Ok, but not same as older version
Bought this thinking it was the older version which had a better Velcro design, softer plusher interior, and overall better fit. It is fine, but I keep choosing the original over this when I go to diaper my baby
Great newborn diaper cover for 0-3 month
I have been using these on my newborn from 5 days until 3 months (still fit but running out of room. For the first month I used indian prefolds until she grew into my Best Bottom inserts. I have 2 Rumparooz (newborn) and 2 Thirsties (size one) covers that I am using until she fits the Best Bottom cover. And these 4 covers usually last me to laundry every other day (although I use BumGenious pocket diapers overnight). These work great as daytime diapers and I like the price. And the prints are very cute as well.
Very cute cover!
My son won’t be here for a few months, however to be prepared we are purchasing diapers now. As a first time mom and new to cloth diapering, I think this diaper cover will be very user friendly, the velcro or aplix seems very straight forward to use. The legs have double gussets, which are supposed to help with containing waste, as well as providing a good fit for newborn legs. I think we will like using this cover. The pattern is very cute too!My only complaint is that this diaper came with some dirt spots on it, I am going to keep this diaper cover, I will wash it before using. However, I was a little disappointed to see the spots on my new diaper cover.
I like these because the newborn size fits well on small babies. The Aplix is fast and easy to use, BUT, i prefer using Thirsties duo wrap snap size one . Ir creates a better fit around the waist. Any velcro covers dont really fasten well around the waist, and then the velcro tends to rub up against LO’s belly and causes a rash/marks. Still a good buy though for these. IF you get any velcro covers, these are it!
I like this diaper cover. I’m not sure it would have fit her at 4lbs, but it fits around 7lbs for sure, which is why I just give it 4 stars. My daughter has itty bitty chicken legs and is very long and skinny, so I think that is why it didn’t fit quite right at first. I love that the aplix tabs overlap. The snap versions of this diaper, which we also have, don’t fit quite as well since they don’t overlap at the waist. It’s adorable on babies. Gives them a larger bottom so we had to go up to 0-3 instead of newborn clothes when she wears these diapers. It holds everything in, unlike the disposables. Definitely recommend this diaper for those first few months before the one size diapers fit!
Peacock Aplix color is off
We own a couple of these and like how they work. No leaks so far and baby appears comfortable in them. However, we’re disappointed with the Peacock Aplix color because it doesn’t look as pictured… it’s basically plain green, not more like teal, as the picture would suggest.
Best Cover for Small Babies
This is the best cloth diaper cover for small babies. I’ve tried several brands and this one is by far the best. My baby girl is petite. She has JUST outgrown newborn clothes at 2 months old and still uses these covers on their smallest setting. The double leg gussets actually snug around her tiny thighs and keep the wetness and poop blowouts off her clothing. She’s a 1 poop a day kid and that poop is big, so containing it is a tough job. Bonus, the cover is cute. The colors are great and we used the pink one in her newborn pictures with a pink hat my mom knitted her and it was adorable. We used this cover for pictures at 6 weeks in a dark purple dress a friend knitted and they also came out super cute. I have 4 of these covers and plan to buy the next size up when she outgrows them (which won’t be for quite some time).
I wish it was not so expensive..
But right after opening, my boyfriend and I decided this was our favorite cover so far. And it’s also the last brand to try, since we have at least one of every brand cloth diaper/ diaper cover and consistently switch things up depending on laundry day, mood, outfit, agenda, etc.So yeah. This is my favorite, it’s not fluffy on the inside like Charlie Banana which is good so it won’t hold the urine smell, and it’s soft/pliable enough that it shouldn’t dig into my 4mo’ old’s skin at all. Plus the velcro is very strong and each flap can be layered over the other because it’s velcro’d on both sides of those little white flaps. I won’t buy again because of the price, and since we’ve already invested so much in other diapering systems.. maybe if it was $10-13 a piece. But if you’ve got $50 to spend on diaper covers and don’t have any others.. i’d put it all down on this brand. (only speaking for the covers though)
Did not work for us…
Cutest print EVER….BUT these did not work for our 15 lb chunky boy! Especially the velcro…the elastic on the covers are SO tight it bunched up in the front middle and the velcro strip was hitting his tummy. The are tons of different cloth diapers because no kid is the same size. As much as I loved the concept of the inner gusset…these just didn’t work for us. Loved Amazon prime so we got to try it out and return with no hassle! We are sticking with Flips for now- they are working great with no leaks!
