Joovy Tricycoo Tricycle, Greenie

Joovy Tricycoo Tricycle, Greenie

The Joovy Tricycoo is a tricycle for children as young as 18 months. The Tricycoo is the perfect way to introduce your child to balance and coordination, one step at a time. Your child will love the adventure of piloting their very first vehicle and parents love that they are in control while their child masters each stage of learning. The concept of the Tricycoo is simple your child does not need to steer, pedal or balance on their own. They simply enjoy the fun and independence of their first tricycle while you guide them with the parent push handle (removable). When engaged, the parent push handle overrides the steering on the Tricycoo. It has 4 positions and is adjustable from 32.5″ to 38″ high. While your child is getting used to the idea of balancing and holding on to the handlebars, the front wheel pedals can be unlocked; this allows the pedals to spin freely without force and “go” without the need to pedal. The removable ‘baby surround arms’ safely enclose your child on the seat and the fold down footrest gives more stability to the child when riding. This gives them confidence and support while they perfect their balancing. The Joovy Tricycoo is first class all the way unlike most tricycles with blow molded wheels, the Tricycoo sports injection molded wheels with urethane treads. Parents love these wheels because they roll quietly on most floors. For additional fun, the Tricycoo is equipped with a bell on the handlebar and a large rear basket for take along play. The Tricycoo frame is constructed of steel and it supports a child up to 44 pounds. When your child masters the first phase on the Tricycoo, you’ll be ready to remove the parent push handle, ‘baby surround arms’ and fold up the footrest. The front wheel pedals can be locked to allow the child to pedal using their own power. Now you can smile and watch as your child pilots their Tricycoo all by themselves. Assembly is required.

Tricyoo Terrific!

If you are looking for a toy with longevity, this is a great bike. The parent handle turns the front wheel which is uncommon for these kind of bikes and the guard rails are removable so your toddler can grow and learn for a long time with this toy. However, the best thing is my toddler and all her friends love to ride this bike. They all look so happy, proud and have much fun on the bike. The Tricycoo is so awesome some of the other parents have also purchased this same bike. The only thing that is a bit of a downside is you can only store a few light items in back basket. Otherwise this is a great bike. Enjoy your Tricycoo.P.S. Did I mention the bike also comes with a bell? When a toddler learns to ring it, it is the cutest thing in the world!

Works well, but could have a few improvements…

I looked long and hard at tricycle reviews on amazon before I bought this one. For the most part, I’m pleased with it. And my son loves it. A few things I wish were a little different/better.1–I wish it had a brake. Like a stroller does. When we’re out and I’m walking the dogs, I have to somehow prop my foot against the tire so go pick up after the dogs. Just wish there was a brake I could set.2–The steering is not ideal. While the parent can steer from the handle, which was on my must-have list, the kid can steer too! It gets very tricky to override my toddler, especially if he takes one hand off to look behind him, etc. We’re all over the place. This requires 2 hands on the parent bar at all times. In important times, like crossing a street, I often just pop a wheelie so he can’t steer at all. It works, but not ideal.3–The foot rests are sort of behind where he really needs to put his feet. My son is still a bit too short-legged at 21 months to reach the pedals. This was one of my must-haves which really limited my choices. I wanted foot rests. These work, but the are sort of awkward for him to get to. He’s gotten used to it, and the feet are there 95% of the time. It is just a bit behind where his legs naturally want to fall.4–small thing: but a cup holder would be fantastic!Overall, a good product. We use it every day we’re home, mostly to walk the dogs, go get coffee, or walk to the playground. Is it the absolute best on the market?? Probably not. But I still think it’s a good value for the price, and we’re certainly getting our money out of it.

Stroller now, trike later

I saw so many toddlers happily riding in these beginner trikes, that I bought one for our grandson when he was 18 months old. Now, almost 2, he has finally allowed us to put him into it for a ride. His best pal has one, so he must have decided it’s okay. He doesn’t use the pedals yet, but he loves to ride in it and try to steer. That makes pushing it harder for me, but I can still control where we’re going. The bell holds much fascination for him; I can tell because he rings it constantly. I’m glad we have it; we have a lot of fun going for our trips around the neighborhood. At some point we can take out the protective frame, then remove the handle, and it will be fine for his first “real” trike.

Sturdy, solid, but on the smaller side

We’ve had the Joovy Tricycoo for a little over one year. My son started riding on it when he was about 18mo and he’s 2.5yo now. We initially got it because he was starting to get antsy riding in his stroller on neighborhood walks with our dog and the novelty of riding in something different was perfect. It really is a great first tricycle – the ability to lock out the pedals, the nice length of the push bar, and the guard rails around the seat are all really handy. That said, I’m knocking this down to a 3 star item because the sizing is really on the small end. He’s a larger toddler and I’m betting he’s going to outgrow this before next summer.PROS:
• Sturdy, solid design
• Can lock out pedals
• Wheels are big enough that it’s comfortable to ride and push on the brick sidewalks in my neighborhood.
• Hard to tip
• Nice bucket in back for throwing a small snack, bottle of water, etc into
• Great for smaller kidsCONS:
• The initial foot rests are just in a ridiculous, unusable position. We’ve never used them because it was so awkward to get his feet on this. It’s a huge design flaw.
• Smaller sized, watch out if you have a larger kid.
• Very easy for the child to wrestle the steering away from you as they get older – dangerous when you’re crossing the road.I don’t regret purchasing this, I just wish we were going to get a longer period of use out of it. As is, I’m pretty confident we’ll need to buy my son a new tricycle next summer.

One of my Favorite Kids Products this Year!

