Very useful in many settings
I own the regular peapod (not lite or plus). while at the park, we were pretty far from a public restroom. I was able to drape a light blanket over the mesh openings and change the baby in privacy. She also napped right beside us as we relaxed on the grass. I know if we were at the beach or other public place, this could easily be a safe, private place to lay her down where she could stretch out. After the recall, I won’t be using it as an overnight place to sleep, but for day naps in public, or visits to friends’ houses (under supervision), it’s indispensable as a safe, sanitary haven. I wish I could upgrade to the Plus now that she’s grown into a toddler, but they seem to be completely off the market.
So much better than a Pack-n-Play
We traveled the country with the heavy Pack n Play for years and paid extra for the weight of it in our suitcases. I wish I had known about this sooner! It’s barely a couple pounds, has a strap for easy carrying, and the zipper is the easiest way to keep a climber in a portable bed. The baby often wakes up sweaty in here so we leave the fan on for a little extra breeze. I recommend it to all my friends.
I know that a version of this item was recalled (the one with mattress included) – but this one is fantastic! We’ve used it when we travel (in hotels, at friends’ places, by the pool) and we’ve received lots of compliments. My 6 month old son likes to hang out in it too and roll around.
not for bigger babies
Got it for travell, and it didnt fit well our 13 month old, he hated it…. MAybe for really tiny babies it will be fine.
Really awesome product. sad to see it has been discontinued. Our broke really quick. Not the discredit of the product, but more mishandling during folding it back up. Unfortunately it is no long available anywhere. Sad to to see some idiots who didnt know how to use the product sued the co. and ruined it for the rest of us.
