We use a vitamix to make baby food for our 5month old, and smoothies for our 2 1/2 year old. We don’t have a problem with having left over purée in the sili, they’re pretty much empty. It is very easy to clean and Eco friendly! And come in fun colors! AND I can sneak all sorts of veggies into my daughters tummy and she keeps asking for more!!We also don’t a problem with the lid, my 2 1/2 year old snaps it on/off no problem.I highly recommend sili squeeze!
Nice container but too difficult for small kids to use alone
I bought the Sili Squeeze with Eeeze for my 3 year old son to take to school in his lunch. The container itself is very sturdy and he has no issue using it to eat, but the lid is ridiculously difficult to fasten. It can only go on the container ONE WAY, as the nipple spout isn’t symmetric (which in itself is ridiculous) and there is a small notch (and by small I mean around 1/16 of an inch) that has to be aligned before the spill-proof cap can be replaced. I can’t send it with him to school because anything left in the container after he eats is going to run out when he can’t fasten the lid. I am very disappointed in this product.
This is the best thing for young children!
I bought this for my 13 month old, but I think I am going to need to order the original non spill design for her instead. She refuses to let me help her, so she makes a huge mess batting this thing away. However my 2 1/2 year old loves this thing. I happen to have a million jars of baby food that no one eats. Aside from slipping them into meat loaf and smoothies, I was at a loss for what to do with them. Well, now I feed them to my toddler. She can get every bit out of this, leaving no waste. It is so incredibly squishy, I don’t see how anyone is having trouble with food being left. Even if she didn’t get it all out, I could easily squeeze it for her, or, I can even tap it upside down with the cap on, and all the food goes to the top. It’s the easiest thing to clean ever. I also happen to own a vitamix, so anything I make in that can go right in this product and my toddler can drink it right up! Plus it just looks super neat! And it’s just the slightest bit see-through, so I can actually see what’s left. I’m actually in love with it.
These do NOT leak and the lid is EASY to get back on!! You can totally tell if you have the lid on correctly and it works great…I saw another review where someone was complaining of these leaking or not knowing if the lid was on correctly, etc…..either they just had no clue or the company has fixed the issues.
Too difficult — not like store pouches
I was really excited about this product, and then very disappointed once we tried using them. I bought it because we were spending so much money on store made pouches, and I also liked that this was made of silicone and not plastic. The description even describes them as a replacement for pouches, but there’s an important distinction. The problem is that because the pouch is made of silicone, it doesn’t collapse and stay collapsed after sucking on it like the store-bought pouches do. So after you suck some applesauce or whatever out of it, the whole pouch fills back up with air. Once the pouch isn’t completely full of applesauce then, you either have to squeeze the whole pouch with both hands at the same time as you’re sucking, or you have to suck a ton of air out and keep sucking and sucking while keeping the air seal on your mouth tight before you get to the applesauce once the pouch is half full. My 3-year-old son’s hands are still too small to squeeze all the air out of the large pouch with his hands, and he certainly can’t suck out all the air while not breaking the seal to then get to the applesauce, so if he wants to eat the second half of the pouch, I have to squeeze it into his mouth for crying out loud. So what happens is that I fill the whole thing, and he can only eat the first half. So I end up chunking the second half of the pouch — what a waste. I think I’m just going to suck up my qualms with plastic and buy the pouches that collapse and don’t fill with air.
I use this to put smoothies and green drinks in for my son. He loves it, and it’s easy for him to use. We got it when he was about a year and a half, and he hasn’t had any issues using it. My only complaint is that it’s not very easy to clean. I dish wash it, but even doing that doesn’t always cut it. All in all, I’d recommend this product!
We have only used it about five times, but each time it has been a lifesaver. We pack applesauce for an extra snack when we’re on the run or in the car. Great size for bigger kids; my son still has problems getting the last bit out, he’s 19 months, but I expected he’d need to grow into the size. It will be great when he’s older for a lunchbox or snack!
Love this! But this not those packets!
