- The NumiMed liquid dispenser is an easy, safe and accurate way to administer ColicCalm or to give oral medications and vitamins. It prevents air from being sucked into baby’s system and helps babies to swallow more easily without messy spit ups. The clear cup allows you to see and ensure correct dosage. Single doses can be pre-filled for use when needed, at home or away
meh, better off diluting medicine in small amount of milk or use a dropper
It seems like a great idea, but….- way too expensive for essentially just a paci with a hole- the back part that actually holds the medicine is REALLY hard to snap close! Have to fiddle with it every time and it’s annoying.- a lot of the content (medicine) simply does NOT go into the pacifier part – somehow ends up clinging to the container, so you are not sure what amount actually went into baby’s mouth.I eventually gave this thing up and ended up doing the following:- adding medicine to a small amount of milk/formula and just feeding it to the baby (small amount of milk ensure that the baby will drink the entire dosage of medicine)- using dropper/syringe to directly administering medicine/vitamins if I know that the baby does not mind the taste. Some reviewers pointed out that some stuff (like Baby Calm) has think particles to it that would not go through regular bottle pacifier. Well, use dropper then or punch a bigger hole in the bottle paci, because things will get stuck in the NUMI anyways!
Initially, I bought this medicine dispenser to give my baby the Colic Calm, but it also proved itself good at pediatrician’s office, where the nurse used it to give my little one the rotavirus vaccine, and that’s what we use every time we go in for boosters. It is fairly easy to clean and I strongly recommend it.
Did I get a defective one?
I love the concept and thought this was the answer to my prayers. However, the cap doesn’t snap well and the pacifier hole is too big. The result is a mess. Thin meds drip out right away and I had a problem getting thicker meds into the pacifier. It also seems a tad small for larger amounts, although this didn’t affect us yet. Lastly, it is impossible to clean the inside of the pacifier because the opening is so small. I also tried the Ken Med and the Safety First bottle. I liked both better than the Numimed, but the Ken Med cracked after 3 weeks. Eventually, we just used a small nipple and that works great.
Does not work
Tried this with Colic calm -since I read about it on Colic Calm’s website. The medicine (if you can call CC that) flows out the moment you turn this thing over to place int he baby’s mouth. Cant see how it can possibly work with it’s current design.
Perfect way to sneak in medicine
If your baby uses the same shape pacifier, then this is a must have to sneak in medicine when they are sleepy or hungry. the only down side is that the capacity of the cup is 5 mL which quickly becomes outgrown.
Makes giving medicine to a small child very easy. No more worrying about them spitting out what you just put in their mouths. My 3 month old sucks it down no problem.
These medicine dispensers are a lifesaver! I use it every time I have to give my son and kind of medicine as it makes him take the medicine slowly and reduces the risk of him choking. This is a must have in any first aid kit when you have a child under 6 months.
My twins hated the nipple shape, it was impossible to get all the medicine into the nipple from the cup due to the small opening & I couldn’t really clean the nipple part. There’s no way to take it apart to clean it. Also closing the cup is difficult & the air pressure causes medicine to shoot out of the nipple. There are other brands that work much better that will come apart for cleaning & don’t waste so much medicine like the Munchkin brand.
very useful tool, but a bit difficult to close and open… probably they were trying to make it very secure… regardless of this, i bought a second one for on the go diaper bag and use it consistently.
Great for colic calm
My baby had colic, thankfully it’s behind us now. We discovered colic calm, but hated the mess it made when trying to administer to a screaming baby. My baby would never take a pacifier but she did take her meds (colic calm) with this and it virtually eliminated all the mess associated with the black colic calm. Be careful with thinner liquids and new babies as this does have larger holes and liquids can come out fast.
