A major pain!

These were SUCH a pain to clean and use – my kitchen looked like a science lab. I threw them all out.

Doesn’t Leak, Easy to Clean

When I first saw this, I was sure that it would leak, but it just seemed like such an innovative idea that I bought one anyway. The bottle is incredibly easy to clean because both ends can be removed.I unscrewed the nipple ring and the bottom of the bottle. I was so sure that it would leak if I put anything liquid in it. I filled the bottle full of water and tossed it around on a white sheet to see if it leaked. It didn’t, but I still wasn’t sure. So, I washed the bottle in hot water. I’ve noticed that some bottles leak after being washed. Then, I tried the sheet experiment again. It didn’t leak. This bottle is 9 months old and still hasn’t leaked.I also liked how these bottles were wide and took similar nipples as the disposable bottles from Playtex, which makes switching back and forth from the Playtex disposable and reusable bottles much easier and causes less nipple confusion.

Can’t use electric bottle warmer

These bottles were a gift at our baby shower. I am glad I didn’t spend the money on them because the instructions warn not to use them in an electric bottle warmer. We all know you aren’t supposed to microwave bottles either, so you are left with the only other option, placing the bottle in boiling water to warm. That works fine except when you tip the bottle up to feed the baby, the boiling hot water that has been trapped in the vent holes drips down your hand/arm, and potentially onto the baby! Now I have to remember every time to make sure I get a towel and shake the bottle a little to make sure all the vent holes are emptied out before feeding our baby. USE CAUTION

Don’t Buy It!

The only word that comes to mind to describe this bottle is garbage! It leaks and is cheaply made. I’m a nurse and used to working with all types of equipment and I know junk when I see it. All babies get gas, all babies need to burp. The bottom line is the basic 99 cent bottle at your local supermarket will do the job!

I thought they looked great, but my baby hated em.

My little one really got angry over the slow flow of the stage one nipples. although she was young for it, I got her the next ones up and that was entirely too fast. I never could get her to take to these bottles. If she had to spend any length working to get her food on the slower nipples, she’d turn around and really scream if I tried to nurse her since she was too tired and gassy. Faster flow, gagging child and still lot of gas.I loved the way they broke down, but the plastic inserts and the angles never did seem to do anything better about gas than my Avent bottles. It was honestly when I used the wide mouth Handi-craft Dr. Brown bottles that I started really noticing a difference. If you nurse too…. her latch got better with the Dr. Brown’s, and after getting rid of these.

Where are the nipples?

We love these bottles! They do create bubbles when baby is drinking, but the bubbles dissipate almost immediately. The bottles have reduced his gas and they seem to be the only nipples he can suck on without bending or compressing them. That said, we’ve had difficulty finding replacement nipples for them! The stores in our area sell only the stage 2 Vent Aire Natural Shape nipples. The regular stage 1 Vent Aire nipples are too small for these bottles. Still, I’d recommend these bottles highly.

LEAKS

Bought these because my boy has acid reflux and is supposed to eat upright. I was hopful they would work well. However they leak. No matter what I tried they leaked. Had others try them for me, they leaked for them. They are not worth the money, I won’t even attempt to sell them at a yard sale because I dont want to burden anyone with the frustration of a leaky bottle. DO NOT BUY.

Only thing breastfed baby would take

This is the only bottle/nipple our breastfed baby would take expressed breastmilk in. She flat out refused all others. We use these Blue nipples now that my daughter is older (thicker plastic), but used the clear Natural nurser nipples when she was younger and the product still worked and didn’t leak.

Playtex VentAire ADVANCED BPA Free Wide Bottles – 3 Pack

I’m happy with these bottles so far though they are a bit slow with feeding. The multiple parts (5) make it easy to get these bottles clean. My baby took to it easily and he’s both a bottle fed and breast fed baby.

My son cant get anything from this bottle!

