- Side impact protection
- 5 point harness with up-front harness adjustment
- Ergonomic carry curve handle for easy carrying
- Easily clicks into base and stroller
- Infant head roll
Extremely frustrating unless you get matching stroller
Here’s what I’ve learned in the last couple months: don’t get the obscure brand of baby anything. I can find any stroller this will work with. Or any adapter for any stroller. I wrote to Safety 1st and they were confused by my model number even though the seat is brand new. I wish I’d just gotten the whole travel system or stayed away from this brand.
Large but nice
I should first preface this review by stating that we never actually were able to use this car seat. It was too large for our vehicle so we had to return it.I researched car seats for some time and ultimately decided that I would like to go with a car seat that had a higher weight limit, allowing us to not only leave baby rear-facing longer for safety reasons, but also giving us more time to use that convenient snap in and out feature that’s so great for sleeping babies. This seat is lovely. It appears well-made, the fabric feels nice and seems like it would be great for wiping up messes or washing clean. The blue/teal is a little brighter than I was expecting but it certainly wasn’t a deal-breaker for us. It is super easy to install with the latch system, however it does not have the newer latch connectors that some seats do. Still, not a deal breaker, as I was not expecting to have to take the base out of the car all that often. The handles and flaps and belts all seem to move easily and look well-made. The seat itself snaps in and out of the base easily. Our only beef with this seat is that it is so large (long). We have 2011 VW Jetta Sportwagon. This is not a compact car by any means–a sight from a giant SUV, mind you. We installed the seat with no problems but there was no way that my husband and I could ride comfortably in the front seats with this installed in back. We are not especially tall people–I’m 5’8″ and my husband is 5’10” so we don’t require a huge amount of leg room.Unfortunately, we live in an area that we don’t have a lot of access to stores where we can actually put our hands on car seats. So, I registered for this sight unseen, based solely on reviews. I’m sure it would work just fine for a larger vehicle–I assume a mini-van even. I would recommend that if you are in the market for an infant car seat, that you go to a store that allows you to try out the car seats in your car before you buy. We finally made a trip to the closest BabiesRus so that we could snap a few in the car and decide which one(s) would work for us.
AMAZING, but arrived old…
I could not rave about this car seat enough! It is user friendly and easily adjustable! There is also ample room for your child to grow! Our almost two year old daughter is still in this seat and fits perfectly! (We don’t use it to carry her, but she is more than safe and happy in this seat!) We will have to move her into another larger seat not because she has grown out of it, but because she is going to have a little brother that will need it.The only reason I can’t give it 5 stars is that it was sent to us already old. It was a year older than all of the other seats in stores.
I’m happy with it!
I love the color/design of this carseat, it’s very gender neutral. I have a little girl, but this would work for either a boy or girl. The price is fabulous as well!I was thrilled to open the box and discover that the car seat base is included with the seat, I didn’t realize that until I opened it. I thought I’d have to buy the base separately. Also, I love that the strap adjuster is very accessible, you don’t have to flip the seat over to loosen/tighten the straps. You can loosen/tighten the straps while your baby is in the seat just by pulling or loosening the adjusting strap down by baby’s feet.My only complaint is the visor…it’s sort of hard to pull up or down. But other than that, I love this seat! Also, I have the jeep liberty stroller, and this seat snaps into that stroller (which I also recommend!)
I haven’t had my baby yet, so this review is solely based on the look of the carseat and playing with it, but it is much better than I expected! I researched a ton of carseats, and I finally went with this one based on the reviews and the consumer reports, and the fact that my daughter’s convertible carseat was a Safety 1st and we loved it. I also liked the price — all the other ones with high reviews were so expensive! I am very glad we went with tihs one. The colors are good for a boy or a girl, although the blue color is a lot brighter than it appears in the picture, it is still really cute. this carseat is bigger than my other one (that only went up to 20 lbs), but I expected that, and it is a lot lighter than I thought it would be. We installed it in our mini-van and it fits perfectly, and is very easy to install and get in and out of the van. I did use the latch at first, but it wasn’t very secure, but I think that has more to do with my van than with the carseat itself — I drive a 2004 which is the first year they started using LATCH, so I just dont’ think mine was made for infant seats that go up to 35 lbs since most of them weren’t that big 7 years ago. I used the seat belt and it fits perfect, nice and snug. I love the material on this carseat. We live in South Texas and my baby is being born in May, it gets over 100 degrees here with 100 percent humidity, and most of the carseats we looked at had microfiber material or some other kind of velour-ish, wintery material. I was so worried my baby would get overheated in those seats, but this one is perfect, a nice, cool fabric that will wipe clean very easily.I highly recommend this carseat, it is perfect if you are looking for a bigger carseat without spending a lot of money.
