Kid’Sleep Classic, Blue

Kid’Sleep Classic, Blue

The Kidand#8217;Sleep has many benefits, as a night light, wake up indicator for young children and an alarm clock for older children. It helps young children have an understanding of when it is time to get out of bed and when it is not. It is a great tool for nighttime self regulation, and the result is that both parents and children get more sleep. The Kidand#8217;Sleep Classic helps kids stay in bed until it is time to get up. If the sleeping bunnyand#8217;s picture is lit, kids know to stay in bed. When the awake bunny is illuminated, it is okay to get out of bed and start the day. The Kidand#8217;Sleep Classic has dual nighttime/naptime settings and an optional alarm (which is a very sweet bird chirping sound followed by a rooster crowing), in addition to three levels of brightness. The Kidand#8217;Sleep Classic comes in blue (bunny) or pink (cow). The Kidand#8217;Sleep products do not require kids to have color recognition. They naturally relate to the sleeping or awake animal.

No bedtime setting

This is frustrating to me. I’m surprised everyone is raving about this. It’s very hard to set the time. Then I notice that you set wake up time, then nap time, but where is the bedtime setting? Every day you need to turn the device on and off to reset for night time. You can’t just set this and forget it, it needs to become part of a nightly ritual which I don’t want.I’m going to keep searching for another clock.

Pricey but works

Our 20 month old began climbing out of his crib so, sadly, we had to convert to the toddler “day bed” version. It did NOT go well. We bought this to help him figure out when he could get up and, to be honest, it’s not everything I’d love to see in a $40 product but it has helped a lot.Pros:
• Self-explanatory images rather than distinguishing between different colored lights. One clock we looked at would require our twenty month old to know the difference between red and green. While he does get it right (most of the time), I seriously doubt he’s going to pay attention to that in the middle of the night or bother remembering which light means what! This light just shows a bunny sleeping or awake…easy!
• Nap function. I didn’t see this on the description but this item does have two switching times so you can have one preset for a nap and one for night. I was REALLY glad to see this because I didn’t want to constantly have to program the thing!
• A lot of reviewers complained about the complexity of setup and, though the instructions are a bit annoying, it’s not that tough. I’m not that great with electronics and typically leave it to my husband to deal with but I had this thing up and running properly in about five minutes. Just pay attention to the little symbols – it’s not hard.
• Takes the place of a night light without being overly bright.
• This is a con for some but, generally speaking, I prefer having a plug-in as opposed to yet another battery-eating device. Yes, it stinks if there’s a power outage but, come on, how often does that happen? I’d rather be inconvenienced once every few months or more than have to buy more batteries all the time. I will concede that it would be nice to have a battery back-up option, though.
• LED lights – probably going to last a while!Cons:
• It is cheap feeling. And yes, the little faceplate will come out if your kid plays with it. But, as noted on the instructions, this is NOT intended as a toy. Keep it out of your kids reach and it’ll be fine.
• The digital screen IS tiny so don’t even bother trying to do this in the dark. Even with my contacts in I have to really look to see those little symbols!
• When the bunny wakes up, you must turn the lamp off and on again to get the bunny to “sleep.” Not a big deal to me but I can see why this would annoy some. We just let the bunny stay awake until nap/bed time and then switch it while making a big deal about “Oh, look! The rabbit is sleeping!”
• There is no way to quickly and easily make the bunny wake up earlier than the pre-set time. Our naptimes/bedtimes are pretty regimented so this mostly doesn’t matter to us. Sometimes though, if our son goes down really early, it would be nice to have a way to quickly be able to make the bunny wake up a bit earlier. Again though, not really an issue for us.For the record, I really think we would have had an even easier time with this if we had used this lamp for awhile before the bed transition. The extra faceplate it comes with is just the one of the sleeping bunny and this would have helped our son make the association sooner (as well as made a cute night light). Regardless, it’s been a big help and we have not regretted our purchase!

Not worth it.

