We bought this glider to replace wood rocking chair which started making wood cracking sounds. We tried several gliders in the past and they were all super quiet, so we decided to upgrade to a glider.Assembly was easy, although a bit confusing. The instruction say to tighten the screws and then a paragraph later they say that we should not tighten the screws yet until we assemble more parts. So it took me about 10 minutes to assemble and then we tried it for the first time. When I set on it, it made a lot of wood cracking sounds (much more than our old rocking chair) and also the cushions made some squeaking sounds. If your goal is to put a baby to sleep, this glider is probably not for you.One more thing, the glider is smaller than other gliders I tried.Bottom line: It doesn’t do the most important feature of a glider, which is to glide quietly (at least the item that I got)…
The chair arrived in perfect condition…..although only ONE flaw—–It came with TWO right arms. This doesn’t change my opinion as to the quality and niceness of the chair though. I called the manufacturer and within a few days I had a replacement arm. The chair was SUPER easy to assemble, even being 9 months pregnant! The fabric is very soft and the cushions are great and “cushiony!”. The color is beautiful. We are VERY pleased with this glider. Its very solid and well put together.
Make sure you know what you r getting
We got the chair last night. It was pretty easy to assemble. You can see a few spots with chipped paint.. Cheap work. The only thing that surprised me is that it is Stork Craft glider! If I knew that it was SC I would have gotten it for much less!! But there is nothing about manufacturer in description! I assumed it was a different chair.. I am not an expert to know what is what… I just didn’t wanna mess with return, so I’m keeping it for this money.. Overall experience is ok. it is an average glider for short term use.. My baby is due in a few month, so we’lll see how it will serve its duty))
Very nice glider!!!
I received this glider in about a two weeks time. Its a really nice looking glider with ottoman. the color matches perfect with my daughters ivory furniture since the fabric is a light beige color. The glider itself is cushioned enough to relax with my baby, very comfortable for the price!!!
Wanted to love it … disappointed.
I just received glider and ottoman and put it together. The back of the chair has a crack/split in the wood that extends from the hole for the screw to the first peg. All the pegs that are in the back creek very loudly with every movement and it feels as though they are about to break. I’m only 150lbs (8 months pregnant) and it feels very insecure. The chair also has a very strong smell of paint. This surprises me considering there’s quiet a few spots where it wasn’t even painted well. Probably could have used another coat of paint on it and allowed it to dry before packaging it. There’s also splinters in some parts of the wood where the holes were drilled in.The cushions are comfortable, but the one for the back had 2 stain spots on it.Assembly was easy as the only thing needed to be put together was the back and arm rests. Everything else was pre-assembled in the box.I am contacting Storkcraft directly to see if I can at least get a replacement back for the chair. I would give it a higher rating because that would eliminate the load creaking sound the chair makes which would make it useless when trying to rock a baby to sleep. I will update my review and rating depending on how things go.
my husband put it together alone
i love it!! very comfortable and not too bulky for a small room. i love the footstool too. no complaints here.
Okay for the price
I bought it for the price and stool and have had it for four months. Quality was a little disappointing. The wooden edges weren’t sanded well and one of the arm cushions was sewn in a twisted way. Drives me nuts, but I’ll get over it. It works well and does what it needs to.After four months, the seat cushion is about half it’s original thickness (I’m only 140 pounds). Glides well, but there is starting to be a little clunking noise coming from the chair. Also, cannot clean it easily. My husband likes it well enough but wishes it were a little taller so he could rest his head on it (he’s 5’10").
Very comfortable even the husband says so. Purchased to have something to rock grandson when he comes to visit. Woods creaks some but a bit of parafin wax does the trick.
Ok for the price
We spent much more on the glider for our son’s nursery and decided to try one from amazon this time. Not hard to put together. Material is cheap fabric and the cushions are thin and feel like just cheap foam. Probably will replace the cushion. My husband is tall and this glider is very short, I’m 5’8" and it’s ok for me, but it would be nice if it were a little taller. I love the stool
