The only option for eating on the go for a mom of twins

This was one of the most helpful baby products I have purchased. I have twins and they eat every 3.5 hours, so if I want to take them anywhere I have to plan to feed them while I am out. I have tried taking preportioned formula and hot water in a thermos, and then mixing them on the go, but this creates a huge mess and is very time consuming, not to mention that I am trying to get the bottles ready while tending to two hungry, fussy babies. This travel warmer allows me to bring the bottles already prepared (of course they do need to be put in some sort of cooler), and then simply put the bottle in the “cup” part and pour the hot water over it. Presto – in less than 3 minutes I have a warmed bottle (and I usually put an ice pack in the cooler with my bottles, so that tells you how fast it warms). For the people who said the water burned their child, I’m sorry but I think you have to be more precautious as a parent. Every time I fill these I turn them upside down to make sure they are not leaking. Then when I am preparing the bottles, I put the thermos and “cup” on a hard surface so there is no risk of anything tipping, and I keep the babies in their carseats in the stroller. Just like you wouldn’t bring a baby near the stove when water is boiling, you shouldn’t have the baby anywhere near water this warm. I just really can’t say enough about how much easier this has made it for me to get out of the house with my two little ones.

I was a fool for waiting so long to get this!!!

After trying to find a way to heat a bottle up on the road or in a store with a hungry, frantic, crying baby a few times; I started looking for portable warmers. I searched high and low, but every product I looked at had horribly mixed reviews- which usually doesn’t phase me too much, but in the case of the warmers, I didn’t want to take the chance. I am so glad that I decided to buy this warmer/ thermos. It works for bottles and later for heating up solids. I put hot water from my Keurig in it before I leave the house and then if I need to make a bottle, I fill half or 2/3 with the hot water and the rest with water from my water bottle. It comes out perfect every time! The water stays hot in the thermos for hours, and it is pretty much idiot proof, portable, and leak proof. Plus, I can make a bottle as soon as I need it- unlike the warmers that are plugged in or operate with the heat packs. Another option is filling the white cover up with the hot water and submerging the bottle in it- and letting it sit in a hot water bath to heat up. Although, I haven’t tried that option yet. It is even handy to have next to my bed, so I can mix warm bottles up during the night, so one of us isn’t constantly running to the warmer in the kitchen. i think this is an excellent option for anyone looking for a portable warmer- it is easy, convenient, and much more reliable than the alternatives on the market. Give it a try!!!

Just a thermos with a big cup to hold bottle

This is just a plain thermos with the big cup to hold the bottle warmer. It works but very expensive for what it is. You can get a very nice thermos for $20 and carry around a big cup to hold the water and the bottle for much cheaper. Having said that, this is a nicer looking solution. I have had experiences where I sat in the back seat trying to warm milk in a too small container sloshing water around everywhere. The white cap that goes over the entire thermos is a good size and you don’t have to worry about water overflowing when you put the bottle in.

Perfect

My breast-fed baby will only take bottles if they’re super warm. So when we recently had to take him on a few flights, I wasn’t sure how I was going to manage keeping bottles of breast milk cold and then warming them just when he needed them. (Didn’t want to warm them in advance as to keep the milk fresh for as long as possible — that milk is valuable!) This travel bottle warmer was perfect. We got hot water after going through security, and it stayed SUPER hot for the entire day. Heated up a bottle within minutes. The device is simple to use (it’s like a very thermal thermos within a large, thick plastic cylinder — you pour the hot water from the thermos into the cylinder, then warm the bottle in it), and I wasn’t sure it would be better than just bringing an insulated mug, but it definitely is, as you can easily pour the hot water back in the thermos part when you’re done heating the bottle and stow the whole thing away without worrying about a spill. I recently used it for a road trip and found it just as valuable. In fact, I didn’t pour out the water until the next day and it was still really warm. So glad I bought this!

Fantastic for travel!

I found out early on that my daughter was super-picky about the temperature of her bottles–even room temperature was sometimes too cold for her–so I began searching for a travel warmer that would be quick, easy, and reliable regardless of where we were. I kept hearing from friends that the plug-in style to use in cars took forever and really didn’t heat well at all, so when I came across this one at a local store, I bought it immediately.Hot water in a cup was the same way the nurses heated my daughter’s bottles during her short stay in the NICU, so I figured this would be an affective method for us when we were on the go as well. I love this thermos, because we fill it up with super-hot water before leaving the house, and it stays that way for hours. When I need to heat a bottle, I just unscrew the cup, push the button to open the seal on the thermos, and pour hot water over the bottle in the cup–I have a bottle heated and ready to go in just a couple of minutes!I realize that it’s just a thermos with a cup attached, but this is a really smart design. After I’m done heating the bottle, I just pour the hot water back into the thermos, and most of the time it’s still hot enough to use again. Also, because the the cup screws onto the thermos, there isn’t ever any water in my bag when I’m done using it–so no mess when I get home (in my bag anyway…the baby is typically a different story!)