I had high hopes for this, but was sorely disappointed. Setting up the clock/alarm was confusing and time consuming. The lights changing from day to night were barely discernible. When it was on night, the day was still lit slightly and vice versa. Also, the plastic screen/cover that has the daytime/nighttime bunnies was flimsy and didn’t stay on well at all. For an alarm clock marketed towards toddlers this should have been much more durable.Since pieces were broken within the first day we just trashed it after trying for a week to get it to work correctly. I would recommend looking into another alarm clock as we are. This one was pretty useless.

Perfect, Not Too Bright.

I was hesitant to buy this because many of the product reviews said that the sleeping bunny was too bright for a dark room at bed time. I bought it anyway thinking that we could use tape to black out some of the light. No fixes necessary. There are 3 brightness settings. The lowest setting is perfect for bed time and the highest setting is perfect for nap time (when there is more light in my daughter’s room).I read other product reviews that complained that there was only one setting and it was too complicated to switch the wake up time for nap time and bed time every day. In fact, there are 2 wake-up settings, so there is no need to adjust the settings for nap time and bed time. Before the bunny clock, our daughter (26 months)would wake up about 4 times a week in the middle of the night, come to our room, and ask for milk (her morning routine). After trying to convince her that it was still night time (which usually involved some crying), I would have to bring her back to her room. Since we bought the bunny clock 2 weeks ago, she hasn’t gotten up in the middle of the night even once. She is very excited to run over to our room in the morning to let us know that "Bunny is awake!"

Totally Useless

First of all this thing is waaaay too small and the light bulb that is inside is not that bright so it barely illuminates the sheep. The set up is terrible and confusing and having to reset the sheep back to sleep every day is such a pain. Don’t they know that when you buy this product it means that you have children and that you have enough to rememeber on a daily basis than to reset the sleeping sheep? Totally annoying. Don’t waste your money.

Just what we needed

The set up was slightly confusing (you only set the times that you want it to turn to “awake”, which I didn’t think was very clear in the intstructions), but once set we have found this to be incredibly effective! We had originally gotten the stuffed owl sleep “clock”, but because it was only battery powered (which limited the amount of time it could stay lit), we found that our child never woke up within the 30 minute “window” of the owl being lit and it took quite a bit of teaching for her to be able to hit the “sweet spot” of the owl for it to tell her whether it was time to sleep or wake up. The “cow clock” as we call it takes the guess work out and leaves it so my child doesn’t have to interact with it at all. Just slide the bar off and on to set it to sleep mode and it will do the rest. The concept of “just do what the cow is doing” (sleeping or waking up) was easy for my 2 year old to understand and we are very pleased with the outcome!

Life changing

This "bunny clock" pulled my husband and I out of a 2 year rut of not being able to sleep through the night. I wasn’t sure if my 2 year old would get the concept, but he did! After only 2 nights, he knew he should stay in bed as long as his bunny was still asleep. Now he proudly comes into our room to let us know that his bunny is awake each morning! Best purchase ever.

Seems to be the best toddler clock available… However, overpriced

Unfortunately most of the toddler clocks don’t have good reviews… this one seemed to be the least offender so we got it. I wanted something that wasn’t going to wake her up and this works well. This clock is definitely overpriced and cheaply made… I guess they know parents of toddlers are desperate for sleep! Seriously though, the face plate is not on securely, definitely has to be placed away from kids reach. And the small digital clock is way to small, I was hoping it would be larger so we could also use this to teach her time. The main problem I see is that it needs to be plugged in with no batter back up, we have it hanging on a wall so there is a lovely white cord hanging down to the plug. I doubt most people have a plug in a convenient location for a clock which is why most clocks run on battery! Also it would be nice if you could set the time for the bunny to go into sleep mode without having to turn on the alarm again. It took me a little bit to figure this out but basically its like any alarm clock, you set the wake up time(s) and then need to turn on the alarm function. Overall the clock works as advertised, is relatively easy to figure out, and if it gets your toddler to sleep then I guess $30 is a bargain!Update: we are not using the clock’s alarm function to help my toddler get up in the morning on days I have to work. Other alarm clocks were too loud and this one has a soothing alarm of birds chirping and a rooster. Also the alarm goes off once, you don’t have to turn it off or hit snooze.

