A must have for hard water
We bought this detergent because we have hard water and use cloth diapers. It’s amazing the improvement we have seen in our laundry. I didn’t even realize that there were problems until we fixed them. A must have for cloth diapering and for hard water.
I don’t get it
What’s up with the love for this detergent? I have slightly hard water and this stuff is awful. I bought it thinking it would be good for my diapers. No. It left a build up that was a pain to get rid of and it didn’t work with our clothes either. Now I’m stuck with an extra bag and a half I won’t use and don’t really want to give to anyone else.
Better brands out there
I used two bags of this detergent, I liked the hard water option. This product left stains on my diapers. I have switched to another brand that works much better than rockin green.
Good for cloth diapers
This gets my diapers clean and I feel great knowing it has nothing scary added. It did take another rinse in my washing machine than when I was using Ecosprout though.
I really like the Rockn Green detergent. I use it for my daughters cloth diapers and have not had any problems. Plus i love how it smells (even if it doesn’t stick).
Thank goodness for Rockin’ Green! We have tried multiple soaps for our AIO cloth diapers. We have gone through the Bum Genius detergent, Annie’s Laundry Soda and now this and I think we found a winner. The first two soaps we used in our front loader seemed fine fresh out of the washer (I have to hang mine to dry, they are not dryer friendly) and the minute our child would pee the diaper would smell AWFUL. I was actually starting to think something was wrong with her it was so strong. I did some research, including contacting Cottonbabies and they suggested a couple things that just seemed like a lot of work and it "might" work. A friend of mine actually uses this and suggested I try it because of our hard water problems. What a difference a detergent makes! I wash our diapers and pale liner (and cloth wipes) with two scoops in our front loader on hot/cold with a prewash and second rinse. When the cycle is finished I run a rinse only cycle (on cold) and then a 2nd rinse function (it makes a rinse only cycle that last 31 minutes). Once these two runs are competed the smell of urine or poo and any stains are completely gone and I hang to dry. Awesome product.
This stuff is magical. Seriously. I started using it a couple of years ago for cloth diapering. Ah-mazing. Gets it all out. Seriously, everything. We had been using those all in none laundry soap sheets by purex and my husbands work clothes kept jetting these mysterious spots on them. I ran his stuff through a soak/wash with Rockin green and all of that crap came off. I also found that my bike helmet strap had been living in some sort of ball bearing grease on the shelf in the garage. I soaked in in Rockin green and hot hot water over night and then washed it. Good as new. Works very well for homemade wipes as well. Very light scent. I can’t smell the scent at all after they cone out of the dryer. Just good clean clothes.
great detergent for cloth diapers
We have been trying to figure out how to clear our son’s diaper rash for a while and finally switched to this stuff. Once we changed to having him wear a disposable nighttime diaper for bedtime and then resuming cloth during the day his rash cleared. The cloth diapers smell a lot fresher and more clean than when we used Country Save detergent.
Loving this detergent for our hard water
I love this scent, and I love this detergent. The raspberry scent is to die for. Close up the bag though – if you don’t the detergent will loose its smell.I finally found THE wash routine for hard Phoenix water:1 tablespoon of Funk Rock in the pre rinse.2 tablespoons of Rockin’ Green Hard Rock in the regular wash. Then an extra rinse.Strip with Funk Rock every 4-6 weeks for a deep clean. No build up issues. No ammonia issues. FINALLY!
This is great soap for cloth diapers. You have to be very careful to purchase soap that doesn’t leave behind residue to keep the diapers absorbent. This is one of the best soaps, and I love that I can get it delivered to my door.
The only detergent I use
This is the only detergent I use for my cloth diapers. I’m sure other detergents work well but if it’s not broken, don’t fix it! We’ve been cloth diapering for 4 months and this detergent has kept the stink away, even with our hard water. I wouldn’t change it.
posting for my husband who does our cloth diaper laundry…well, all our laundry
He tried this after Charlie’s Soap and, compared to CS, thinks cleans the diapers better with the same amount of wash. To put the price in perspective, we cloth diaper most of the time. We use a disposable at night, and, honestly, when we have a big box of disposables from Costco, it is easier to grab a disposable and place it on the squirmy toddler and just toss when it’s soiled…. But we’re trying to be a little more environmentally friendly, etc, and cloth diapering, even part time is still very cost effective.Anyway, the pouch of Rockin’ Green lasted 3 months, doing cloth diaper laundry every 1-2 days. So, good value to me, and smells good.We have San Antonio hard water, and this works nicely. I haven’t tried any other scent.
