Milk Storage Bottles
These are great milk storage bottles. They attach easily to most breast pumps, and can go in the freezer or refrigerator. They’re very easy to clean and sterilize also, and don’t seem to change the texture or taste of the milk. They also have quantity markings on the side so you know how much you’ve pumped. If you’re going to be pumping more than 1-2 days a week, I would recommend the Mother’s Milk storage bags instead, simply due to cost. The milk bags come 25 to a pack and are also freezer safe.
I breast feed for 7.5 months a traveled a ton while breast feeding. The Medela bottles are much better for storing milk on the go or get the bags for freezing.
Great for storing small amounts of milk at a time
These bottles are great for storing small amounts of milk, which is the way it should be done. Sturdier than plastic milk bags which can be punctured if they are bumped hard enuf against something else in the freezer. The rack is just OK, but not a necessity. I organized my bottles in a small box which kept them all in one place. The rack allows the bottles to slip out the backside if enuf pressure is put against the front/top bottle. Expensive if you buy alot of them, but worth it if one intends to breastfeed a decent while. Caution to be taken when filling tho. Allow for expansion, else you will have warped bottles (that won’t roll in the rack). This was quickly learned when it happened only once. Filling just to where the bottle narrows to the neck is sufficient enuf to avoid warping.
These bottles are awesome for storing fresh expressed (and frozen) breast milk. They fit perfectly with my Medela Pump-in-Style pump parts. They travel very well (no leaking for me in two-plus months of use) and warm nicely. The ones I received had labels, white lids (a couple extra) and were packaged loose. If you run out of labels, use a bit of masking tape. When freezing the bottles note they definitely expand, even with 1oz of room at the top and will crack/break if they fall on the floor.Overall, I would recommend this product.
great for storage
used to store breastmilk over many months. easy to clean and are still in great shape after many uses. .
Love these bottles
I love that I can pump directly into these bottles with my Medela PIS. I also like that they seal very well and are much better for freezing as there are no leaks. I did drop one of the bottles from the freezer and the bottle itself held up well, but the cap broke. There are no spare caps included.
Excellent storage system. No complaints.
I liked the Milkmate system, especially since I could pump, store, and feed without ever having to transfer milk. The simplicity was nice. These bottles worked beautifully. They fit my Medela breastpump without any issues, and I never had any problems with them leaking. For feeding, we just bought a bunch of cheapo Evenflo bottles and used those nipples/collars/tops with the Milkmate bottles.Of course, you can pump/store/feed with pretty much any standard size bottle that has a tight-fitting lid. The only advantage these particular bottles offer is that they do fit into a handy-dandy fridge dispenser (also on amazon), and being straight-sided, you can pack more milk into a tight space. The dispenser was the sole reason I went with this system, since it seemed like a painless way to make sure the older milk got used first. I also wasn’t SO sure my stay-at-home hubby would read the labels on a bunch of random bottles thrown in the fridge. If the dispenser isn’t a huge deal to you, there are other storage bottles out there that I’m sure are equally good. These bottles come with a plastic spacer thing that fits under the cap, and I think they’re supposed to help prevent overfilling and leaks. I gave up on those things since I never had a problem with leaks, and it meant one less part to clean.