Perfect for our toddler!!

This bunny alarm clock for kids is amazing!! Our 2-year-old son loves waking up in the morning and seeing the bunny wake up too. He always says, “Mommy, the bunny is awake and that means I can get up!” He understood right away after we explained to him that he could not get out of bed in the morning unless the bunny was awake. It was a success the 1st night!! Such a great purchase – I would recommend this to anyone with an early riser like my little boy! We’ve had it for about 2 months now and I can honestly say it still works great and my son loves his bunny clock! We use it for naps and morning wake-up. Worth every penny. Very easy set-up.

Cute but a bit tricky

I like this clock. It’s a bit hard to figure out how to get it set up, and sometimes it looks as though both bunnies are lit up a little bit, but on the whole it’s very cute.

Really great!

We’ve had this now for 2 weeks, it’s been a great addition to my son’s room! He recently learned how to open doors and thought it was a blast to come wake me at 5:30 am when he was ready to play. Of course it took some time to adjust, but now he waits until Bunny is awake before running over happily saying "Bunny is awake! YAY, time to play!"I like the 3 settings of the light. Our son is anti-night light, so the lowest setting is perfect for us.

Freida Haywood, WV

Great, except for when it accidentally gets set to “alarm”

My son seemed to understand the concept of this light at 2.5 years, but unfortunately it didn’t usually keep him in his bed.It is pretty fiddly to set up the sleep and wake times – I feel old squinting to see the teeny-tiny digital output! The biggest problem is when it accidentally gets set to alarm mode. The alarm is the most bizarre collection of farm animal sounds and I can’t imagine anybody wanting to wake up to it!

Sasha Lloyd, MT

Good clock for toddlers.

My twins love this clock! They understand to stay in bed when bunny’s asleep and they can get up once he’s awake. I like that there are different time settings for morning and nap so I don’t have to reset the wake up time. However, it would be nice to have different alarm settings for each. We use the rooster at nap time so they don’t sleep too late into the afternoon, but I only use the picture alarm in the morning incase they need to sleep in a bit. There have been a few times I forgot to switch the audio alarm off for the morning. But it was very easy and quick to set up.

Great clock but arrived broken

I love the idea of this clock, so I ordered it for my 16 month old son who likes to wake up very early. When it arrived, the illustration “faces” of the clock were cracked. I sent the item back to amazon and they gave me a refund. Will try ordering another time.

No complaints

I bought this because my two year old had decided to stop napping. I still put her in her crib each day for ‘quiet time’ but thought this would be great so that she could start to understand that when the bunny wakes up then mom would come get her. Well, I ended up putting her down later for naps and this solved the no napping problem. I still like the bunny clock and my daughter likes to talk about the clock but she hasn’t fully grasped the concept because we haven’t needed to really use it for it’s purpose. I’m glad I bought it as you can use it as a true alarm clock, also.

I would marry this clock if I could!

Our 2 and a half year old son was just waking up way too early for us. I am not a morning person and was willing to do anything to get to sleep in past 6am. So we tried this clock even though I think the recommended age is 3 and up. Every morning we set it 5 minutes ahead, morning 1 6:05am, morning 2 6:10am and so forth until we made it to 7am. He is now almost 4 years old and will not call for us or get out of bed until this bunny wakes up at 7am. Even though I hear him stirring in his bed prior to 7, he won’t call for us until 7am at which point we hear a loud yell of "Mom, dad, my bunny is awake!" I don’t know if it would work for every kid but it is absolutely worth a try. I have an 18 month old who wakes up at 5:30am right now and can’t wait till he is old enough for me to get him his own bunny clock. Worth every penny!!!!

We bought this for our 3 yr old because she gets up when the sun does. She understands the concept of staying in her bed until the cow wakes up, but she chooses not to. However, she does LOVE this clock and she usually plays until the cow is awake, then runs in to wake me up. She likes knowing when "time to sleep" and "time to wake" is, because it’s confusing to her not knowing actual time yet.

