We keep the temperature in our house at 72 degrees, which for me feels very cold in the winter. Rather than putting a space heater in our 2-month old’s room, and risk overheating her, I put her in this sleepsack over her regular footed long-sleeve cotton pajamas. The pajamas alone were too cold, I would find her in the middle of the night with cold feet and hands. In the Halo sleepsack, she has the perfect warmth for her body, and her arms are free to move. She looks so cozy and adorable in it too! I only have one right now, but after witnessing the cozy warm sleep our baby gets in it, I will definitely be purchasing more. She is big for 2 months (13+ lbs) and the small fits her great, lots of room to grow still.
When you can no longer swaddle…
… these are the best. For the first 3 months of my child’s life she was swaddled at sleep time. Once she got strong enough to either kick or maneuver her way out of the swaddle I started using these Halo Sleepsacks. Due to keeping a pretty cool house, I was concerned that the sleepsack would not be warm enough for her, but they are fine. Sometimes, she even perspires in them. The Halo Sleepsack is a fantastic alternative to piling on a bunch of blankets, especially since blankets at young ages can be unsafe (accidental suffocation). The only down side (my opinion) is the fleece material. Not crazy about fleece because it pills and looses some of it’s original softness, but these are still worth it. As my daughter grows, I will continue to buy larger sizes until she can no longer fit into them.
Love this material!
I had a fleece sleepsack and found that my baby got too warm in it… so I found this material and find it to be more breathable and very soft! I would purchase this again over the fleece!! Love the sleepsacks!!
Baby sleeps in this every single night. The velboa is just the softest, nicest fabric. I really prefer it to the fleece. It doesn’t get as hot, and it’s just softer. Perfect for baby.
We loved it and used it a lot
We used this especially during the winter since it is warm and it has been great. No worries about our daughter being cold yet we did have her wear a long sleeve shirt underneath since there is no sleeves. The material is very nice….super soft
Keeps my baby warm no matter which way he turns
Keeps my baby warm no matter which way he turns. I absolutely love this product, and my baby does too.
One of my favorite baby products!
The HALO sleepsack is one of my alltime favorite baby products. I wish I had discovered this product sooner! It keeps my baby warm, and safe at the same time! The peace of mind is priceless. I don’t have to worry about her getting tangled in her blanket when she sleeps. And I know she is nice and warm, all night long! I do wish they made a version with long sleeves. I live in Maine and it can get cold! I put her in a long sleeve sleeper under the sleepsack, but I worry her arms don’t stay as warm. She doesn’t seem to mind, but the mommy in me wishes there was an option for sleeves! Also, I love that it zips from the bottom, makes middle-of-the-night diaper changes a cinch. The Velboa fabric is luxurious and oh-so-soft. Washes extremely well, very durable! Use this every night. This would be a great baby shower gift!
Warm and Snuggly!
This is an awesome sleep sack! No worries about loose blankets in the crib or baby being too cold. I put this on my five month old son over his footed pajamas and it works great to keep him warm and comfortable at night. It is very well made, and so soft. My son loves it!
Soft and cuddly sleepsack
We have had our son in Halo sleepsacks ever since we stopped swaddling him. They are great! We’ve had cotton, fleece, and this velboa one. The velboa is definitely the softest and possibly the thickest. It’s difficult to tell whether the fleece or the velboa is thicker/warmer. I wish the velboa sleepsacks were more widely available in the larger sizes. We’re going to keep my son in them as long as we can. He moves around too much in his sleep to use an actual blanket. Seriously, he’s rolling all over the place all night. The one thing I think these sleepsacks are missing is a snap tab that would cover the zipper. We’ve actually talked about sewing one on because our son has become very interested in unzipping his sleepsack to the point where it has kept him awake trying to unzip. Our nephew went through a similar stage when he was obsessed with the sleepsack zipper so I’m thinking it might be a common thing. I understand that you wouldn’t need the snap for really young babies, but it might be good for toddler sizes.Overall, we love these and will continue to put our son in them until he’ll no longer fit!
Love the Velboa Fabric
This fabric is perfect! Not too hot like the fleece and not flimsy and thin like the cotton. Just right.
I have 5 halo sleepslacks in cotton, velboa & fleece and love them all! Would recommend to anyone. Worth every penny.
I just recently purchased this for my 2 month old daughter. She had been waking up in the morning with cold hands and feet even in a cotton sleeper in the summer due to air conditioning. This is perfect for her. It keeps her warm without overheating her and is easy to put on and take off. I will be using these throughout the winter over her cotton and fleece sleepers. The material is very soft both inside and out and after a month of use, I have not noticed too much piling. The zipper go from top to bottom and took some getting used to, but now I understand why. Although it can be a frustrating task of getting the zipper started at top when baby is crying and moving around, it is nice not having to worry about the zipper pinching her in the neck or chin. I would recommend this to anyone!
This is really great
I love this wearable blanket. It’s very soft and warm, and not static as acrylic is. I wish they made them in bigger sizes, I can’t find anything like it anymore.
This is so soft! Much warmer than the cotton, breathes better than the fleece. My daughter loves to snuggle up with it. Will order more.
Perfect for my little one.
Perfect for my son. He tosses and turners a lot so this keeps him warm. It is a little large, but it covers his feet nicely. Looks nice after several washes.
Great Sleep Sac
This is really a great product. I had never heaqrd of Velboa but bought it based on the reviews on this site. It was definitely a good buy. It is soft, even after several washing. I havent found pilling either inside or out. In the summer I put the baby to sleep in it in just a long sleeve cotton onesie. Once it statrted getting colder, she sleeps in her footed pajamas. The sleep sack keeps her warm but not overheated.
I started with the Halo Swaddle sleep sack, which I loved, and I have bought it in sizes S-M-L also. They’re perfect because they keep babies warm and there’s no way for it to be kicked off nor can it ride up & cause suffocation. It unzips fromThe bottom which makes for easy diaper changes. I would definitely recommend this product (and have many times).
