Best Baby Shower Gift Rating 😉
So a few friends and I are pregnant simultaneously, and it’s only fair that we attend to each other’s baby showers. Since I’ve used this brand before with my first born I know exactly what moms want. I bought a few of these 5oz Pura Kiki Stainless Steel Infant bottles for my best friend who is having her first this week and she called me a few days after to thank me for such extraordinary gift. She didn’t know about the existence of stainless steel baby bottles and much less of eco friendly ones. She loved the pink, purple, and green colors I got for her baby girl. You can’t go wrong if you buy these for parents to be!
Nice bottle but is already showing signs of wear
This bottle is light weight and convenient to pack. However, the plastic coating on the bottle, which has been in use for only 5 months, is coming off. It has never been in the dishwasher and is not used much. My baby is not fond of the larger nipple. The nipple has venting via a rather long, but very narrow – read impossible to clean – tube. Milk gets stuck in there and it is hard to get out. If you make up formula in the bottle, any granule of formula can get stuck in the threads of the top causing the bottle to leak. So in all, I like that this is stainless steel and is light weight. However, the configuration of the nipple and the deterioration of the plastic coating on the outside gives it an average rating.
Ok but prefer the Kid Kanteen
Nothing wrong with these bottles, work just fine. But I think the Kid Kanteen ones are nicer looking.OTOH, the Pura bottles have sippy cup attachments so they’re a good investment.I stuck some duct tape to my bottle as a label, that was a stupid thing to do but on taking it off, a little of the paint chipped off. Granted I shouldn’t have used tape that stuck so strongly but didn’t like the paint coming off.
Nice , but sippy adapter not so hot.
Bought this for my 17mo, I like the quality of the bottle. I bought the sippy tops and about 5 min in my boy realized he can turn it upside down and bend the tip- water comes out all over. So if you have a crafty baby like mine you may want a sturdier sippy top. Otherwise I like the quality of this item.
Love these sippy cups
I love these sippy cups. Very easy to clean and no plastic, which I care about. They do not leak from the ring, but can leak from the nipple. I tend to use the sippy cup rather than the nipple.
Very easy to use! Measuring isn’t as hard as I thought. However, I would get the stainless steel instead of any color bc even the logo is chipping off the stainless steel bottle I got.
Love these bottles!
Bought these when I read that even BPA free plastic is harmful, especially for babies. I’m under no misconception – plastic is everywhere, in everything, and there is no way I can totally eliminate it from our lives – but where I can limit exposure, I will. These bottles are excellent – no leaking, easy to clean, lightweight and they transform into a sippy cup. We bought the sippy cup spouts and they work great. My son started drinking water from the spout when he was about 5 months. I also prefer these to the Lifefactory glass bottles, which I also tried, because these have a wider nipple to mimic breastfeeding, while the Lifefactory bottles have very narrow nipples. My son much prefers these. I’ve had these bottles for at least two months and have had no issue with paint chipping. I have the green and the aqua bottles and will definitely buy more.
great meal time cups
I use these as meal time cups with my 3 year old and my 1 year old. Easy to clean, no drinking straw bits to collect nasty junk. But I love that these cups can convert to toddler sippy cups using silicone which I will try soon. I feel that silicone would be more comfortable on forming teeth and teeth alignment.
Tried to order the unpainted, waited over a month and it never came back in stock. Ordered the teal blue. I sanitized it per directions (water no longer boiling, and bottle cannot hit sides of pot. Nipples and lid CAN be boiled). The nipples had tiny black marks on them that don’t come off, and the bottle has peeling paint. This is not acceptable!!! Seems VERY dangerous for my child. I was trying to save money over Kid Kanteen. Guess I should have known better. I never even got the chance to see if the baby liked it. Also, the vents on the nipples are REALLY long and very difficult to clean. Great concept (that you could progress to a sippy cup). Unfortunately, very poorly executed.Wish I would have read more of the reviews…a lot of others commented on the paint peeling too, yet still gave high star ratings, which confuses me.Thankfully, amazon will return it.
love the stainless steel
wonderful way to avoid plastics – works great and has multiple different nipples/sippy tops to choose from. Also has a nice cover.
love this bottle stays cold longer
love this bottle stays cold longer, stays warmer longer. my son has dropped it a ton of times and still in great conditionwe don’t use the nipple just the sip spout we purchased so I can’t comment on that nipple
Great quality but not baby’s favorite
I love that this cup is made of a safer material for my daughter’s milk and water. My daughter refused it as a bottle but is now using it with the sippy cup nipple. It is nice to have that option because the cup should last a long time.
My daughter uses this with the sippy spout. This is my favorite sippy cup. I like knowing it’s I’ve made a healthy choice for her and she likes the cup. So all is good with Pura for us.
Exactly what I was looking for- light, non-breakable, chemical freeAnd I can warm up milk/formula in a pinch just by holding it under warm running water