It took a little while to get it right, but now we love it

We tried this thing for a week or so and had no luck getting our three year old to pay attention to the dancing cow. Put it away for a while and then just this week got it back out because I was desperate to get her to stay in her room and stop calling for me in the middle of the night. I did a test run and sat in her room with her and we waited for the cow to get out of bed and dance. Once she saw the light transition to the awake dancing cow she understood better what she would be waiting for in the morning. We have been setting it for later each night to try to get to our goal wake up time of 7:30am. Each night before bed I remind her that she can’t get up until the cow gets up. It seems to be doing the trick, and we couldn’t be happier. The clock itself seems a little cheap. The plastic disk with the cow pictures on it seems to slip out of place easily. The clock is hard to set. It seems that if I pause more than a second or two then it makes me start over, which is frustrating. After looking at the other options on the market I do not think that there are better options out there, quality wise.

My 27-month-old is getting it!

I got this for my daughter just after she turned 2. The manufacturers say that it is a nightlight for kids under (I believe) 28 months. But I have been using it as a sleep trainer every night since her second birthday in hopes that she would catch onto it. And she is finally getting it! She is learning that when the cow is asleep, she should be asleep. When the cow is awake, she can wake up. Hallelujah!I personally find the clock fairly easy to set (although the AM/PM/24HR symbols are sort of small). And yes, you do have to turn it off and on each day to use it again the next night – but you don’t have to reset anything. The button is a little quirky (I just sometimes have to give it a little extra push to get it off), but otherwise it’s fine.My one complaint is, yes, I wish it had batteries. I thought long and hard about getting this one vs. the one that had batteries. My daughter does pull the clock away from the wall and unplugs it sometimes. That means I have to reset it if I want it to work that night. That’s a little frustrating sometimes, but it only takes a minute to do.This clock fit my needs. I bought another sleep-trainer clock for my older daughter (the American Innovative Teach Me Time Talking Alarm Clock and Nightlight – I bought it on Amazon as well) a year or so ago. It has been great for her, but she was older. She was starting to tell time. So that clock worked great for her. But for a 2-year-old who needs to learn when it’s night time, this clock is great. I’m glad we have it!

I got my sleep back!!!

We bought this for my daughter when we made the transition to her "big girl bed". I have to say, it has saved my sanity (and my sleep!). She now knows that she can not get out of bed until the cow wakes up. This has been especially wonderful with the time change- we just set the morning time 15 min later each day for the week before the change. No getting up at 6am for mommy! I think it’s totally overpriced, but worth it- my daugher loves it!

The Best

This has saved us! My 2 year old loves it! She really understands the concept. She patiently waits in her room until "Cow Dancing!!!" and then she runs to wake us up. She absolutely loves the dancing cow and is so excited to tell us every morning that she’s dancing. It’s great that she wakes up happy. If she wakes up in the middle of the night and asks to read a book or something we can say, when the cow wakes up and dances, then we can read a book – it makes total sense to her. If the cow is sleeping, she needs to sleep. It was a little bit tricky to set up, but not enough for me to give it a 4 star rating. This has given me many hours of extra sleep, helps to teach my child the difference between night and day, and also teaches her patience as she waits for the "Dancing Cow".Best purchase ever. HIGHLY recommend.

My child loves it!

My child loves looking at the bunny. When we first brought it home he followed the alarm exactly. Eureka!! However, now he has started playing with it and every night I have to go in and reset the alarm and light intensity. I suggest placing the clock somewhere your child can’t reach it or you might be awoken by a rooster unknowingly! (instead of lights switching there is a mode for birds chirping with a rooster crowing… that will get you up in the morning! )

Minnie Niobrara, NE

Nice, but program instructions not super clear

I do love this clock because it is not too bright and works well. My only complaint is that the programming feature is a bit low tech and hard to follow. They should switch it out with a digital pad so that you are able to just enter times in and not have to use the arrows.

