these are dumb

they fit on the soothie bottles, but they don’t come with caps or covers. they’re easy to break in the washer. and are really just all around dumb but of course being a 1st time mom i just had to have them. baby doesn’t really care what type of nipple they use, if they’re hungery they’ll eat. i used NUK all the way up to 12 mon and then my son switched to sippys with straws without a prob. these are expensive and not worth the money.

Not my preference

I have been using Dr. Browns bottles since my baby was about 2 months. I decided to give these a try when I was going back to work and I noticed that my baby sucks in a lot more air. So, I went back to using Dr. Browns glass bottles.

Great Product, but Baby still wouldn’t take it

Our baby is a breastfed baby and he refuses bottles now. period. He used to use Tippee Tommee Bottles and then decided one day no more! We have tried EVERYTHING under the sun.I think he would have taken it earlier, after birth, if I had offered it to him sooner.

Only comes with the nipples and insert…

I guess maybe I just didnt look close enough, but this two pack only comes with the nipples and insert, NOT the connector peice to the bottle. So I ordered a new bottle, and that doesnt come with the connector peice either. So now I have two bottles, three nipples, three nipple inserts and only one conector peice (from my original bottle that had become old and worn out, hence the replacement).Overall I LOVE the breastflow bottles. My daughter is 6 months now, and we still breastfeed, we have been using theses bottles almost scince day one and we have never had any nipple confusion whatsoever. My daughter will easily go from my breast to this bottle no problemo. Esspecially now, when we are phasing out breast it can be easy for them to get confused. My biggest issue with the actual bottles is actually part of the design plan, the milk/formula catches in the little space between the nipple and the insert, so when you are done feeding you have to sqeeze the little bit back into the bottle, it dosnt even amount to half an ounce, but still. Other than that, which is actually what its supposed to do, I have no beef. I just wish I had more connector peices.

my son loves this bottle

At 3 months my son stopped taking a bottle and we practiced with breastflow for a few weeks until he got the hang of it. He loves it now! He gets frustrated with regular bottle nipples and starts chewing on them. Just wish there was a stage 3.

Awesome

Our daughter still uses this nipples, even though we are no longer breast feeding. Unlike other nipples, these ones do not make a mess and really does control the flow. I’d strongly recommend these!

GOOD NIPPLES

I love the whole set from “The fisrt years” meaning the “Breastflow” concept . I didn’t have any colicky issues with my son, what so ever. I don’t know if it was because I used the right bottles + nipples or not. Anyway, he’s six months old now and he still loves them, we are using the second stage of nipples. One little think though: I’ve purchased a set of nipples and one of them didn’t have the hole perforated so my son was kinda of pissed as no milk was coming out of there. That’s why I gave them 4 stars. Overall, very good product. I will recommend it!!

Highly sensitive to heat!

These nipples have worked great for my daughter going back and forth between breastfeeding and the bottle. You have to be careful though because the inner nipple is highly sensitive to heat! I was sterilizing the nipples and bottles (boiling water) and the inner blue nipple melted in to a heap on one of mine, and the other got a large crack at the hole where the milk came out. I had to buy more. Then we bought the fast flow and my daughter hated them because they were too fast (she is 5 months old). We went back to the original slow flow. I still like this bottle overall, especially over the Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Set, which I feel like was an expensive waste of money. Just beware when using boiling to sterilize your stuff!

Slow flow for a level 2

I was surprised with the flow rate for this level 2 nipple. The bottle and nipple design is very well made but this product is best for newborns. If your needing a level two then I would recommend another brand (Dr.Browns or other…)

Would be great, if the inner part didn’t break down.

We started using these with our first daughter, and overall, we’re very pleased with them. We used these to transition from breast-feeding and that went without a hitch. The thing we noticed though is that the harder, inner nipples started to break-down and crack after a few months. One-by-one, we had to start throwing them away, so I went ahead and purchased this Breastflow Stage 2 Nipple 2 Pack to replace them. To be absolutely honest, these have held-up even worse. I purchased them on June 10th, and as of today (July 26th), the end of one of them has completely deteriorated and the other has very noticeable cracks. That’s a whole lot less life than I was expecting, especially since my daughter is having fewer bottles than she used to.Overall, we still like the Breastflow bottles, but the durability of the inner nipples really leaves something to be desired. It’s also a shame that they aren’t sold separately at a lower price point, because that would probably make buying more a little bit less of an offense. While I doubt we’ll be changing bottles with my oldest (now weaning her off the bottle at 21 months), we’ll definitely be looking for another product when our 4 month old twins are ready for them.

hard to clean and put together

I thought it was a good idea. But these ones turned out to be hard to use and hard to clean. If you don’t assemble them properly the milk will leak. Besides I prefer glass bottles, as plastic eventually turns yellow when you wash it in a dishwasher.

Doesn’t last long…

When my baby was born, the only bottle she took was the Breastflow bottle because all other bottles’ nipples had too fast of a flow. So we used the Stage 1 nipples until she was 2+ months and then I switched to these nipples because I thought they’d be faster. Well, they are SLIGHTLY faster. Really, the design of the nipple (the inner and outer nipple) really slows down the milk flow REGARDLESS of how big the holes are… so at 5 months, my baby was SO frustrated with this bottle. It would take 40 minutes to give a 7-oz bottle. I wish The First Years made a nipple and collar that transitioned to just one nipple so you could reuse the bottles, but we ended switching bottle entirely to the Avent Natural line. For comparison, my baby took 40 minutes for a 7 ounce bottle with this nipple. With the Avent Natural line, a 1+month nipple and bottle resulted in a 10 minute feeding – BIG DIFFERENCE!Don’t bother getting these nipples… if you’re looking for faster flow, invest in a new bottle.

Used this product for the first and now second child…

… and it does exactly what it says it will. Makes the transition between breast feeding and bottle feeding seamless (back and forth.)