Love this product. Super easy to use and fill. 12 month old had no issue getting the smoothie out. Our only problem is that we started giving him the easy squeeze too late (around 11 months) and had never had a squeeze packet (always served it from a bowl) so he thought it was awesome fun to squeeze the sili squeeze and squirt it everywhere when he was done eating. I will be purchasing the other tips so that it won’t be as easy for him to squeeze the contents everywhere. Love the recipes on the sili squeeze website also.
Messy if your child is old enough to squeeze it
Either the child has to be too young to want to manipulate it, or old/mature enough not to want to squeeze it to cause an eruption. A hard sippy bottle with a long straw is preferable for 1 yr to 2+ years. Otherwise, the 2-yr-old wants to explore and manipulate it and squeeze it to watch all the food ooze out.
Awesome for baby food or preschoolers who love those applesauce and yogurt pouches – fill your own and save!
Awesome awesome awesome. Both our boys love these! The youngest was 7 months old when he started using it and didn’t need much assistance at all (just observation in case he decided to make a mess on purpose). They are now 17 months and 4 1/2 years old and still love them. The older one loves applesauce or yogurt in it.I would recommend skipping the regular one and going right to the Sili Squeeze with Eeeze. The hole is a little smaller than the baby food pouches sold in the grocery store but very similar so it is a smooth transition and very little learning curve. Just make sure really little ones don’t squeeze it before putting in their mouth or it could squirt into their hair and face. Lol! But naturally, that happens with the prefilled ones too. Very young ones may also need help with the final squeeze to get the last drops until they figure it out. It is very soft silicone but stands on it’s own and comes apart completely for the dishwasher. I would also recommend considering if you little ones likes to play with lids and if this is a problem for mealtimes. The lid is tied so that it can’t be tossed or lost, but our youngest loves to put tops on and off which sometimes distracted him from eating. If you are debating how many to have on hand, I can say 1 per child is probably plenty and then wash by hand if you need to use it again that day otherwise run the dishwasher overnight so it is ready for the next day. If you have an infant and are using it for baby food several times a day, maybe an extra one would be helpful considering the frequency of use.
Great for 18 Month Old Toddler
I purchased this for my 18 month old to take to daycare. He mainly uses it for yogurt. He is at a stage where he insists on feeding himself but he makes a huge mess with certain foods. This has been great for some of the messier foods. He is able to squeeze/suck out most of the food inside without any issues and no mess. It is easy to fill and clean. My son isn’t a huge fan of smoothies but it would work great with smoothies. If you are looking for a reusable pouch for a toddler, I recommend buying this one.
What an AWESOME product!
I really appreciate the ability to make healthy "on-the-go" snacks for my 20 month old son.Pros:*6 oz size, larger than some of the pre-packaged versions of the "purees"*Cap is not easy to lose*Cap does not detach easily, so even if young toddler gets the Sili squeeze, they cannot necessarily open it.*Easy to assemble and clean.*Colors are awesome.*Not "baby" looking, so it would be acceptable for elementary-aged kids to use in school lunches.Cons:*It is difficult to get the "last ounce" out of the sili squeeze, as it gets stuck at the bottom. **I did not take off a star from this, as it seems like each time my son uses this, he is getting more and more efficient at "sucking" while squeezing.**
Cool but pricey for what it is.
This is nice for doing yogurt or applesauce to go but its hard for LO to get that last little bit out since its a flat bottom. If this were more like a food pouch you see in a store where its more of an envelope fold at the bottom I think it would be easier for him to get all the food out. Still a good buy though and super easy to clean!
Perfect for my hungry toddlers
I bought 2 of these for my girls. One is 3 and the other is 21 months. The 3 year old can have a healthy snack on our way home from preschool. She doesn’t need any supervision while using the silli squeeze with eeeze. My 21 month old needs some supervision so she doesn’t squeeze the contents everywhere but she does really well. The girls help me make smoothies with veggies and fruit then love sucking them down I their silli squeeze with eeeze. I would highly recommend this product. We love it! I plan on buying the original silli squeeze for my son when he starts solids.