I bought one of these bottles because i likes the idea of being more like the breast, and i wanted to breast feed. I couldnt breastfeed but my son only really likes “dome” type nipples. I tried giving him this bottle and he couldnt get anything out of it! He was just sucking air. I looked at the ammount in the bottle after a few minutes and he hadnt gotten anything. I tried twisting the top of the nipple to “open” the hole and tried again. he still had the same problem! I use the normal ventaire ones and he love them and has no problem!

Gas and Leaks

Dr. Brown’s bottles didn’t solve the gas issue, but neither did Playtex Vent Aire. Aside from the fancy name, Playtex did not reduce baby’s painful gas (from breast milk). Also, the bottom can leak if not forcefully tightened – I lost 2 ounces of precious breast milk with these lousy Playtex bottles which were recommended by the women’s clinic. For people who produce little breast milk, losing 2 ounces is like losing large 24 karat gold nuggets in the sink. The number of parts to clean is comparable to Dr. Brown’s bottles, but Dr. Brown’s bottles at least provides you with a cleaning brush to clean the interior nipple; with Playtex, you’re out of luck. I think that I heard the venting taking place ONCE when Playtex Vent Aire was dry. Since then, even when dry, I rarely hear the venting of air. All Playtex does is make you vent your frustrations in the product reviews.

Don’t waste your money and time

These bottles are horrible, first I got only two of this brand because of an emergency since I’ve always used Dr. Browns but they got contaminated in the dishwasher, so I had to run and get at least two of this meanwhile cause Dr. Browns wide neck are hard to find at retailers in my area, so we used these two bottles for 2 days first they come with fast flow wich is Waaay to fast for my little guy and I would say any other baby younger than 6 months old, so I decided to get two nipples medium flow, guess what still fast, specially if You have a gassy baby, then in the last try I got the slow flow and guess what again, tooooo slow, It was like a nightmare, I had to use the small 4ozs Dr. Browns I had at home wich my baby is already drinking 5 ozs so… These Playtex bottles leak horrible, and when you place them in the bottle warmer even worse because they get water in middle of the bottom rim, so they will be leaking anyways, for the amount of parts to clean up, I did not mind I’m used to it, cause I’ve always used Dr. Browns wich have several parts, these Playtex bottles got my baby full of gas wich defeats the porpouse of them bottles, they make so much bubbles in the nipples you can see and hear them, and the last thing is the nipple collapses so bad my baby stoped getting the flow and the nipples are really hard. bottom line, I ordered my 3 set of Dr. Browns wide neck shipping next day and I’ll be ordering a second set very soon. Dr. B best bottles ever specially for gassy babies.

Fine, I guess.

I have a six month old, and we’re transitioning into solid foods and into faster-flow bottles, as he no longer needs the slow flow bottles he’s been using. I obtained these bottles through the Amazon vine program, and am deciding whether I’ll just use these, or if I’ll buy the medium-nippled bottles in the medala line, as we’ve been using those bottles for months 1-6.I’ll probably buy the medala ones. These just don’t feel like anything special. My baby isn’t particularly picky; he’ll drink from anything, so, for me, it’s about 1) how easy is it to clean; and 2) how easy is it to hold? And these fail on both those accounts. My baby needs to transition down the line to using a cup. I don’t see how this curved design will help him do that. And there’s been no benefit in my comfort level in holding them while he drinks, so I don’t see that as a benefit. And they are unnecessarily hard to clean. The bottoms come off, and if there’s a benefit to that (less gas, less fussiness), I haven’t located it – these are just harder to clean with no demonstrative benefit. So I’m just going to pack these away for now and buy the 8 ounce medala bottles for his feedings. It just makes more since to me to continue with a product I already know.

Good Design, Son hated nipple

I love the Vent-air bottles – tthat has been all we have been using for months now. I bought 1 of these becasue my son used to use Avents. he hated the nipple on the bottle. The bottle itself is fine. I love how it comes apart becasue it makes it so easy to clean. It is kind of hard to hold becasue it is so wide though. I can’t take off too many stars for my son’s personal preference but just because a baby likes one natural nipple doesn’t mean he will like another.

