I love these bottles, i breast fed and bottle fed and my baby had no issues going back and forth. I eventually went to just bottle feeding. They are easy to clean and only 3 pieces. I did have the nipple collapsing problem when he sucked to hard, however tommee tippees info tells you how to fix that. If the nipple was alittle wet then it may collapse because the hole in the nipple that helps reduce air may get stuck because its wet. As to the comment about the bottle needing to be tipped all the way back, this is only a small amount of milk that gets stuck on the edge and i would just shake the bottle and he could have the last little bit. As for too fast of flow, never had this issue but they do make slow flow nipples if your baby has this issue. I love these bottles and have gotten several others to use them and they all love them.
Awesome bottles, no nipple confusion
I’m not sure what really convinced me to go with these bottles in the first place, but I am SO glad I made that call. DH wanted to help feed, and I was an exhausted mess when we came home from the hospital, so we started our son on one bottle feeding a night when he was a couple of weeks old. I have never had any trouble going back and forth between bottle and breast, and that has been great for us, especially since he started daycare. When he is drinking from the bottle I can tell his mouth is in a very similar conformation to when he is nursing. We haven’t found the size 1 nipples to be too fast at all. It did clog easily once we had to start adding cereal to the bottles to help with our sons acid reflux. We just started using the variable flow (X) nipples and no more problems. Now that he’s 4 months old we have changed to a size 2 nipple with no problems.
These are perfect bottles. The nips are specially designed so that your child swallows less gas. I understand some folks have issues with the nips collapsing during feeding, but that is easily fixed by pinching the valve on the inside of the nipple so that you make sure it’s not temporarily sealed. These are the only bottles that my daughter feeds with.
My Boy Loves Tommee Tippee
We switched from breastfeeding to these bottles with no problem at all. My 7 week old baby boy can take down around 5 oz in about 30 min using the newborn nipple flow and he doesn’t swallow much air. I have no leakage issues and the bottles do great in the dish washer. Someone gave this to me as a baby shower gift and I am really glad they did. I’m not impressed with the bottle warmer but that’s another issue …
I will start by saying that I purchased this exact set at TJ Maxx for under $20. I would not pay over $50 for it.Pros: nipples are similar to the breast and easy for baby to use, bottles are easy to clean and have held up wellCons: due to the shape of the bottle milk gets trapped and you have to hold the bottle straight up and down to get the last bit out, vent can get stuck shut causing nipple to collapseOverall I like these bottles but I don’t know if I will be purchasing more
These are a God Send!!!
My baby is 3 months old and would not take a bottle!! We tried a number of different bottles and she rejected them all until this one!!!! I go back to work in 2 weeks and NEED her to take a bottle. I fed her with this bottle this morning and she took it without a blink, as if she didn’t even notice it wasn’t my breast. I am buying more to ensure we always have one on hand!
Great Bottle but way less money elswhere
I realise every baby is different and has different likes and dislikes, therefore that will effect many peoples reviews. Durability and washability is something that is, however, universal! As for that, these are pretty good. I do have to say, SHOP AROUND! They are extreamly over priced on Amazon. I found the 6 piece starter set at Target for $30, and snagged it on sale for $23 with free shipping.
