Perfect size, perfect material for swaddling!
Overall, I am very impressed with these blankets – they are just the right size (a generous 44 inches square) and a very lightweight, soft cotton. They do not overheat the baby, and they are “stretchy” which is crucial to establishing a secure swaddle. I much prefer these to the slightly smaller SwaddleDesigns flannel blankets (especially for warmer climates or during spring/summer/early fall), and they also make ideal nursing covers and breathable “shades” for stroller naps. I only wish they made them in darker colors/prints so the inevitable stain could be better concealed (it would also be nice to have an organic non-bleached domestically-produced cotton option – these blankets are made in China and I like to buy domestic when possible). Highly recommend, and Amazon seems to have the best price. Well worth the cost for a great swaddle!
These blankets are a must have for new babies
I love them. They are so soft and the perfect size. I didn’t even use them for swaddling much, but they are so useful for other things! I use them in the carseat, and also as a nursing cover, and my baby girl loves to touch and squeeze them. They are good for keeping sun off baby while not making her too hot. They are also great for spit up and slobber. The best thing is they fold up so small I can keep one in my diaper bag at all times. I can lay one down anytime I want to protect my baby from surfaces I dont want her to touch. They are really worth the cost and I’m so glad I bought them.
Great for summer babies – my baby was sweating in his other flannel-type swaddle blanket, but these are much more breathable.
Very good quality material. Even though it is very light it is durable and withstands washes very good. I liked it a lot. Would recommend to buy.
Great multi-use swaddling blanket
I took a couple of days to decide that I actually wanted to order these blankets. I’ve had them for 4 weeks now and love them! They are large and thin, so they’re perfect to swaddle the little guy with. One commentary that made me almost not buy these was that they are totally unfit for winter babies. This is true if they’re used alone, over the top of regular clothes. However, these work great to layer baby with. It’s easy enough to swaddle the baby and then if it feels a little chilly, throw another layer on top. OR, if baby is wearing warmer clothes, this will work as a perfect swaddling layer. Either way, I’m very pleased! One other thing is that this blanket is large enough that it can be used as a nursing cover as well.
The thinnest high quality blankets good for hot weather
I live in where it’s hot, moist & no air conditioning! My baby needs to be swaddled to fall asleep for daytime naps. These are the lightest high quality blankets I’ve found. They are the only ones I’ve been able to use to swaddle him in. They’re similar to aden & anais blankets, but slightly thinner. Not quite as soft either, but that could be just because they’re thinner. The only reason I didn’t give these blankets 5 stars like I did aden & anais, is because of the designs. Cute, but not super adorable. Would be excellent if there were better prints!
perfect swaddling blankets for summertime
We had a summer baby and had little use for all the gobs of tiny flannel baby blankets you somehow collect. I was on the search for something better, and found it in these blankets. They are definitely on the pricey side and were a bit of a splurge, but it is hard to put a price on calming and comforting your infant. After washing the blankets fluff up and get softer like cloth diapers. The patterns are nice and the colors have held up well.Traditional flannel baby blankets are way too small to do a proper swaddle. The Luna Lullaby blankets are very genoursly cut and have enough give to them to allow you to get a nice snug swaddle. The included CD is helpful in learning a few different swaddling techniques. Be sure to watch it a few times, and don’t watch it for the first time while baby is screaming and your trying to figure out how to wrap him up the right way! It will take lots of practice until you can do it as well and fast as the woman in the video does it.The only reason I didn’t give these 5 stars was because the price is a little high.
