This is a nice piece of affordable furniture. Be advised that the color is much darker than the chocolate color in the photo. It’s almost black. It also scratches easily, so expect to use the furniture pen. And if you scratch down to the particle board, the pen ink eventually turns bluish.Other than that, it’s really nice.
I have a 6 month old and we’ve used this as our primary changing table since he was born.Pros:Arrived in good conditionDidn’t seem too difficult to assemble (my husband took care of it)Way cheaper than most changing tables that look this niceOpen shelf is very handy. As are the drawers. I keep all the clothes that currently fit my son in this changing table, it’s very convenient.Cons:It’s cheap material and you can tell when you look at the back, which is unfinishedAnd – THE EDGES ARE SUPER SHARP!!!! Was not a big deal when our son was younger, it’s a much bigger deal now. I had a blanket over the back side of the changing table and he was squirmy and kicked it and started crying. He likes having his diaper changed, it’s not like it’s violent kicking, but it’s really easy for him to get himself on the back end of the table. I’ve doubled up the blanket covering it so it’s not as bad now but it’s rather ridiculous that I have to do so in the first place. My advice is – if you’re going to use this changing table beyond 6 months get one that won’t easily cause bodily harm to your child. There are other reasonable looking changing tables at a similar price point. Having a high back to a changing table doesn’t even make sense, you want the sides as low as possible so they’ll hold the pad in securely but won’t be a risk to your child.
South Shore Angel Changing Table, Chocolate
This is one of the hardest freakin’ pieces of furniture I have ever put together. The instructions contain no words whatsoever; only pictures that are not entirely clear or easy to understand. Make sure if you buy this to pay close attention to everything in the pictures! One small mistake can completely mess up the assembly process. My partner and I have already spent almost 6 hours today putting it together, and it’s still not finished. I expected it to be made of real wood, but when I received it I realized it was press board. Make sure you put it together on carpet like the instructions state, as the press board scratches incredibly easily. Although it is press board, the manufacturer has done a nice job of making the finished product look good. It is worth keeping, I am just glad I didn’t have to put it together by myself as it would have been IMPOSSIBLE!
Not the easiest thing to set up, the directions could be more clear… but once you get through the frustration its worth it. Looks great in the nursery and the shelves and drawers are very convenient.
Nice, affordable and stable
I am currently 8 months pregnant and ordered this changing table because we were looking for one that that drawers. This is one of the very few that has them – which kinda surprises me. My husband who has been putting together baby gear for 6 months now says that this was one of the hardest things to put together. It has many pieces and it does take a while to put together. At first I was concerned with it not being stable enough, but it turns out that it is. We have it all nicely set in our nursery waiting for our boy.
Beautiful product, beautiful price!
It looks fantastic in our nursery! There were no marks on the wood from shipping, it was easy to set up, and it looks like we paid $300+ for it! Happy, Happy customers!