CLOTH Diaper PERFECT
This detergent is amazing. I use this in my front loader with all my cloth diapers and it works amazingly. It leaves behind no smells. I throw in poopy diapers and it cleans it up very very well. I think it leaves all the diapers very clean and fresh and I will continue to spend the extra few bucks on this cause I think it is worth it.
Rockin Green Rocks
I love Rockin Green for cleaning cloth diapers. Honestly other detergents that get high ratings for using on CD don’t compare. I have a front loader and every now and then I take the diapers to my mom’s to give them the deep clean in her top loader. It works great, four stars because it is pricey. Obviously I think it is worth it since I have been using this on the CD since my son was born. I usually add a tablespoon to the first cycle which I wash on cold. Second cycle is two tablespoons on hot water. I might run a third cycle on cold or warm if I feel like the diapers were extra stinky/dirty. I usually wash every other day to try to save energy.
Smells great and works in very hard water
I really like the smell, and I don’t usually like watermelon scents. No stink issues in six months of use with very hard water.
Love this stuff, but wish it were cheaper
My only complaint about this would be the price. It is great- one of the only ones that never gave my baby a rash- he has sensitive skin. It also kept my diapers the least stinky of all the detergents I tried. Really happy with this detergent.
great for hard water
have tried others and like this the best for my hard water. Cloth diapering my second child scents are nice they dont stay on cloths rinse out clean
Love it for diapers
We have really hard water and it’s been hard getting the gunk out of the diapers. I bought this and use like I normally would and my diapers smell clean again. Very happy with this purchase. I’m installing a water softening system, but I can still use this, just much less of it. Which is kind of crazy considering I don’t really use more than 2 tablespoons anyway.
This detergent was competitively priced compared to the natural foods store where I would have normally purchased this. I was having some stink issues with my toddler’s cloth diapers and this took care of it! Love!
Love this product, is the only soap I use on my cloth!!!!
I’m sold! I used to use Charlie’s Soap Powder, which i really liked. On a whim, I decided to try this Rockin’ Green Soap. And I have to say, I’m sold! Rockin’ Green Soap wins, hands down. The smelliest things I wash are diapers and Charlie’s never really got the pee smell out. Rockin’ Green gets rid of ALL smells! The diapers come out entirely odor free now. I also love the scent of this detergent. It smells going in but clothes come out without any smells. I think that’s proof on how clean rinsing this stuff is. I love that there’s a hard water mix as we do have very hard water.
I keep going back to Rockin Green…
First off, Rockin Green isn’t the cheapest laundry detergent out there. In fact, it’s one of the most expensive! I’ve had great success using it on my sons’ cloth diapers. I’ve tried a bunch of other laundry detergents, in the hopes of finding one that was cheaper and/or didn’t need to be shipped, and none have worked as well. This stuff is GREAT. If it can get cloth diapers clean, rest assured it can get any other laundry clean. It smells good, but doesn’t leave any residual scent on the clean laundry. If only I could get a price break by buying in bulk….Oh, and even though the instructions say to use 1-2 Tbsp for each load, I ran into issues (funky smelling diapers) using that amount. I have a HE (front loader) washer and I use 3 Tbs. per load. For diapers, I run the "heavy soil" cycle. For regular laundry, I use the "normal" cycle with an extra rinse at the end.
We use this to clean all our cloth diapering items. The detergent works well especially when the diapers are soaked, and the smell is very subtle.
Solved our Stink!
This solved our stink issue! We have used Charlies Soap for years, but when we moved to a new area with MUCH harder water than our old home, Charlies could not keep up with the diapers (though we still use it for our regular clothing). We were getting that "barnyard smell" on our dipes even with stripping them. Instead of getting the hard water additive for Charlies, we got this (as it is cheaper per load when I did the math than using Charlies + the Additive). I like the smell when I put it in the wash, though it leaves no scent on the finished diapers (which is a GOOD thing). I want to try the rosemary scent next time! Over all, very happy. It is pricier than I would like, but it does do the job and solved our issues.
Nice clean rash
The detergent was good at cleaning and keeping diapers stink-free, but a few days after we started using it, my daughter broke out in a nasty rash that would not go away. I had to put her in a disposable and wash all of the diapers and covers multiple times in regular detergent to clear up the rash.
Preferred over Charlie’s soap
I like this soap better than Charlie’s soap for washing cloth diapers. I also occasionally use the funk ammonia removal soap once in awhile.
