Pretty good value
It works well but man there is a pretty big difference between this and the Dutailier. Our sister in law has the latter and not only is it more comfortable but the rocking motion is smoother. Obviously the Dutailier is more than twice as expensive but if you can afford it, I would definitely go for that. We use this sometimes but it’s not our go to place to comfort our newborn. We actually like using a exercise/birth ball to gently bounce our son in our lap… that seems to work better for us than the glider.Just a heads up, don’t try to sit on the ottoman. It is not very well made and I thought I was going to break it when I gently sat on it (by myself).
Just ok. Ottoman fabric slightly different…bunched
What I like…Color is true to picture.Quick shipping. No damage to product when it came.Very few pieces for easy assembly. The price. What I didn’t like…The ottoman fabric is thinner than the actual chair cushion fabric. There are seams in the ottoman that are uneven and create bunching.Of the 6 screws that have to be screwed in, one of the holes is completely off and we have to drill a new hole to use one of the screws.Quite a bit of creaking on one side. You have to sit just right and not glide too much for the creaking to stop. For the price, I still think this was a good buy even with the issues the chair and ottoman have.
Decent quality for wood, but foam on arms is cheap
The wood is a decent quality, but the foam padding on the arms is really cheap. The foam padding on the ottoman is also really cheap. We received the box in good condition, but the ottoman had a crack in the wood. Amazon made good on it and gave us a partial refund on the order.Overall, it’s a decent glider and is comfortable (at least the seat and back cushions on the chair are of a decent padding quality. It was also easy to put together.
I wanted to love it but…
I would like to note that I spent weeks trying to find the perfect glider. Having a newborn, I wanted one that not only glided but also reclined for those sleepless nights. I didn’t think it was too much to ask but apparently it is. I did not want to spend more than $300 so all the Dutalier’s were out. What I liked and eventually made me decide on the Status Veneto was the color (gray and black where most gliders are light colored fabrics) and the nursing ottoman (breastfeeding my child I thought this would come in handy.) Unfortunately, when it arrived, the nursing stool was broken :(. It was more of a hassle to return it and there was really no where on Amazon where I could ask for a partial refund or replacement. Also, I love the color but the fabric is cheap and itchy. Again, I want to love it. But if I had to do it over again, I would have settled for a light colored, none itchy, plushier reclining chair than buying this one again.
Poor quality; item arrived damaged.
So this poor glider/ottoman was shipped out of AZ, traveled to NM, arrived in my city in CO, and then for some reason went back to NM, then back to CO before it finally arrived on my doorstep. The box had seen better days, but I still don’t think that’s to blame. The ottoman was damaged when we pulled it out of the packaging – a large crack in the wood of the base. We were only offered the option to return the entire product, glider and all, and by then it was already set up and a hassle to return to the box and ship out. Also, the glider has a grinding noise every time it moves – it doesn’t matter how you are sitting in it, it’s a grind forward/grind back. If your baby is distracted by these noises, this is not the best option.Overall, we purchased this for the color, and that I am happy with. Everything else? Feels like a waste of money.
A wonderful chair at an excellent price.
I’ve known people to have these chairs from other companies that cost at least 3 times the price. It is very comfortable and rocks nicely. The only function I would miss is a lock on the glider but so far it has been a wonderful addition to our nursery. We have been very comfortable rocking our little one to sleep in this chair.
As seems to be the case with all of the Stork Craft gliders, this one started to squeak the minute I sat in it. We’ve tightened the bolts several times and it still squeaks incessantly, to the point where I can’t rock in it at all. I basically use the glider as a still chair with good arm rests for me to place my nursing pillow on. I use the chair almost every time I nurse and it’s been really useful, but again, just as a regular chair and NOT as a glider. There are probably cheaper options out there if you just want a regular chair with high arm rests.
Great Glider for a Great Price!
Very happy with the glider! Had to put it together, but it took my husband and I about 10 minutes to assemble. The ottoman comes assembled and you just place the back and arms onto the seat. Maybe 10 screws total. It came in good condition and the gliding mechanism is very smooth. I was trying to find a grey glider that wasn’t really expensive and this is the only one I could find so we had no idea if it was going to be nice or comfortable, but I am very happy with it. It fits me perfectly – I am 5’6″, but my husband who is 6’2″ thought it was very comfortable as well. Would recommend!
Good value for the price
This glider is easy to assemble, looks good, is comfy and glides smoothly. I really like it. The downside is the fabric is not the best quality and after only a couple weeks of constant use it started to make a lot of noises. My husband will try getting rid of it, I hope it works because right now I can’t use it to nurse my baby with all the noise it makes.
Not sure about assembly, my husband put it together on his own one evening and he didn’t complain. Otherwise, I love it for feeding and rocking my son. The arms are cushioned which is great for those long feedings in the begging. My only complaint is that as a short person (5’2") I have to sit on a pillow to feel truly comfortable but that’s no big deal. Cleans up well and looks great in our nursery.
I was so excited that I found a grey chair and it had decent reviews! We have a Shermag for our first child, but was making creaking sounds, so I wanted a new one for our second child. I ordered this right away after finding no other grey rockers out there. We put it together in no time, super easy, made sure everything was tight and I started using it. Well, after just a few weeks, the back makes a horrible creak sound almost like popping. Its even worse when my husband uses it. I’m so disappointed it’s not the quality we were looking for. The material is not as nice as the Shermag as well. I plan on returning it! 🙁
I HATE THIS CHAIR!
If I could give it zero stars, I would! It is poorly made and cheap…I guess you get what you pay for! The wood and joints squeak no matter what and it’s VERY annoying when rocking a baby! What a waste of money–you will regret this if you purchase it!!
I love the way this chair looks in our baby nursery. It was very easy to put together! I rocking ottoman is great too! No chair is that comfortable after sitting in it for hours trying to get your baby to settle down. Overall I would recommend this chair!
We didn’t want to spend a ton of money on a rocker. I read a lot of reviews and decided on this one. It is a cheaply made rocker and not for a heavier person. One nice thing is that it is very comfortable for me. I am skinny and tall and it fits me great. I don’t expect it to last forever but I knew what I was getting before I bought.