I’m a blogger, and I get to check out a ton of the coolest new kids toys and gear. But I can honestly say that the Tricycoo from Joovy is one of my VERY favorite kids products that I’ve seen this year – seriously. Here are a few of my favorite things:-Keeping up with toys for kids can get expensive. The Tricycoo adjusts to grow up WITH your child, and is so well-built that it can actually last though those Toddler to Big-Kid stages!-It has super fun features – the bell has a retro sound, and reminds me of my own bike as a little girl. The basket in the back is perfect for taking stuffed animals along on a ride, or for carrying moms diaper bag for a trip to the park.-The Tricycoo is so cool! We get a ton of compliments when I take this to the park for play dates. We have the basic black, and I love it. But all of the colors are so cheerful and fun too.I really don’t have anything negative to say… It was easy to put together, is well made, looks cool, and is super fun – what more can you ask for, right?

we get lots of complements

I like it. She likes it. It looks neat and all, but it is hard to keep it straight while walking. I dont know why is this happening, but this defect makes the ride miserable, simply because I cannot hold it so tight to keep it straight. although, its easy to make turns and u-turns!

Very nice bike

Great product!! So happy with the quality and features of this bike. It was exactly what I was looking for at a fraction of the price of other push tricycles I was looking at

LOVE this bike!

Bought this for my 1 year old to use while her big sister is riding bikes too. She loves it. I can push her around in it, and she’s learning how to use her legs to peddle it too. It wasn’t bad to put together either. It’s super cute.

What a piece of Junk

Ordered this for my daughter to play with at her grandparents house. It is 99% plastic and the components that cover the screw holes, etc. all have fallen off. IT’s not very stable either. Ended up ordering an old school radio flyer tricycle for our house and we love it.

Perfect for 2 year old

We bought this as a birthday present for our 2-year old daughter. We did not put the wrap-around bar on it as she does not need it. A feature I like is the ability to lock the wheels in place since she is not quite capable of managing to get her feet to stay on pedals for multiple rotations. Very nice quality and easy assembly. She loves the bell!

Son loves tricycle

Great product, though assembly not super straightforward (per my husband, who found himself with at least one "spare" screw at the end – pray for our son’s safety!). Also would be nice if came with detachable foot straps for pedals. But otherwise, it’s terrific, and our 20-month-old son loves it.

not as sturdy…

this tricycle isn’t as sturdy as I’d like for my 20 month old daughter, who is very long. I thought the arms on the sides would be able to open and close for easier entry, so she could climb on the trike herself, but I don’t think they’re meant for that. The footrest also isn’t in the best position for her either, but again her length is off the charts for her age. Which means that I’m not sure we’ll get as much use out of it as we’d like for $80 because the handlebars will probably soon be an issue too. I do love the parental steering control and pedal lock option until she get the hang of pedaling and steering herself.

A great bike that will grow with your child!

I love that this tricycle can grow with my child. The removable baby surround arms and the moveable footrest make this good from 18months all the way through 44lbs. Right now with the removable parent push handle my little boy can concentrate on learning how to pedal while I guide the tricycle. Once my son is confident enough, I am able to take off the parent push handle and let my little guy do all the work!I love the removable parent push handle because it is not only removable, it is also adjustable. It has 4-positions and is adjustable from 32.5 to 38 inches high. I like this because I like to steer the Tricycoo {I am rather tall} and so does my oldest son {He is 4 years-old – so he is MUCH shorter than me}. By adjusting the height, both of us can easily reach and maneuver the parent push tray. The bell on the bike was such a hit with my boys that I had to go online and order a second bell so that my oldest son could have one on his bike. Seriously. The rear basket is perfect for my son, as he tends to hoard toys. He likes to take things with him when he plays and this allows a safe place for his toys to go while he rides around. He now tucks his toys in the basket instead of trying to hang on to them while steering and pedaling his bike. This tricycle was really easy to set up and put together {Assembly was required}. Since it a transitional tricycle that can change and grow with your child there are pieces that you can either add or remove depending on which stage your child is ready for. Taking on and off these pieces {baby surround arms & parent push handle} was really easy. It took me a minute to figure out how to foot rest, but once I figured it out {pull down and then back} it was also really easy to operate.I was given a sample of the Joovy Tricycoo for the purposes of a blog review {Mom Mart}, regardless all opinions are my own and may differ from others.

Review after 1 month

Easy to steer and seems durable. 2-year old loves it. He’s happy to have his feet on the peddles, and when his legs get tired he puts his feet on the stands. He understands that he has a choice, because he’s the one to put up/down the stands. He likes putting his bottle or other toy in the back basket. It’s not very big though, so don’t think you can put your own bag in it. Just for his things.

Just what we were looking for!!!!

We recently purchased this bike for our daughters 1st Bday. I know it’s rated for 18mos and above, but the belly bar makes it perfect for her age (as she is crawling and already learning to walk). Plus, she turns 1yr in Oct- so it will be for indoor use only till the summer rolls around– by then she’ll be around 18mos. We just put it together the other day to make sure all the parts were there and it worked well- it’s so quiet to roll around and manuvers great and looks adorable! Very sturdy too. There are plastic parts, but the frame is metal. I know she will LOVE it! I’ll update my review if anything changes after she get’s to use it for the first time. For now, only her doll has taken a ride in it 😉 But it’s exactly what we were looking for and love the color. It’s a bit deeper pink in person than pictured on Amazon, but not too bright.

Bernadine Oktaha, OK

It’s good.

Very cute color combination. No shade. The tires pick up every bumps on the surface. The long handle doesn’t control the direction very well. The foot rest and peddle design is good.

Ridiculously cute & even more FUN!

We got this for my 2 year old son & he LOVES it!! It was not hard to put together & is extremely durable. The removable handle is the perfect height – I’m 5’8 and my husband is 6’2 & it’s comfortable for both of us. It’s small enough to throw in the backseat & take to the park but big enough to be comfortable for your kiddos.