A Terrific Solution…Wish I’d Found This Sooner!

Every once in a while, one finds a baby-need solution that makes life so much easier, you wish you’d had it the whole time (and in our case, for your last kid). This is one of those times. The prospect of going out with our two little ones always had this little road bump of stress on the horizon: When its time to give the little one the bottle while we’re at the zoo, on a hike, at the botanical gardens…how are we gonna heat that sucker up? Is there a cafe that will give us a hot cup of water? Is there warm water in the bathroom? Kid you not, at the LA Zoo, I actually had to use one of those bathroom hand-dryers to warm up a bottle of breast milk…Boo!With this warmer, we won’t have that issue again. It’s a simple solution. Basically, a hot water thermos and a large, insular water container that nest together when not in use. No electricity needed. Fill it up on your way out with boiling water, and many hours later you’ll have plenty of hot water to warm your bottle with. Because we stock it with very hot water, it literally only takes a few minutes to heat up a chilled bottle of breast milk. The only reason we don’t give it 5 stars is because of it’s bulk, and because it requires extreme care to be used safely. I’ll be honest here and “out” myself for stupidity: I once tried to pour the hot water into the container while it was clenched between my knees and proceeded to burn my thigh. Now this is more of a common sense problem on my part than a design flaw, but I share it as a reminder that hot liquids and parenting need to be handled with forethought and care.Pros:Works; Works QuicklyEasy to UseLarge Enough to Fit Any Bottle or Food ContainerCons:LargeHeavyRequires Extreme Care To Use: Because it works with hot water, you can scald yourself or your baby if you are not careful. Whatever you do, do NOT pour the water or let the bottle sit and warm up anywhere within reach or spilling distance of your precious one!

recommended for anyone travelling with babies

My husband thought this was a silly purchase as he said it was a glorified thermos. After using it on a 10 Hr trip we were quite amazed at how it kept the water hot. It is really convenient to have such a big "cup" to heat the bottles in. The only thing to watch for is remembering which position the button for pouring is suppose to be so that it is closed when you put it away.

it’s just a termo

Bought it for a trip with our 6 mo to England during winter. Ended not using it because it is just a termo, a very heavy one and does not keep water very hot… Boiled water would stay warm for about 4 h inside the diaper bag. And that’s mainly indoors. Better off buying a regular termo or coffee mug that is lighter.

Best travel bottle warmer that I’ve found

I love this product! I babysit my granddaughter and routinely take her out during the day. She’s three months old and seems to digest her food better when it’s warmed. I researched quite a lot and wasn’t happy with any of the portable bottle warmers that you plugged into a car. I was kind of skeptical about this item since it just seemed like a thermos but I’m very happy that I bought it. I fill this with water from my Keurig (as another reviewer suggested) and throw it in the diaper bag. When my granddaughter is hungry it takes only a few minutes to warm up her bottle. I love that the top has a push bottom top to let the water out. This allows for the water to escape but none of the heat which is much better than a traditional thermos. The plastic sleeve that you pour the water into is wide so it will accommodate any size bottle. It literally takes less than five minutes for this to warm her bottle and I would say it’s closer to 3-4 minutes. I can warm up at least three small bottles with the water I can fit in this thermos. The first time I used this I heated the bottle up and poured the "used" water back into the thermos and the water was still really hot hours later. I normally don’t do this but was unsure if I had enough water for the entire day but I shouldn’t have worried. I watch my granddaughter for 11 hours at a time and so far I’ve never run out of hot water when out and about with her. I really can’t recommend this product enough and I’m certainly glad I purchased it.

Simple design — high quality thermos with large cover

I may just be dim, but I did not understand from the product description and the reviews I read what this is: It’s a good-quality stainless steel thermos, with a large plastic screw-on cover that you can use as a bowl to fill with the hot water from the thermos to heat a bottle. (Or you can use the hot water to mix your powder formula.) It’s not really a “warmer” like others are, but I like it. It works very well, particularly if you have an insta-hot water dispenser. I find it keeps water hot enough to warm a bottle for many hours if I fill it using the insta-hot. It’s a good purchase for the money. I’m not sure I agree with those who say it fits easily in the diaper bag, unless my diaper bag is much smaller than others’ (I have the Skip Hop Duo Deluxe), because if I put it in the bag I wouldn’t have room for much else. But it is reasonably portable and definitely does the job.Update: The price has gone up $8 in the week since I bought this. I’m not sure I’d still say it is a great value at $24; $16 seemed about right. That said, it does work very well as compared to a cheap thermos. I forgot to bring it in from the car the other day, so 24 hours later I emptied it and the water was still warm enough that I could have used it to make warm formula from powder, or maybe even heat a bottle (from room temperature, not the fridge). Pretty impressive.

