Cute and Affordable
As a first time mom decorating a nursery for your new baby is not an easy task, I also didn’t realize how expensive it is to find bedding for crib. I did a lot of research before purchasing anything, I went to Target, Babies ‘R’ Us, and Wal-Mart. I also looked online and everything was $160-$260 way too expensive for me.This Hello Kitty bedding set is adorable and goes for $100-$120 on other sites, Amazon sells it for around $70. I couldn’t wait to get it and when it finally came it was even cuter in person. I love it and can’t wait to put in my babies nursery. However if you are looking for 100% cotton crib bedding this bedding set is not it’s 55% cotton and 45% polyester, but if you don’t care about that it’s a really beautiful addition to any baby nursery at such an affordable price. LOVE IT!!
It could be better quality for being Hello Kitty..
I purchased this one some months ago before my baby was born and it cost me $70 aprox. I see now it is much more expensive (almost $100!!)Honestly I think the theme is beautiful and all but for being Hello Kitty (I’ve worked with this license in my country) the materials are not good enough!! It is most polyester than anything, the fabric is not nice, looks bad quality and is stiff. Would it had been 100% cotton things would be completely different. I don’t think the material makes justice to this beautiful character and theme… Only if you are a great fan of Hello Kitty it might be ok to buy this but other than that I wouldn’t recommend this set at all, worse for the price… I don’t think it’s worth it. I decorated my baby’s room with the entire collection and everything looks so cute but the fabric is so bad I feel sorry I didn’t choose something else on Amazon.Hope Sanrio takes note of this and choose another licensee to manufacture these stuff, and supervise the material is good enough for a baby. I myself wouldn’t sleep in such a stiff material! 🙁
Love this set!
I’m Asian so of course I bought everything Hello Kitty for my daughter when I found out I was having a girl. It’s cute but I read the mobile is cheap so I didn’t buy that. I just got the bedding and the wall paper trim.
ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS!!!
i am a HUGE hello kitty fan and knew i wanted a hello kitty nursery for my daughter. this is SUCH a great deal and adorable! colors are vivid and very good quality. my favorite piece is the quilt, which i use as a wall hanging. wonderful, bright, fun colors. i can’t wait till our daughter gets here!
Not very useful, but ever so cute
Traditional crib bedding sets like this aren’t particularly useful and certainly not a necessity for a new baby. With the American Academy of Pediatrics warning against the use of crib bumper pads due to the suffocation and entanglement risks (I don’t believe I’m allowed to post links here, but you should be able to find it with a quick search as it was reported by CNN), and the guidelines saying to use only thin blankets or no blankets at all for infants… thats most of this set deemed decoration-only.We were gifted this set at our baby shower in 2009. It is very, very cute and well-made. The quilt is very thick and plush, and has a variety of textures on it. For this reason, we ended up using it as a tummy time/play mat. My daughter loved exploring the different textures as a baby, and it was thick enough to give her a nice cushioned layer on a tile or wood floor. It also made a great diaper changing mat if I had to change her on the floor, thick enough to cushion her, and to absorb any renegade liquids and spare the floor. As an almost-3-year-old now, she loves the quilt still. It doesn’t quite cover her toes (she’s 3’2), but she loves the kitty design and the warmth. Also, because its so absorbent, I can put it underneath her in bed and it will save her sheets from any accidents. Much more comfy than a plastic sheet. The quilt is also extremely durable. Between urine, vomit, spilled foods etc, it has been washed frequently on quite rigorous washer cycles- and has no damage to show for it.The crib sheet in the set is very average in quality. My daughter never actually ended up sleeping on it, but it was washed several times due to things like the cat sleeping on it, or it getting an odd smell from moving etc. The elastic was damaged within 3 washes (and I wash anything that hasn’t been peed on in cold water).Overall- you don’t need this. If you are going to buy a “crib set” regardless, this is a very cute one. If your budget is tight, just get a few basic crib sheets and a mesh “breathable bumper” and you’ll be set for a fraction of the cost. If you have lots of disposable income or perhaps are a doting grandparent, you could buy the set just for the wonderful quilt 🙂
