Frame arrived broken, frustrating experience
This walker is cute but of poor quality. We purchased it from Babies R Us and were disappointed when we discovered that the frame was damaged. The plastic where you attach the back wheels had broken off, and you could see the orange shards of plastic at the bottom of the box. I called up Kolcraft customer service and they agreed to send a replacement frame free of charge. Great, problem solved, right? WRONG! First of all, they only sent the bottom orange piece, not the full frame. So, I tried removing the orange part from the green part, and realized it’s not made to come apart. I ended up injuring my hand and had to wait for my husband to get home and deal with it. He also injured himself, but succeeded in separating the two pieces. Yay, everything’s fixed, right? WRONG again, chief. The frame Kolcraft sent us didn’t have any holes where the frame should snap together. Weird. And incredibly frustrating. So, I made another call to customer service, sent them photos of the issue, and they made another promise to send the correct part. New frame arrives, and again, it’s the frame with no holes. I call customer service again, send photos of the problem again, and they ship out a new piece again. Third time’s a charm, I guess, because this time they got it right. This process took about a month. Now my baby has a walker, and I’ll admit, she does seem to enjoy it. Another annoying thing about this walker is the way it adjusts… you pull a strap in the back to tighten up the fabric of the seat. Strange. You would think it would make more sense to have something that adjusts on the frame itself. Needless to say, I won’t be purchasing another Kolcraft product, like ever.
Cheap, do not purchase
We got this as a gift. The back wheels came off within a few days. This product is so poorly made, Kolcraft ought to be embarrassed. Just a disgrace. The toys on the tray are boring too. Just a bad product all around.
We got this walker because my daughters nursery is owl themed (there weren’t any reviews at the time). The other reviews are right, it’s fairly cheaply made. My daughter does love it though. She smiles as soon as I put her in it and she reaches for the owls. I wish it had a an “on” mode though. At 5 months she doesn’t know to push buttons and spin the wheel so I have to do that for her in order to get the lights and music to work.Overall I wouldn’t buy it again but it’s okay.
very cheaply made, wheels broke in back and battery powered toy stop working. Only owned it for a month, spent $60!
Great Basic Walker – portable
This was the second walker that we got for our daughter. It wheels around freely, and the braking mechanism for fall protection worked flawlessly. She liked the sound and light bar, but really only played with it until she could really scoot around. Then I took it off so she could see where she was going. We loved the portability, it meant that we could take it with us, and keep her happy and contained when visiting friends and family.
