Nice to play with, & look at! A winner.
This is a great toy! My 5 month old loves it, and began liking it around 3 months. The colors are beautiful & the wooden rings are a nice touch and make a good sound. The only thing I would change about the Skwinkle is the size. It’s quite long for an infant to handle & could stand to be at least 2″ shorter. We like all of our Manhattan Toys.
I absolutely love the Manhattan toy collection. The first toy I ever bought my LO was the Manhattan Toy Winkel. It’s easy to clean up, it has fun colors and it’s helping my baby develop her grabbing skills. The Manhattan toys are a bit pricey but I’d buy them all over again.
Great all around toy!
My babies favorite toy! He chews, rattles, sticks hands through, and moves little beads around. Great all around toy with two different materials (sensory) – makes it all the more fun. Love it!
Broke with first use
I purchased this on Amazon and it broke with the first use. The center piece that combines the red part broke and ended up in the shape of a circle rather than a figure 8. My child had little or no interest in this toy.
Perfectly and simply engaging…
My son just turned 3 months old and until now, the only toy he’s taken an interest in has been the Taggy his great-aunt made for him. I decided it was time to give him something that he could really practice gripping and moving from one hand to the next so I went to our local toy store for recommendations. The Skwinkle came highly recommended and my son has loved it. The red band is visually stimulating for him and easy for him to grip in his small hands. The colorful discs are a good size for him to gum and have a gentle rattle that interests him without driving me crazy. As for product safety… the shop owner I spoke with was adamant in her belief that companies make toys, not countries. She said that even though this toy was made in China, she has a lot of respect for and faith in the Manhattan Toy company. She personally selects each toy she carries in her store and said that in the 14 years she’s been in business, not one of the toys she’s carried has been recalled. Of course, this doesn’t help with my preference to support companies who manufacture here at home, but that’s another issue. In general, I’m not a fan of “busy” toys. Simple, low-volume, open-ended toys are best. This “Skwinkle” is a winner. I actually recommend just about any toy made by Manhattan Toy. Check out their “Winkle” and the “Whoozit” as well. Very good for the baby who’s ready to graduate from just playing with their hands.
Nice toy, but a bit heavy for tiny hands. I have a feeling she’ll get more use out of it as she gets older. Good looking & well made, though a bit over priced. Probably wouldn’t buy again. Hoping she’ll enjoy it more soon.
Baby loves it!
Colorful and good quality. Durable, easy to clean and just the right size. Teether, but also works as a rattler, as the wood clinks together.
