Great for when your baby gets too big to be swaddled
When our son started escaping from the receiving blankets we’d swaddle him in, we started using a sleep sack. It took a couple of weeks for him to adjust to it, but now he loves it and goes right to sleep when we put it on him and set him in the crib. He is 30 inches tall and about to outgrow the medium, so we have a large ready for him. He rolls all over the crib during the night and the sleep sack moves with him. It is never pulled tight or twisted. We dress him in something with long sleeves so that his arms stay warm and during the colder winter nights we added “No-Scratch Mittens” from Babies R Us to keep his hands warm. When our son was still in a bassinet, the sleep sack worked well with a sleep positioner to keep him on his back. When swaddled he would scoot out of the positioner, but with the sleep sack his arms were above the positioner and he stayed in place. I’ve washed both a cotton and a fleece sleep sack dozens of times and they held up great. There’s no shrinking, fading or unraveling and the zippers still work perfectly. The sleep sack is the perfect way for our son to stay warm at night and I am so glad I have it.
NOT the same quality as the fleece one!
I loved the fleece version of this and bought the cotton one for summer. Big mistake. Don’t waste your money. The cotton is not pre-shrunk, so when you wash it the first time and it shrinks, the zipper ends up being too long, which causes the fabric to gather/bunch up. Very disappointed.
Perfect for wamer climates
This product is fantastic!I live in Texas which has cool winters, but not frigid ones. I put the sleepsack on my newborn over a footed cotton sleeper, and she’s very cozy and content. I would recommend it over the fleece sack for folks who live in warmer climates. That would be too much. I imagine the thickness of the cotton sleeper will work well during warmer months as well coupled with a lighter sleeper or onesie underneath. In addition to doing a great job keeping my baby warm, this product is wonderfully soft and well-designed. It’s roomy and should fit my baby for a while (unlike most things you buy for baby!). And, best of all, it unzips from the bottom to the top. So, you don’t have to completely undress baby for those late-night diaper changes.I highly recommend buying two or three to use every night. I only wish I had discovered the sleepsack with my first child.
Like a Potato Sack!
This Halo Sleep Sack is rough, thin and not what I would expect a baby to wear. The pattern is awesome but the fabric is just awful!!!! I’m sending it back TODAY
We use it every night
I’ve used the Halo sleepsacks for months. I have the cotton one for when it’s warmer and the fleece one for when it’s colder. The cotton ones shrink quite a bit. My baby is 8 months old and I already have her in the Large (12-18 month) size. Sometimes she kicks like she doesn’t really like having her feet encolsed, but she doesn’t seem to like having blankets on her either and at least with the Sleepsack she does’t wake up tangled up in it or off her all together like with blankets. Blankets are easier to use though because sometimes it’s not fun getting her in the Sleepsack. The zipper is loud so if I have it laid out in her crib and put her in it while she’s sleeping the sound of the zipper sometimes wakes her up. They need to invent a silent zipper! =)
A safe alternative to blankets
With SIDS to worry about, I really do sleep more soundly at night knowing that my baby is warm but not at risk of being smothered by a loose blanket. The bottom-to-top zipper really is convenient for diaper changes, and while the sleepsack did shrink somewhat in the wash, that really hasn’t affected its fit on our baby. We went from a fleece sleepsack (infant size) to a cotton one (medium) when the weather started getting warm. Our baby is big (11 lbs 22 1/2 inches at 6 weeks), so we got a medium (one size larger than recommended) hoping it would fit all summer. We shouldn’t have worried. The sizes are very generous, but even a very big sleepsack works – there’s enough room to grow into without being loose enough at the arm- or neckholes to cause tangling or a smothering hazard. Overall, I wouldn’t trade the sleepsack for a regular blanket, and I highly recommend it to all parents of infants.
Wish we’d found these earlier
Our 5-month-old has been using the Halo cotton sleepsacks for about a month now. They’re soft and warm and have washed pretty well, although they did shrink a bit at first. It’s nice to know that our son can’t kick these off in the night- he usually wriggles out of regular blankets within 2 or 3 minutes.
Very cute but shrinks!
My son recently outgrew his medium sleep sacks. We had one cotton, one fleece, so I purchased two more in Size Large. While the fleece one is a great size, the cotton one shrank almost to the size of the medium! There’s really not much room to grow. Unfortunately this can’t be realized until the product is washed and therefore can’t be returned. In hindsight, I should have purchased an XL to let him grow into that and if it shrank then no big deal. Overall, love HALO Sleep Sacks… just hate that this one shrunk (although the medium cotton sleep sack didn’t…)! And I wash everything in cold water, low heat drying.
love these sleepsacks
We’ve been addicted to Halo SleepSacks since my daughter was a newborn. We’ve been through all of them – the swaddles when she was a newborn, micro fleece in the winter, and cotton in the spring/summer. Right now, she’s a petite 2 yo (approx. 10th percentile in weight and 40th in height), and she *just* outgrew the size large, which she was in since she was a little over a year old. Note that even though they say Large fits 22-28 LBS, my daughter outgrew it by length when she was only 23 LBS. The XL is perfect on her right now.We keep her room at 70 degrees and she wears a short sleeve onesie, fleece zip-up footed pajamas, and this cotton sleep sack to bed. She’s just the right temperature and sleeps soundly through the night!