Zelma Orient, OH

Doesn’t stay awake

My daughter wakes up several times a night. I hoped this would help her understand night vs day. The problem is once the alarm goes off to wake up it immediately switches back to sleep mode. So if my daughter sleeps past the alarm, when she does awake it tells her to go back to bed.

Great Clock

This clock works great for my son. It definitely took some getting used to and it’s definitely not magic. He still gets out of his bed in the middle of the night most nights at least once and sometimes he does wake up too early, but for the most part when morning comes and the bunny is still sleeping it does work to get him to stay in his bed just a little bit longer. Some days he wakes up close to when the bunny is supposed to wake up, sees that it’s sleeping, and falls back asleep himself sleeping an hour or sometimes longer than usual. It has made a very very big dent in the amount of arguments and tantrums and does give him a clear picture of when wake up and sleep time are. I would definitely recommend this to anyone struggling to keep their child in bed or just looking for a little consistency for yourself. The one bad thing about this clock is there is not a battery backup so when it’s unplugged everything is cleared. That is to be expected for a clock I guess, but because it specially made for little kids, looks like a fun toy, and has adorable bunnies on it, it’s attractive to a child and unplugging daily is going to happen.

Nadine Blairstown, IA

Great for 3yo

My child loves her bunny lamp and it helps her stay in her bed a little bit longer, especially after her nap each afternoon. I wish it were easier to set. I figured it out, but it’s not grandma- or babysitter-friendly. I also would like the clock face to be larger and illuminated.

Roxanne Plainview, AR

Love the use, hate the settings

This clock was a nightmare to set-up. I read the instructions a hundred times over and just could not figure out how to set the clock/alarm correctly. Finally, I googled it and figured it out, but it took a long time. I dread the day when I have to change the alarm settings, but hopefully it won’t be as difficult the second time around. It works for my son really well, who is 2.5. He understands that even if he gets up before the bunny does, that he can’t come wake mommy until the bunny is awake. My son is an extremely early riser and in the summer, with the sun rising before a reasonable hour, this helps him understand when it is still time to sleep or time to get up and rock-n-roll. I will also mention, I had this clock since he was about 22 months old, and it didn’t really work for him until he was older (28 months). I’m sure every child is different, but it might be more challenging of a concept for the younger kiddos.

Callie Saint Onge, SD

Not a fabulous quality product

I ordered this for my son’s room in a last ditch effort to keep him in bed until 6 or 7 in the morning. This clock is cute, but the quality isn’t all that great. The disc with the pictures on it keeps falling out, even if it’s “locked” into place. Also, it took my husband and I three or four times to get the clock part set. We’re both college grads, so it shouldn’t be that hard, right? And we’re still not sure if it’s set right. If you can figure out the clock, I think this is a cute idea, but if you can’t… Also, considering the quality, $40 is a little steep.

Best thing I’ve ever bought.

My daughter was getting out of her bed at 4:00am and wanting to come into bed with us. I don’t mind her snuggling but not until it was almost time to get up (she likes to spread eagle and sleep diagonally). I searched for a clock that would help her tell when it would be time to get up and this was PERFECT. Ever since the DAY we got it, she has stayed in her bed until the "cow starts dancing". I set it for around 6:30am and then she comes into my room and tells me that the cow is awake and she’s allowed to get out of her bed. We talked about what it meant when the cow was sleeping, that meant she had to stay in her bed and was not allowed to get up until the cow woke up. I have no idea why it stuck so well but I love it. The light switches on silently at 6:30 and when she wakes up at night she looks up at it and will go back to sleep if it’s not time. She has started to sleep until 7:30am or 8am because she knows she’s not missing anything. HIGHLY recommend this to keep your kids in bed. My daughter is 2.5 yrs old.

Impossible to set this thing up – terrible user-interface

This looks super cute but has a terrible user-interface. Wasted about 1.5 hours trying to set up even the current time, and was even harder to set up the time for kids to wake. This one went into the garbage.
