot water tap (Insinkerator), and the spigot exactly fits into the hole of the plate. Putting hot water in the dish is easy-peasy, and the food really does heat up very nicely. I have some other Green Sprouts items that I am honestly not very fond of, but this dish really is worth its price and then some.

Suction isn’t that good…

My 11 month old pulled this dish off of his tray within seconds of me putting it on there. I bought it because I loved the fact that it was a divided plate and suction…I went to BabiesRus and bought Tommee Tippee’s suction plate and it works wonderful… so save your money on this one and get Tommee Tippee’s it also has other dishes that work with the suction mat… great product!!

Suction holds for some time, keeps things warm

This bowl isn’t the item you want if you want to quickly bring food from fridge temp or frozen, unless you plan on taking things out at least an hour ahead of time. That said, it does keep food nicely warm and the weight of the water does help, in my opinion, with keeping the suction down for as long as it stays down.I wouldn’t leave my child unsupervised with this plate, especially when it was full of hot water.Another note, the manufacturer could have thought of an easier way of getting the water inside.

Love this!

My son (5 months) old and just started eating baby food.I feel good knowing that I am not putting his food in a container that could leach harch chemicals into it with this plate. I also purchased the utensils and bowl to go along with them. You are not supposed to put them in the dishwasher or microwave, but that didnt matter to me- you shouldn’t put baby food in the mic anyways. I plan to purchase more when he starts eating more too.

Suctions well, holds heat

Just as a rebuttal to other reviews: the plate does stick well to the surface, but you have to flip the suction ring first, so that the wide side sits on the table surface. For some reason it arrives with the detachable ring attached upside down (perhaps for easier packing?). Otherwise it looks cute and holds heat well.

Baby Food Warming Dish

I scoured the net to find this nearly-forgotten type dish ! No microwaving necessary for Baby’s food! Be sure to take suction ring off bottom , flip over and reattach for great suction hold on table or highchair tray. Got one for a BabyShower gift, one for my daughter for use at her home and one for myself when I watch my Grandaughter.

This is not too good, handicap is shallow, and not very hot water, is used in winter, but found that use is not too large

A too shallow, then cannot be injected into the hot water, so this bowl in the winter can not realize its value, but the material is environmentally friendly, but also very reassuring, will change in the design, will be very good

Great bowl.

Great bowl. Keeps food warm for a long time. Has held up great to multiple feedings and hand/diswasher washings. This is especially nice using with the food grinder and your own home cooked food. Keeps the food warm while you are all eating the same meal

Works well, a bit pricey

I used to use a nesting method of glass bowls and hot water to keep my baby’s food warm. While this was economical, it created a lot of dishes and the worry about flailing little hands landing in the food and hot water. This plate works well but is a bit pricey. Other reviews have said they worry about not being able to fully dry the warming part of the bowl but with a butter knife, a little elbow grease and a gentle touch, it is possible to pry the bottom off to dry. This slight design flaw is annoying, especially at this price point, but I suppose it needs to be on there tight so water doesn’t spill if the plate were to get tipped or removed from the suction ring. A good item to have in your barrage of baby feeding equipment.UPDATE (2/27/12): My son is almost 2 now and instead of using the divided top portion of this plate, I am using the “water reservoir” as a bowl/plate instead. It works pretty well with the suction cup, if he doesn’t rip it off his tray first. It can get a little tricky depending on the food he’s eating because the sides on the bottom aren’t very tall so the food doesn’t always land on the spoon/fork.

Great Bowl!

strong suction, holds hot water to help warm refrigerated foods quickly and has good size compartments for food. Suction is removable as well if you don’t require it

suction doesn’t work well

My son loves this bowl but it only sticks for about 1 minute or 2. I must have received a defected one because I flipped the ring over and even moisture it a little but this bowl really doesn’t stick as well as the Boon spill catcher bowl. I’ll keep it because it does keep the food warm, maybe my son will be able to use it when he’s a little older.

Nice and warm but doesn’t stick reliably

It keeps food pleasantly warm, and is easy to clean. The only downside is that the suction cup on the bottom doesn’t work reliably, and my 7 month old can pull this off without much effort.

I may have to buy another one!!!

I absolutely love this warming plate. One of my top 10 things I have purchased since having my daughter. I make her food and have found that she eats some foods much better when they are kept warm. I highly recommend. Keep in mind this is not to warm foods, but keep them warm. I think I saw this mentioned as a disappointment. Thinking about buying another as a spare and for our travel bag. You can’t beat it for the price.

Happy I bought it

We don’t have a microwave, nor do we want one. I needed something to heat my daughter’s food that was quick and easy. I just bring water to an almost boiling point, pour it in the bottom of the warming dish, wait a few minutes, stir the food, and it’s all set to feed. This is easy to clean as well.

I use this every day to keep the little one’s food temperature just right. I like that it has the water chamber, and it is easy to clean.

Not That Useful

Hard to pour hot water into the little bitty hole, and doesn’t really keep the contents warm without putting something over the top. Would be better with (a) lid(s) and a bigger hole to pour the hot water into. I never use it anymore.

Not very useful

It’s just a specialty baby item, really. A regular bowl works just as well, all this does is keep the food warmer for a couple of minutes. My baby doesn’t care when her food gets a little colder, so it didn’t make it worth the extra steps to use it and then wash it. I suppose if your baby was fussy about food temperature this would be great, but for me it wasn’t anything special. The suction cup also never stuck as well as I would have liked. My baby could pull it off the tray without trying very hard.

Good buy

This was a good buy. When I bought it, I wasn’t sure how well it would actually work. I was pleasantly surprised with it. It kept the food warm and the best par is that it actually stayed suctioned to the tray unlike many other dishes I’ve tried. I used it to feed my 6 month old and he hit the bowl and it didn’t move at all. Overall, vey good but!

We use these every day

We use these every day for lunch and dinner. We do not put the water in them or use the suction part right now because we are still feeding the babies. Because some things are fed warm and others not…we found that it wasn’t necessary to put the warm water in the bottom.

wish this had a lid

this would be great, but green sprouts should add a lid. we really wanted this for when we are going out to eat and need to bring food with us for the baby. we can’t actually do that with this b/c there is no lid. bummer.

We use it every day

Nice size compartments for meals. The hole for the hot water to be poured into is kind of small and the flip top tends to splash hot water all over when closing it. I am not really sure how I would fix these issues, but just something to be aware of.Also, be sure to close the flip top when putting into the dishwasher.

Green Sprout Plates

Not my favorite plates to use but it still works. The size is pretty small with 3 mini sections. I’m probably going to use this as a snack plate rather than for main meals since it does not fit everything.

Great little dish

I bought this for my 6 mo. old grandson to use when he visits…my daughter liked it so much I ordered one for them to have at home. It does a good job keeping the baby’s food warm.

Handy for those without a microwave

I wish I had found this product sooner. My son was already well into self-feeding and finger foods when I purchased a few of these, but I got them primarily because we have no microwave. I have tried all sorts of other ways to re-heat his food, and this is probably the most convenient and simple way I have found so far. I heat water in my kettle, and–very carefully–pour it through the very tiny opening in this plate. Liquid food heats up quickly, though finger foods need more stirring and time.I do wish the opening were larger. But it’s not the end of the world.I bet if I had this plate when my son was just starting out on solids, I would have used it all the time.

What was all the fuss about?

I read the reviews on this plate and it sounded perfect! However, I’m disappointed as it does not keep food warm! The plate can not be microwaved either, so when the food does cool down, my child has to either eat it cold or I have to transfer the food to another plate to warm it up. Very difficult to separate the plate too for washing. I wouldn’t recommend it!