Disappointed with condition
I love halo sleep sacks, our twin boys still wear them every night at 16 months. Unfortunately one of he sleep sacks we received has a small defect at the top of the zipper making it a huge pain to zip up every night while wrestling a squirmy baby. We needed them ASAP so we just kept it, but still annoying every night trying to zip it up. Normally these sleep sacks are wonderful, we just got a dud. I recommend Theseus anyone, just make sure your zipper works!
Love the halo sleep sacks. This fits my almost 6 monther. I like the cotton ones because my apt is always warm
Great for summer!
My son is 4-months old and the sleepsacks I had were all way too thick and warm for the summer. This cotton sleepsack is think, breathable and soft for him to wear in the summer to bed and for naps.
Not worth it if baby stands up already
My baby already stands up so this gets on his way when he awakes up in the crib. The item is nicely made, but I would only use it on younger babies.
Strongly recommend for all parents!
I bought one made from fleece first and love it. Now I buy a lighter material one for different weather. I have washed it several times and no problem at all. Zipper is still very smooth. I bought XL even my son was only 10 months old at the time ( about 18 lb ) but still fits okay. I no longer has to worry about him kicking off the blanket at the middle of the night.
So handy for a wiggler!
This is great if your kiddo moves while sleeping! On a cool night you toss this on, zip it up, and they’re good to go, no matter where they go! Mine is all over the place as she sleeps so keeping a blanket on would be a nightmare. It’s also nice- the cooler fabric ones- for a warm night with just a diaper so your kid doesn’t take their diaper off. I would highly recommend this to anyone! We started using one at about 3 months and still do! (She’s 1 year now)
Cotton Sleep Sack only OK – go with the fleece ones
I have both the Halo fleece sleep sack and this cotton one. The cotton one is very flimsy and doesn’t compare in quality to the fleece one – if you want a cotton sleep sack – why not just put the baby in a nightgown? The fleece one, however, is aweseom (even though I like the LullaBag slightly better than the Halo fleece sleep sack)
Size is weird
I got this for my son to get him off the swaddle. It didn’t work because it was too big in width. I guess I misjudged what this can be used for. I though I would be able to put his hands inside the sack so he can still move them around but not to bother his face. Didn’t work, he still got out and even if he didn’t his hands were still in his face.
Great for a new baby!!!!
This item is perfect for a new baby. Everyone is told not to put loose blankets in the bassinet/crib, but if you are like me, I worried that my baby would get cold. These are the answer!! They are a wearable blanket. I used to put this on my son at night with just a t-shirt underneath. It made night time diapers changes easier too. It is available in cotton for warmer times and fleece for colder times. Available in a range of colors and sizes too. Great product!!!
My son has been wearing SleepSacks since he was about 4mths and they are a great way to keep your child sleeping safely in their own room without having to worry if they are too cold.
We loved the first one so much, we came back for more! Can’t say morefor something for baby, than saying we love it enough to come back foranother!
I love this product. I have used it since he was 6 months. I wish the would do an early waker sleepsack in cotton.
great for bedtime
I dress the baby in this sleep sack every night. It has room for him to move his legs, and now in the winter, I dress him in a long-sleeved onsie underneath. (I use the fleece one now and will change to a cotton one in the warmer months.) I like the zipper too — very easy for diaper changes in the wee hours.
Sleepsacks are wonderful
My guy love’s his sleepsacks. I was excited to find that they make bigger sizes so my man can keep using these. The fabric is so soft on this one. I really like the subtle design and unique color.
Help Our Little One to Recognize Sleep Time
Our daughter started wearing this to bed (night and naps) when she was around 6.5 months. It is neither too thick or thin, and we love the fact that it is cotton. She might not necessarily need a swaddle anymore, but when we put it on it helps her recognize that it is time to fall asleep. Basically, it became a part of a routine she is comfortable with.
Halo is great!
We have been using Halo’s since our son was born. He is 15 months old and we plan on using them at least until he is 2.
Love Love Love
I have used the sleepsack’s on my daughter since she was 6 months old and got to big to be swaddled. I have love these. I keep 2 Cotton ones and 2 Fleece ones in her drawers. I love the cotton ones for summer and the Fleece ones are perfect for winter. I always worry about my baby girl getting cold and these are perfect. It will be a sad day when she grows out of them (she wears the xl now)
A must have for my daughter after we broke her of a swaddle. Gives me peace of mind that she is warm.
Love these sleepsacks!
I love these Halo Sleepsacks! They’re perfect for our seven month old daughter. It’s lightweight and a perfect replacement for a loose blanket. Our daughter is long for her age and this size (Medium) fits her well with lots of extra room to grow. The cupcake print is adorable too. The Sleepsacks are perfect too to keep little legs from getting caught in between the slats on the crib.
This is great for spring/summer. Not having the arms works for me because I do not want baby to get over heated. I just use a long sleeve PJ. I like that it zips up from top to bottom which helps with diaper changes.
way to big
returning this because it was gigantic.it’s also too thin so better for summer use. I bought it for the winter. I love these halo blankets, but these are just way too big.