Not a fan

I used these for literally a few days after my son was born. Then I switched back to the bottles my daughter had used a couple years prior. I’m glad I saved those because I couldn’t stand these. They leaked everywhere, the nipples were flimsy and my son had the hardest time trying to get anything out of them. I had to switch him to the larger stage and STILL he had problems. Playtex makes decent sippy cups but their bottles are useless.

Great Bottles

I used these with my now 3 year old b/g twins and my now 8 month old b/b twins. My boys still use these, though now we also mix in some other cheaper bottles and use these mainly for bedtime. They really were easier to clean, because food didnt get stuck on the bottom, and they really kept the gas at bay. My sons still nurse occasionally and get breastmilk, and they will take ANY bottle nipple, but for a while this was the ONLY one they would take, so I consider it their favorite. These bottles are really easy to use, and they are, in fact easier to clean! They fit in my Avent bottle sterilizer and they are a nice shape to get the milk easier. I recomend these for all new moms. Though there are many parts, they work MUCH better than the avents and live up to their word that they make gas much less frequent and a problem.

My Favorite Bottle!

These are the first VentAire bottles I’ve used, and I’m impressed! The air bubbles really do vent out! My baby wasn’t too great about taking a bottle before, but he actually started drinking from these. He seems to like the nipple. I like the angled shape of the bottle because it makes for a more comfortable feeding. The one draw back to these bottles is that there are two extra parts to clean. But if I’m washing a bottle anyway, it’s really not a big deal. I also like that the bottom comes off because It allows for better cleaning.

The bent neck REALLY helps with gas.

I love these bottles. My NB became accustomed to the Breastflow type so it was hard to switch him, but we had to due to such bad gas problems. The only problem I found with these were the nipples.. We got a fast-flow and even though he’s a savage eater, it was just a little too fast for him so he gave up completely. Our babysitter got over it fast so she went to walmart and bought some slower-flowing nipples (same brand, same fit) and is swearing by them. I BF my baby, but when we wean him we’ll be sure to get a slower-flow nipple top and just use the fast-flow for his rice cereal/BM concoctions. Definitely would buy again if I hadn’t already stocked up, haha! One thing to note:: These bottles DO NOT work if you’re trying to switch parts with any other brand.(which is why the docking of 1*) It’s not as wide a neck as Breastflow and Gumdrop, and not small enough to fit standard hospital bottles and Medela brand. If you get this brand of bottle, you’ll only be able to use the corresponding parts. For us it’s no biggie, it works the best and has so far proven to be a pretty decent investment.

Not Bad, still prefer other brand

My wife and I have been using the Avent bottles with our first child, and have been very happy with them. These seemed to be along the same lines and cheaper, so we gave them a try.Overall, I would say that these are a great product for their price. High quality, durable, and has a wide nipple so our daughter can go back and forth from bottle to breast. Like the Avent bottles, they are easy to clean and there are not any thin tube/weird parts that are hard to clean and need to be replaced periodically (which is what drove me away from the Dr. Browns and Tommee Tippie bottles.) They do have one more piece than the Avent bottles, but that’s not too much of a big deal. In my mind, the simpler the design is, the better. The things that I do not like as much are relatively minor. First, the nipple has a softer ring section that seems to allow it to collapse in (not flat) if there is too much pressure in the bottle. The second is that although the bottle does vent just like it aims to do, it seems that it takes more pressure in the bottle to cause it to vent compared to the Avent bottles. This is only really a problem when the little one is getting lazy at the end of her bottle, and will just start to let go of the nipple causing it to vent through the nipple. Third, now that the little one is starting to want to hold her bottle herself, she has a harder time holding these. Over all, these are minor issues. They are less expensive, so I could see these being a good alternative for some parents.I would grab these in a pinch if there were no Avent bottles, but I’m sticking to the Avent.

Love these bottles! A “MUST add to registry” item for sure.