The fact that these covers have tummy elastic means that the sharp edge of the Velcro can/will rub your baby’s belly. May not be a problem for smaller babies but my son is a toddler and he had a raw spot after about 30 minutes of wear. I love the print and the fit, but we probably won’t use it much if at all. I’ve already contacted rumparooz directly to see if anything can be done, it’s an expensive cover and I can’t afford to pay $16 for something I can’t use.Edit: After contacting Rumparooz they said since it’s been used they couldn’t accept it as a return and I’m stuck with the cover. I decided to just use it at home where my son is mostly walking to alleviate the raw spot. Now after 4 washes (yes that’s right, 4 washes) the velcro is completely shot. I put this cover and a prefold on my son and when my friend picked him up the diaper completely popped off of him. I’m in contact with Rumparooz yet again in hopes that I’m not stuck with this useless thing. There’s also a tiny hole in the butt of the cover, even though I don’t wash my diapers with anything that might damage them. This was even the only velcro cover in the wash!
We love these!
These covers fit my preemie twins from the time we brought them home from the hospital (~6.5lbs) to now at 14lbs (though they’re snug). Best of all we’ve never had a poop leak in them! We’re using primarily these and Thirsties covers and prefer them to the Thirsties – the velcro has held up MUCH better and, for the most part, they haven’t discolored. Turns out our babies’ poop stains anything white so the trim on all the Thirsties covers is now very dingy looking, while the Rumparooz have same color trim and look much better after many washings. The fabric also has a slightly softer feel.
Good NB cover
Good NB cover! Fits better with flat or prefolds than my other snap covers! Haven’t had any blow outs or leaks! Fits well around legs!
Not that great
I bought these because we liked the newborn covers– the fit was just right for our little 6-lb baby girl over newborn prefolds and kissaluv newborn fitted diapers. However these one-size covers fit my now 10lb baby very poorly. When I fold down to the smallest or medium size, the garter around the leg holes gets really bulky. No leaks though. Even at a larger setting there are garter marks around her thighs and she has quite skinny legs. The thirsties x-small and duo wrap covers and the blueberry coveralls fit her much better. Maybe when she gets bigger, when we won’t have to fold the rise down so much, these will fit better. These are my least favorite covers and I honestly regret this purchase.
easier than snaps & fits just as well
I bought this at the same time as a Rumparooz Cloth Diaper Cover with a snap and like both equally well. done correctly, we had no problems with leaks, it is soft, comfortable, cute, and easy to care for.
So I have nothing bad about the product, it works great. I usually use it 3 times before discarding (put in 3 inserts)The color is nice and true to the one in the picture. It is really convenient to open and close, as normal disposable diapers. The only set back is if you forget to put the Velcro in the wash position before putting in the pail, cause then when you wash it will stick to other stuff in the wash.I totally recommend the product.
I like this cover, it’s very soft, does not feel as plastic-like as some others. Used this on my son from about a week old – still using it and have more room to grow with it. It’s a great cover with leg gussets and I have used fitteds and prefolds under it with great success. All around a good newborn option.
One of my favorite covers
I purchased a couple Rumparooz covers along with Assunta for my newborn and the quality of these covers are great. My baby was 7.5 lbs at birth and at 1 month is now about 9 months and they still fit great with room to grow. I love the aplix because it makes diaper changes fast and I can get a perfect fit.
good cover but leaves marks
I only used this cover 3 or 4 times and can’t use it that much more since it leaves red marks on my sons legs and belly. I’m keeping it for the next baby maybe his son won’t be as sensitive.