Total life saver!

This is great and can be used not only for traveling. Each night before I go upstairs I get the bottles and water ready in the warmer so when baby is up I can make his bottles on the spot and it’ll be warm and good to go. That way I won’t have to worry about running downstairs to make a bottle and warm water. It saves so much time even when out and about. When we go places like to the mall, it’s great because we can make baby’s bottles fast and it’s warm since we don’t like to give him cold bottles. It’s a must have!

Keeps the heat

This is great for heating up baby bottles. This method is how we heat our bottles at home so it works on the go as well. We fill it up with super hot water and have been gone for hours and come back home and it’s still hot. Easy to carry around. Make sure to have the button so it is fully sealed. I have had a soaked diaper bag on one occasion. The other thing is that it does add some weight to our diaper bag. Sometimes I keep it separate. Still worth it.

really keeps water warm all day

I used this traveling/flying and it really does keep the water ridiculously hot. my only complaint is how heavy the thermos is.. I don’t know if this could be helped, but when you are already traveling with a lot of extra stuff because of the baby its hard to want to carry anything extra.

Nice, but not perfect

We got this to use when we would have our son out with us for shorter day-type trips. We fill it with scalding hot water and store it until we need to warm his bottle. Pros: Tommee Tippee bottles fit in this, which is not too common with the odd-shaped bottles. It does help warm the bottle and it has stayed warm for 4 hours. (We haven’t taken it for any longer trips than that). Cons: as other reviewers said, it’s basically a thermos and you could probably find a cheaper substitute.

Awesome! More useful than you think.

My son is 22 months old and he just will not drink cold milk, doesn’t matter if it’s in a bottle, a sippy, or a regular cup. I’ve only had this item for a month and it’s already gotten a ton of use. I really wish I had this since my son was born, it would of been so useful for thawing breast milk on the go, or carrying around warm water for making fresh formula bottles. Prior to having this I would have to inconvenience friends and family with finding a container and hot water source to warm up the bottle. It’s just so much easier to have your own means. This has been great when out and about shopping or at a restaurant as well. I use water from a tea kettle or keurig and the water stays hot for hours. I once filled it up around 1:30 in the afternoon and the water was still warm at 10pm that night when I finally got around to cleaning out my diaper bag.It does weigh a few pounds when full and will take up a bit of diaper bag space, but that’s to be expected. I keep it in the car or under the stroller if I don’t have room in my bag. Great purchase! Well worth the $.

Best useful product for warming up…

Got this product to warm up breast milk on the go (so much more convenient than use a thermos hot water bottle then need to find another container to put the hot water in), when my supply was down, I used the water to mix formula. Just add cold water, then hot, then mix formula to not damage the nutrients. It would keep hot water, fully boiled 200 degree for about 8 hours straight. If you open it, let say, to mix formula about 4 times a day, then just add hot water on the go and you will be all set. When I went to a coffee shop or a restaurant, they usually would fill it up with hot water free of charge. So even on trips (in West coast), was very convenient for us. I just brought along a cold water bottle to mix the formula if the hot water is too hot. Now, that my daughter is a toddler and eat solids, I would bring solids with condensed soup base from home, either add the hot water, or just put the whole container (that fits in the outer shell) and warm it up that way. Best investment ever made in terms of feeding my child. ^_^ Have been using it for a year now, so far so good ^_^

REALLY stays hot!

I exclusively breastfeed, but was going on a long 15 hour road trip and wanted to be able to warm some BM on the road if I needed. I filled this with hot water from the Keurig and it stayed hot the entire way. You have to be careful when using the press down spout thing that you don’t get water on yourself. I did this the first time by accident and nearly burned myself crazy. I put about an inch of water into the clear cylinder, dropped a frozen bag of BM in it, mushed it around a bit, and had a room temp/warm bottle ready for her in about 5 minutes. I’m sure this is invaluable to those who FF! Would make a great baby shower gift as it is something nobody thinks of.

Useful

This travel bottle warmer is useful for when I go out for extended periods and cannot take a warmed bottle with me. I use it when I visit friends and family, and I take it with me when we go out to eat just in case baby gets hungry while we are out. It is not a must have by any means, but it does come in handy from time to time. If you are on a budget, there are lots of cheaper ways to warm a bottle, so save your money.

Keeps water hot for hours, but leaks

This does the job as far as keeping the water hot, but the lid is very difficult to tighten all the way. It doesn’t seem to thread very easily. No matter how tight I get the lid on, it still leaks slightly. Make sure you are able to keep in upright if traveling with it. If you do, you won’t have any problems.

it’s a bit bulky for a diaper bag/backpack but it works well. on mine, the top doesn’t screw down very easily, but i’ve found that if i open the valve (push button) first, it works better. boiling water lasts the longest obviously, i had it still be warm the next day when i finally took it out of my bag.