Baby has feeding issues so we have to feed him in an upright position (the NICU feed position) Other bottles were hard to use in this position, but the angle of the ventaire makes it so easy. The bottles have 5 pieces (body, nipple, collar, base and silicone vent) They are easy to clean and assemble, however if you do not dry the pieces well water will drip from around the bottom, or the collar. These are all white so great for boy or girl. I did however prefer the brighter colors that the old ventaire bottles came in.(deep blues, purples, etc)

best bottles for formula feeding

we bought this for my daughter because we do a combination of breast feed and formula feed. This one is more natural to other bottles we have used before and also the ventaire technology is simple yet amazing. our daughter used to get a lot of gas with AVENT bottles but ever since we switched to these she did not have any problems. Also you dont have to burp her as much, very minimal amount of gas actually goes in while feeding.i recommend this product to every parents.

Great Baby Product

I have used Playtex bottles for all my children. Now on baby number three, I was excited to get the new and improved Playtex bottles. I love the wide because they are easier for my baby girl to grab hold of and learn to hold her own bottle. What I love about this new style is how very little to no air is sucked in. All my kids had problems with gas bubbles as babies and these bottle really helped stop this problem. This meant a better nights sleep for them and me.I also love that Playtex uses bottle liners. Easy cleaning, allows for breastfeeding moms to store milk and many other advantages you’ll find as you use them.Highly recommend these bottle to everyone. Also a great gift for a new mommy to be.

Great bottles

I use ONLY these with both of my children. If you are looking for a slow flow bottles, those are the ones. I have tried several brands, like born free and dr Brown. Even though Born free claim the nipple is slow flow, but my infant just chokes with milk… Vent Air is easy to assemble and to clean. The angle makes it easier to hold the bottle. Dr Brown has too many parts to clean and to store. Overall, i really like these bottles, and strongly recommend them.

These are very good bottles. I used them with my daughter because it keeps the air out of the bottles, so babies dont have upset tummies. My son is taking good to them, and they work very well in a bottle warmer.

Only leak when not toally dry.

These bottles work very well as long as all parts are totally dry. I’ve had them leak several times but it’s been because I haven’t let the latex valve on the base air dry completely. I use them at home but would not be confident traveling with them.

Great Bottle!

I have been using Avent bottles for my previous two children and after they redesigned them with the insert I found I didn’t care for them. I tried these out as an alternative with my third child and I love them. I had tried Playtex in the past but didn’t care for the smaller nipple and found that if I wasn’t really careful with sealing the bottle it would leak. I find that this new Advanced bottle has a wider nipple similar to the Avent bottle and that the pieces in the bottom fit better when closing, My baby hasn’t had any colic issues with these and we were able to take her off Gripe Water and she still doesn’t have issues with colic. Therefore, I believe these bottles are doing a great job with keeping the air from going through the nipple. They are easy to clean and store. I highly recommend these if you are looking for a wider nipple and something that is easy to clean but will still prevent airflow to your child.

Our 15 month old daughter likes them; easy to grip, good flow, easy to clean.

I can’t speak to the ‘science’ behind the design and if the ‘ventAire’ does what it claims to. But they are a good well-designed bottle that our daughter likes. They are different then most bottles as there is not only the nipple and nipple ring on top but 2 pieces on the bottom that comprise the ‘ventAire’ system. I thought at first this would be a hassle but it is not much extra work to clean (more pieces to keep track of though). In fact it makes cleaning the bottle itself possible with a sponge since with the bottom and top pieces taken off you can put a sponge in from either end.If you are new to bottles though I do highly recommend this as an essential piece of baby equipmentOXO Tot Bottle Brush with Nipple Cleaner and Stand, OrangeThe bottle brush has gotten us up to 15 months, could not have done bottles without it. It helps for these as well although it is not essential as it is for regular bottles. In the end our daughter took right to these and the nipples on the 9 ounce ones seem to flow well for an older baby. If you are willing to keep track of a couple or more pieces per bottle as a good trade off for the ‘ventAire’ system then these are a good bottle choice.
