Has not lived up to my expectations…
I returned the first one because the loop that goes over the hanger got tangled up and stretched out and the plastic bar in the self sealing opening broke through the fabric after just 1 wash. I LOVED this at first and left a glowing review on the company’s web page which, I regret. I have only washed this a few times as to prevent wear and tear on it yet, with each wash, the "self-closing" flaps become weaker and it no longer self-seals so the stench comes out anyways, making this useless and not at all worth the $35 I paid for it. I loved the color and was excited that it matched my sons room deco but, I have since had to move it to the laundry room to keep the stink at bay.
Great diaper wet bag
This large hanging wet bag option has worked great for us. It hangs well and stays out the reach of our toddler. It is very easy to put diapers in and the zippered bottom makes getting them out to wash easy as well. Just unzip the bag over the washer! The only con, stopping it from getting 5 starts, is after not yet two months of use, the boning around the top has begun to shift. So far I have been able to mostly re-straighten it, but I wonder how it will wear in the following months. I do put it in the washer, roughly once/week.
I love it!
I really love this product — it’s the best pail I’ve found for my kids’ cloth diapers. The zip off bottom is great so I don’t have to reach in and grab everything and it airs out nicely so there is not a need to wash it constantly. The only thing I don’t like is that the plastic that rounds out the front on mine came a little bent so it doesn’t hold it’s shape correctly. This is purely an aesthetic issue and I’ve thought about emailing GroVia about it but just don’t care enough — I think it’s from how it was packaged.
Not up to normal GroVia standards
Blah. I wanted to like this pail so much. We are exclusive GroVia diaper users and I had to have this pail, the concept was perfect for our needs. However, the plastic boning wore a hole in the material and fell out after about 2-3 months. Customer service was awesome. They acknowledged there was an issue with some pails and sent a new one right away and I returned the old one. Unfortunately the same thing happened with the replacement. This time they offered to send another or give me store credit. I took the store credit and they let me keep the pail. I’ve only had the second one a few months and along with the fraying hole from the plastic boning, the zipper is a really inferior quality for something I use so regularly. I really liked the concept, but the quality is severely lacking compared to their diapers. A high quality zipper and a fix for that plastic boning issue and I’d buy another one. Until then, I’m sticking with the Planet Wise hanging diaper bag.
Really good pail
I love my pail for ease of use, opening the bottom over the washer is great. It does not contain smell as well as I would have hoped though. I do was my diapers at least every 2 days, but the smell still escapes a little. I often toss the pain in the was too and that helps, but does not prevent. I love that all I have to do is attach a hanger and hang it up. I also love the surf color!
very disappointed, Grovia
I was so excited when I saw this hanging diaper pail. I thought it would be the answer to all my probelms. I’d hang in next to the washer and it would be out of the way, contain the stink and very roomy, right?… Wrong! It only hangs on a regular clothes hanger, which will inevitably break as it get heavier when you fill it with dirty diapers. I even bought the super sturdy hangers and they just kept on breaking, and it wasn’t even ever more than half full! I also tried wooden coat hangers and that broke too. Then, to wash I had to unzip a lil and turn the whole thing inside out or else soap suds would collect and stay inside. It says you can machine dry, but I now know through experience that you should not machine dry PUL. The only think I appreciated about this is that it contained the stink, it did do that. But I’d have to wash it every single time I did diaper laundry leaving me with no other bag to use while it was in the wash. I certainly wasn’t going to drop another $30 on a second bag. The most unforgivable thing about it was that the boning rod that created the roundish opening popped out of its seem! So basically it broke after only 1 month of use (and maybe a handful of washings and line drying). I can’t have a diaper pail be that frail and need that much care. As soon as it broke I sent it back… Thanks Amazon for giving me my money back. Would not recommend. Grovia usually makes great products. Don’t know what happened here.
Started breaking within 3 weeks of use. The plastic boning material started coming out. Seams ripped. After 4 months, the zipper completely fell apart, rendering this item completely un-useable. I followed the manufacturers care instructions and used this daily. I am now using a different brand.
